We had never been to this restaurant before. We told the waiter this, and he (Steve) was extremely helpful in explaining the menu, the size of the portions, etc. It was my son's 39th birthday and it was definitely a very enjoyable evening. It could not have been better.

A personal favorite. Excellent food and service. Every table in the place was full; the place was packed consequently the noise level was extremely high. Great value for the dollar. A half order of salad is more than enough for two. A large order of pasta will feed three or four. Great leftovers.

dThe best part of our meal was the service by JR. He was amazingly attentive and helpful with ordering. We had our son's wedding rehearsal dinner here and it was so wonderful that we decoded it is the best place for us to celebrate a special occasion. It was my father's 85th birthday. Thanks for a great afternoon!

We really enjoyed our first time eating at Maggiano's. The ambiance was great. We were in the balcony section which was quieter that the main level. The service was great as well as the food. We ordered half portions which were very substantial. We definetly will return.

I LOVE Maggiano's! My son is a manager at the one in Indianapolis, so whenever I'm in Indy, I eat there a lot! I was very glad to have one open in the greater Phoenix area, and always look forward to a fantastic meal when I go there. I drive all the way to Scottsdale from Peoria just to have the fabulous dining experience... the food is terrific, always consistent... and I am never disappointed. Their Godiva chocolate martinis are the best anywhere in town! I know with this yukky economy, Maggiano's is probably not looking to open a new restaurant any time soon, but it sure would be great to have one on the West Side someday!

This is a mass feeding place with portions that are at least twice as big as necessary. Alfredo sauce is poured over pasta so thick that it is nearly inedible (and not good for you anyway). Beautiful facility, but, we won't be back due to the oversize portions that kept us up all night!

We have eaten at this chain several times. Portions are huge and the food has always been very good. On the particular night we dined, it was a holiday and they were a little behind on the reservations, but we were seated within 20 minutes of our reservation time. The staff apologized for the delay and kept us updated on the progress of our table. Kudos to the staff for performing well on a busy, difficult night.

Maggiano's is a tourist trap - don't plan on stellar food or service. We waited about 20 minutes with a reservation and were seated upstairs ( avoid if possible ). The waiter was inattentive, didn't bring any bread until we asked, did ot check for drink reorders ( I had to track him down ) and the food was warm and mediocre. One bright spot was the tiramisu - excellent. This is one place I would avoid unless you have small children and it would probably be ok

The family style option is great for a group of four or more. You get so many choices and so much food everyone leaves with a "to-go" box. We had a feast on Christmas Eve at only $26.50 per person! It was warm and pleasant and the server was really excellent. Could not have been any nicer.

  • Our experience this past Wednesday
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 12/24/2008
Our experience this past Wednesday was an unfortunate dining experience. Two of the 3 of us were served cold food. The manager was nice enough to replace it with a freshly cooked meal, but now instead of eating together, we ended up eating in stages. Our server never returned to take plates, offer dessert or coffee, or ask if we were ready for the bill. Again the manager...to his credit... noticing we were looking around again, came to the table. In the end he was very gracious, offered us a dessert, coffee and took one of the meals off the bill. Thankfully the manager did a great deal to try and save the evening. Unfortunately, this is not the kind of family evening we were intending to have.

Thought it would be more intimate but found it was one large noisy room. Food was OK but overpriced when you consider it's ala la carte. No salad, potatoes or vegtables unless ordered. (Just the meat for $16-$20) Probably won't return nor recommend. Macaroni Grill and Olive Garden are far better values.

This meal at Maggiano's was for a birthday/christmas/going away dinner with a very dear friend. Our server was polite and friendly and knew that we were talking and taking our time enjoying everything. We were never rushed and his timing was perfect! We have eaten at Maggiono's many times, but this time the food was very disappointing. There were 4 people in our party. One of the entrees was so bland that our friend hardly touched it. The waiter didn't ask how it was or wonder why it was left and we didn't say anything. Another veal entree was ok, but canned button mushrooms were used instead of fresh. Everything was just ok ----nothing was special.

We've been patronizing Maggiano's-Scottsdale for years, which is why we chose it for our Thanksgiving supper this year--sans grown kids. The rapidity of service is normally spot-on; however, things were a bit slower this time around, owing, largely, to this year's holiday, and boasting some 500 reservations for the afternoon sitting alone. All-told, everything from the quality of the cuisine, ample portions, cleanliness, atmosphere, and attentive service was first cabin, as per usual. This is why we are repeat patrons. We continue to return to Maggiano's-Scottsdale at least once a month, because it is consistent.

It is difficult to feed the huge number of people for a holiday feast. We were disappointed, especially in the turkey. We have been to Maggiano's for Thanksgiving before. Sometimes it's better, sometimes it's worse. Our waiter tried to do his best but the food was just OK. I would pay more to go somewhere that concentrted more on quality rather than quantity next year.

It was very busy. We had to wait a little over 15 minutes to be sat at a table. Our reservation was for 7:45 and we were not sat until a little after 8:00. We had a new server. He was very nice but relied on his runner to bring us bread which never happened. So after about 15 mins. we stopped him and asked for bread. He apologized and brought it to us promptly. We ordered the herb chicken which we had never had before. It came out dry and rubbery. We had to send it back and we ordered the cheese ravioli which we've had before and knew that we liked it. The server overall did a very good job and the ravioli when we got it was very good.

Server was new and orders were were slow. Oedered price fixed menu and wife and I both ordered same dish-lobster fettucini- only one half order was delivered by runner. We asked him to alert waitress. She came over and said kitchen made error?? Dessert was at least 15 minutes in being served. Coffee lukewarm. Had had previous excellent experiences however, it looked like unorganized confusion. Would return to give anotheer try.
