Service was great, Food was excellent! Much of the food is made there - you won' find pre-made food from the freezer. The exception is the cheese, of course. Kid's popcorn chicken is made fresh there, not from the freezer like is usually the case for kids meals, and it was tasty and light without a heavy breading. This is a perfect place for a full dinner or even just a glass of wine and a cheese platter. The only problems we encountered, which were minor, was a wobbly table (which the waitress did try to fix) and the reservation we made through their website didn't get to them, but they were able to seat us without a problem. It was Jazz night, which is why the noise level was up that night. And the open kitchen is fun and clean!

My husband and I drove over an hour to get to the restaurant. It was so worth the drive. They have an excellent cheese selection that you can buy in their store. Our food was delicious as well. I had to try the 4 cheese mac and cheese. It was a large portion and I ended up taking a good bit home to enjoy later. My husband had one of their specials which was a granola crusted cod over risotto. He thought it was delicious. We will definitely go back!

Say Cheese! is fantastic for nicer dinners, beautiful lunches and fun Sunday brunches. Gluten free bread is available for all sandwiches, and all gluten free sandwiches come with DELICIOUS sweet potato fries instead of French fries or potato chips. Love love how helpful and understanding they are with gluten free needs. Also, tomato soup is gf! I'll go to this restaurant any chance I get.

I was a little skeptical of this restaurant at first... when you walk in, it looks more like a deli than a restaurant, and I expected the menu to reflect that initial vibe. But, I took a look at the menu and thought they had some really interesting dishes I would like to try that were not "deli-like". I sat outside and was able to enjoy the cute ambiance that West Reading has to offer. I started with some assorted meats and cheeses... all I can say is WOW.... I am already itching to go back (even just for the cheese). Dinner was just as delicious and the service fabulous. I recommend this place for just about any occasion and will definitely be returning in the near future!

I went to Say Cheese! on a whim based on other online reviews. We wanted to sit outside as it was a beautiful evening but all seats were taken, however they have a couple indoor seats surrounded by windows that make you feel like you're outside anyway which worked out even better as someone was smoking a cigar outside. We had the cheese and wine pairing as an appetizer which was great. We each had a soup and salad for our entree. The cream of asparagus and the artichoke bisque were both delicious and we couldn't figure out which one we liked best. He had the smoked salmon over the house salad, there was plenty of salmon and the dressing was good. I had the chicken Caesar salad which was yummy as well. I would definitely recommend visiting!

Starting with the service (very sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable server) to the ambiance (love the window seating) to the delicious and unique menu (ricotta strawberry buschetta starter to die for, wonderfully fresh salad with flavorful house dressing, homemade bread that I wish was for sale so I could take it home with me, and steak prepared exactly the way we asked) my husband and I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. We will definitely return again and again!

My colleagues and I dine out every few weeks together and we always pick a new spot. The ambience was intimate. Our server was great. The bread... the bread was wonderful and then you dip it in their seasoned olive oil and it was fantastic. I had the ricotta and pea ravioli with arugula in a brown butter sauce. AH-MAZING. The drinks were fantastic too. I had the Basil Finch, and the Pensyltini. Delish! I ended my dinner off with the rice pudding with bourbon soaked raisins. Creamy, and not too sweet. My husband requested I ordered him their famous smoked salmon mac and cheese to take home. All in all a wonderful meal and great experience.

Really good food and now a nice, budget priced wine list. Our only disappointment was the inattentive service, our server took a long time to get to us initially and later gave us someone else's take home container. Lovely little cheese shop and great atmosphere.

I have had brunch and lunch here and found it decent albeit, a tad pricey, so I thought I would try it for dinner. The crab cakes, at $27 were lousy- low on crab meat, high on filler. The waitress rushed us through our meal even though the restaurant was more than half empty. Finally, the atmosphere is similar to a train station or airport restaurant with some high priced details (like the wonderful fans) but otherwise loud and barn like. I do not recommend.

What a wonderful restaurant. I've been there three times now and the food and service have both been consistently outstanding. The menu, while limited, is broad enough to cover everyone's taste. I have had their lamb and lentil soup and most recently, the artichoke soup with its taste of lemon. Both really, really good. The four cheese macaroni and cheese with salmon was killer! All this and I have not mentioned the neat appetizer and dessert menus. You will not be disappointed.

We've been wanting to try Say Cheese for quite some time now as we live only blocks away. Our server was fantastic. Extremely friendly, efficient, and made great suggestions. Started off with an order of Frickles (My husband loves pickles) and an order of the Sweet Potato Fries w/ Raspberry Mayo. Both items were pretty good. My husband ordered the Smoked Salmon Mac and Cheese for his entree, and I ordered the special, Arctic Char w/ Lemongrass Vinaigrette and Asparagus and Rice. I tried his dish, thought it was pretty tasty. My fish was cooked PERFECTLY, but a little salty, still tasted good. The asparagus was delicious as well. My rice was a tad on the dry side, but overall the dish was good. I also had the pear streudel for dessert.

I've been to Say Cheese a few times and have always considered it a bright spot in Reading's rather bleak restaurant scene. My most recent visit was a little disappointing though. It wasn't the environment, menu or the meal, which all met or exceeded my expectations, it was the service. The server, who appeared to be working hard and moving swifly, seemed overwhelmed. Between the side dish that never came, the glass that was requested and never provided or the beverage ordered before the meal was served and arrived only as the meal was ending, it all added up to a bit of frustration over what could have been another exemplory experience. Overall, I'd recommend say cheese, but hopefully their service will be better when you're there.

I made a 4:30 reservation for this past Saturday. The resturant switches over between 4-4:30, so I wanted to catch them for their dinner specials. Got there at 4 and was seated right away. Server came to take my order and I asked if he could tell me the specials. He said they didn't know them yet but would know what they were at 4:30. Seemed a little odd to me that going into a dinner service they don't know what the specials are. So we ordered an app and waited. 4:30 came and went 4:40 came and went....finally at 4:45 I flagged down the server and asked if he knew the specials. His answer was no, not yet. I had to wait until 5:15 to find out what the specials were. The owner walked by a few times but never stopped to ask. Disappointing!

My husband and I have dined at Say Cheese may times due to the excellent food & service. I absolutely love the "grown-up" version of grilled cheese and the mac & cheese is the best. We just visited and the sweet potato fries with the raspberry dip are always our staple appetizer (you can't go wrong). My husband ordered the smoke salmon mac & cheese, which was excellent and included plenty of smoked salmon. The best part about this place if that if there is an issue (which can happen anywhere) you are always taken care of immediately without any excuses or hesitation. I love this place. If you like a variety of cheese inspired dishes & desserts Say Cheese will NOT let you down. I'd eat there again tonight if I could talk my husband into it!

We've dined at the restaurant several times in the past few months. The menu is interesting, and the place is always busy. Quality of food and service varies, though. Sometimes servers are attentive and sometimes not. Sometimes, our meal can be delicious, with soup served at just the right temperature and the seasonings on entrees just right. Sometimes things can be served cold, undercooked, or over salted. We experienced all of these things on our last visit, but management was good about rectifying the situation, and we did enjoy our French Onion soup, wild boar shepherd's pie, and duck cooked two ways. Our dessert of pear strudel with homemade ice cream was very good as well.
