A word from The Four Seasons Restaurant – The Pool Room
"One bite is enough to make you moan"
- The New York Times

Beloved by locals and a must-see destination for anyone who enjoys celebrity sightings, the Four Seasons is the restaurant New York Magazine named the "city's greatest dining room."

Whether you're lunching poolside and enjoying the restaurant's deal-of-the-decade $59 prix fixe or looking for a delicious dinner destination that the New York Times raved "virtually defines American cooking," the Four Seasons offers something for every wallet.

An only-in-Manhattan icon that Zagat 2013 called "a calm oasis in throbbing Manhattan," the Four Seasons serves New American dishes, inspired by local fishermen and farmers.

The restaurant did not live up to my expectations. The food was very very good but I've had better, the service was fine but maybe too "theatrical" and the atmosphere was lacking that special thing I expected to find. In total, it would not be my first recommendation to friends visiting the city.

Overall it was disappointing. I though the bartenders were obnoxious. And get this...they ran out of Cabernet by the glass. I would think a restaurant of this caliber would have a list with multiple selections by the glass. The atmosphere is a little tired...very 80's. They are in need of an overhaul. The food was just good. At their prices (which I don't mind paying) I expect exceptional. I won't be going back any time soon.

An excellent dining 'experience.' One that will last a lifetime. When I need a venue for that 'special' occasion in the future, The Four Seasons will always be a top consideration.

Dinner in the Pool Room at the Four Seasons is always a treat and the highlight of a trip to New York City. We spent more than three hours savoring every bite of the delicious food and every bit of the elegant atmosphere, making it an evening of culinary theatre. The highlight on this visit was the considerate and warm service. Anyone who thinks that elegance implies stuffiness will be disabused of that notion by the consistently professional and friendly staff. We will be back again next year. A trip to Manhattan wouldn't be complete without a trip to the Four Seasons.

We went to the 4 Seasons in April 08 and quite frankly I'd booked it on its reputation.Theres no question its a beautiful room, one that was worthy of JFKs 45th birthday party apparently, however you just got the impression that they were going through the motions. The food was competent without being spectacular and the service just a trifle superior, that said I don't regret going and the setting made for a memorable meal, the bill was equally memorable!

if you don`t go for the food, which is already worth going, then go for the ambiance, every single detail, from the salt pot to the flower pot and the silverware has been designed in the 50ies, you feel like Grace Kelly or Maria Callas. The waiters are very attentive but relaxed and chatty in a decent manner.

I went there 3 years ago and the food was excellent-the best dinner ever. Every entree (party of 4) was delicious. This time the food was bland and no taste what so ever. We were very disappointed-probably will never go back. When you pay this much you always expect the best. There are too many other places to go in New York.

We were there for an 85th birthday, and the cotton candy was a perfect touch. Had we known it would be brought to us, though, we wouldn't have bothered to order another dessert. I had just written on my internet reservation that we'd were there for that occasion, but I didn't know anything particular would happen in response.

We went to the 4 Seasons primarily for the ambience of the pool room (a beautful space), the very high level of service, and the justly famed roast duck, carved tableside. We were completely satisfied, and would add that the $75 prix fixe (which includes the duck) is an excellent option.

Starting with the coat check, she was busy fixing hangers instead of waiting on customers. At first I thought she was waiting on someone and then realized she was just fixing hangers. The hostess who sat us, left the table before my husband arrived at the table and just walked away. A server had to pull the table out for my husband. After our appetizers were eaten we sat with empty plates for too long. I have eaten at this restaurant 4 times before and this service was definitely lacking from my other experiences here. I hope the service this time was just lacking and not an indication of how the restaurant has changed since my last visit. I have always enjoyed coming here when visting New York.

Our waiter was absolutely fantastic and personable. Our first time in NYC and we were made to feel at home. The waitstaff works so well together like it is choreograped ahead of time. My daughter was not feeling well, the waiter made her special tea for her tummy. They served us two desserts on the house even though we hardly touched the first one. What a great place and deserving of their reputation. We will be returning in November 2009 for another taste of this classical place.
