We ate outside on a beauthe patio which overlooks the new hockey arena. We started off with deviled eggs, chips and blue cheese and calamari as appetizers. They were small plates which were great for ordering several appetizers and sharing all were very tasty. They also served a nice selections of breads: cornbread, a popover and a roll fried in duck fat - delicious but not low fat! For entrees, my husband and I had the fried chicken. Moist and delicious with a touch of heat. It was served with a kale salad with an orangey-tasting dressing and rosemary cornbread. All very good. My husband has the sangaree - a twist on sangria with cinnamon and nutmeg on top - delicious! Will definitely return!

Very nice place, the ambiance and food was great however the service was a little slow. Nevertheless they took care of our appetizer because of the slow service. They have have live music outside with outdoor bar and seating. They specialize in whiskey and american cuisine. Nice place to take your significant other.

I went with a group of friends for dinner on a Friday night. I made reservations for outside because I knew they had live music playing. The entire 3 hours we were there was amazing! It started with great service from Erica, who was attentive the entire time. The wine/beer/whiskey/specialty drink list was impressive. We ordered two appetizers to share and then each got a different entree. Everything we ate tasted absolutely delicious! My two friends are foodies and for them to say the food was good, led me to believe I was not alone in thinking the same. Sitting outside at 7th and Hamilton Streets in downtown Allentown, I was concerned about the traffic noise, but with the live duo playing fantastic music, every city noise faded.

I had a great experience with the service - everyone was friendly and cheerful and very helpful. If you like whiskey, they have a million to choose from! Drinks were great. Food was really good, but not exceptional. Mac n Cheese - amazing! Fried chicken- really good! But shrimp and grits....eh it was ok. Dessert- we had the peach special..nothing too amazing. Presentation was nice but it didnt taste that great, but the honey ice cream was good. So overall 4 out of 5 for me. And I will definitely come back to try it again! Maybe for lunch or brunch!

Dined here for Sunday brunch. The fresh-squeezed orange juice in the screwdriver was just a sample of the fresh ingredients that are used in all of the dishes. The menu is inventive and the chef takes some interesting twists on brunch standards. The omelets were very good, with fresh and high-end ingredients, but slightly overdone for my taste. The service was attentive but not intrusive. The restaurant interior is eclectic and a great place for people-watching. Based on the menu, dinner should be a fabulous experience, but if you're there for brunch, don't pass up the house-made doughnuts--they are out of this world!!! The Hamilton Kitchen will do very well and should become a Lehigh Valley staple for interesting, good food.

Any restaurant that has a wall of bourbons and whiskeys deserves all star rating in my book. However the food at Hamilton Kitchen took it to the next level. Everything has a home cooked feel to it. The grits and gnocchi were simply delicious, and I highly recommend the older old fashion (by far the best old fashion I have ever had). I can't wait to go back!

Take the plunge! Visit this restaurant! Pricing was reasonable and choices abounded. The extensive bourbon list would make a bourbon drinker swoon and the ambience has that subtle undercurrent of buzz, yet my group of friends and I were able to catch up easily without shouting. But you go to experience the food: We had the calamari appetizer which was crispy and crunchy. I could have used slightly less breading (I'm very picky about my calamari) but the aioli was excellent with a hint of chili and lime. The gnocchi with the pork ragu looked excellent and was deemed tasty as well and the black mission fig salad (arugula, fig, brie! and white balsalmic dressing)was an awesome mix of flavor and well presented. Kudos to this new venture!

Friday evening reservation worked well, valet parking is convenient. great indoor and outdoor bar scene. Food was very good and some very nice unusual dining options. I liked the Striped bass. Service at the outdoor tables was very slow- it took 20 minutes to get our first drink. This I chalked up to rookie servers. We will return.

Loved the restaurant look ! Service was a little uneven, I think due to inexperience. Entrees were served lukewarm at best. Being a fan of the owners other restaurants, preferred the martini preparation at their other restaurants over The Kitchen. Wine list was solid, casual offering looked interesting. We will return in a few months as they iron out their start up glitches.

Tried this new restaurant for the first time on a Wednesday night. What a great vibe on a summer evening downtown. People enjoying drinks and live music on the patio, creative and tasty food, friendly and attentive servers, great decor and atmosphere. A nice blend of upscale and comfortable. Hamilton Kitchen is a fine addition to the new and improved downtown Allentown.

Bar service was terrible. I got my drink but my husband got his about 15 min later while at bar. Same bad bar service when sitting at our table. Our friend waited 20 min for his second drink. Food was good but not enough for the price. No starch included with meal. Ordered French fries and served to us halfway through our meal. Waitress was excellent. She apologized for the bad bar service and late food delivery. Will not go back.

Food at The Hamilton is excellent. Be warned, most starters are of a size to be shared. Especially good starters were the Cheese Curds and the Tuna Tartare. Especially good dinners were the Seafood Stew and the Shrimp with Grits (although they could have served half the amount of grits.) It's very nice that they put carafes of flat and/or sparkling water on the table and replace them as necessary. Another interesting thing is they have some wines "on tap" - served from a cask/keg in a carafe in a full bottle volume. The Chardonnay was excellent and at ideal temp. I suspect they are working through some service issues as this is a very new restaurant. We kept that in mind and had a very enjoyable evening. The interiors are beautiful!

The Hamilton is a great new spot in downtown Allentown. There was valet parking, which was very convenient. The ambience was great and more importantly the food was delicious. We ordered shrimp(jumbo) cocktail and calamari for appetizers and they were both delicious. I also ordered the Tomoto soup that was so rich and creamy. We ordered the pork chop ( so tender, by far the best we've ever had), ribeye(perfect cut), sea bass (fresh and delicious). The desserts were also phenomenal! Very friendly staff too! We will definitely be coming back for more.
