I had heard so many good things about this place I couldn’t wait. The service was great. Here is where I was disappointed. First we ordered the fried asparagus was just Ok. For $11 we got 6 pieces for 4 people. The waiter verbally gave us 5 special entrees, which was hard to keep up with, so I went for the menu. My wife had the lamb shank special. It was fine, but basically tasted like expensive pot roast (not much like lamb). My real disappointment was the veal dish I ordered. It was terrible. Way overcooked and tough, for $39 I had high expectations. I was surprised they didn’t ask how I like it cooked. BIt was like a steak reheated the next day in the microwave. If we hadn’t been with our guests I would have sent it back. I ate about 1/4 of it, pushed it around my plate and said I was full. I took it home to be nice, but threw it away. To be fair, my guests both had fish dishes, and seemed to enjoy them. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing. Not sure I will go back, the reviews are so good otherwise.

Always a delight to dine here. Our server Fabiana was very informative. All of our meals were delicious. You must not miss a chance to dine here.

The Poached Pear is one of my favorite restaurants. The menu has enough variety to please anyone; the Mussels Appetizer special is so good I look forward to enjoying it whenever it is offered and the service is a pleasure. We never feel rushed and enjoy the experience year-round. This time I had the Veal dish, and it did not disappoint.

Generally was very nice. Pork chop was a bit overcooked and there were too many specials we lost count. Tuna was excellent. Ganache cake was delicious
