We invite you to gather with us by the Rogue River for an intimate summer dinner in celebration of Racines—the California project of renowned Burgundian winemaker Étienne de Montille. With Étienne joining us in person, this evening offers a rare opportunity to explore the philosophy and precision behind Racines wines, shaped by his deep-rooted commitment to site, restraint, and longevity. Set beneath the open sky, the dinner features a vertical tasting of Racines Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Sta. Rita Hills, Bentrock, and Sanford & Benedict vineyards—wines that speak fluently of place and time. Each flight is paired with a thoughtful course drawn from the season: oysters with pickled ramps and chives, sesame-seared salmon with yuzu ponzu, grilled picanha with summer truffles, and a curated cheese course to close.

An Outdoor Guided Tasting Overlooking the Rogue River Before the candles are lit and dinner begins, we gather outdoors—with the river just below—for a rare guided tasting that traces the arc of Étienne de Montille’s work across continents. This seated, educational tasting offers a comparative exploration of Racines and Domaine de Montille, highlighting site, vintage, and structure through the lens of Sta. Rita Hills and Burgundy. Étienne will lead the conversation, offering insight into farming decisions, cellar choices, and the philosophies that shape each wine. We’ll taste side-by-side expressions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from landmark vineyards: Wenzlau, Sanford & Benedict, La Rinconada, and Bentrock in California, alongside benchmark Burgundian terroirs like Meursault “Saint Christophe” and Beaune 1er Cru “Les Grèves”. Wines Poured – 2018 Racines Sanford & Benedict Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs – 2018 Racines Bentrock Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs – 2018 & 2021 Racines Chardonnay, Wenzlau Vineyard – 2018 de Montille Meursault “Saint Christophe” – 2017 & 2022 Racines Pinot Noir, La Rinconada Vineyard – 2020 de Montille Beaune 1er Cru “Les Grèves” Set with a view of the water and structured for those who love to learn, this tasting is a quiet but compelling prelude to the evening’s Domaine de Montille dinner. Wines will be available for purchase in limited quantities. Intimate in scale. Focused in intent. A chance to taste directly with the winemaker in a setting that matches the wines—considered, beautiful, and fully in tune with the land.

We were looking for a special experience to celebrate our 23rd anniversary. Dinner at Tu Tu Tun met and exceeded our expectations. Our server was top notch, a true professional who made us feel at home, provided the perfect level of service and privacy. We enjoyed Cowhorn wine and started with the Burrata with Variations of Beets, Granny Smith, Macadamia. It was beautiful! Dinner of beef filet and Bucatini Amatriciana. We had sides of Brussel sprouts and wedge potatoes. We also enjoyed pistachio tiramisu which was dreamy and creamy. All dishes were beautifully presented and most importantly tasted great. The lodge restaurant was peaceful and casually elegant with a large floor to ceiling stone fireplace situated in front of the bar. There was a lovely and accomplished piano player. During our conversation she played our wedding march song of Canon in D Major by Pachebel. We couldn’t believe it. We gasped as this was a wink from God validating our union was a true celebration. We were overwhelmed with emotion. After dinner we decided to take a walk down to the river. It was very peaceful and to our surprise a full rainbow right in front of us. Amazing! What a special evening and dinner. Truly memorable.

Dining at TuTu’Tun Lodge was nothing short of extraordinary. Set against the serene backdrop of the Rogue River, this meal was more than just food—it was a full sensory experience. From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality and tranquil atmosphere set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The dinner was thoughtfully curated, showcasing fresh, local ingredients with a refined, seasonal touch. Each dish felt like a love letter to the Pacific Northwest. The flavors were vibrant yet balanced, with just the right amount of creativity to surprise and delight without overpowering the integrity of the ingredients. The chef’s passion came through in every bite, and the service was impeccable—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. TuTu’Tun isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a destination for anyone who appreciates exceptional food and unforgettable moments. I can’t wait to return.

We do enjoy eating a fancy meal every once in a while. Single Thread and the French Laundry are wonderful, but not to eat on a regular basis.....Derek is our perfect chef...he cooks with the same precision at the Michelin 3 star restaurants but his menu is one that we can eat weekly and never get tired.....THAT is rare....and welcome in such a remote location. It is our favorite place to eat if we are within 1 hour.....really wonderful! Oh, the setting and staff are also attentive, friendly and personal.....really nice.
