Honeysuckle is more than a restaurant. It’s a network of community spaces centered around the values of ancestry, nourishment, and reclamation that was founded by James Beard Award Semifinalists Chef Omar Tate and Chef Cybille St.Aude-Tate. In 2022 they opened Honeysuckle Provisions, an award winning afro-centric grocery/cafe and food-focused community space located in West Philadelphia.     It was an absolutely incredible experience! Every piece of the meal from the tasting menu to the wine pairings to the plates they’re served on was thought out and deliberate. Dishes taste familiar but they’re the best possible versions of them. I’m still thinking about those hush puppies and the potato salad. We weren’t overly hungry so we skipped the McDonald’s Money burger but I’ll definitely be back soon to try it! Everyone is sleeping on this place. You need to go!

    Another fine dining experience at Honeysuckle. Enjoyed a luscious red cocktail in honor of Juneteenth and had a delicious meal--pickled collard as an amuse bouche, a special bread with butter and compote, hush puppies with thinly sliced country ham (amazing), "black caesar" (a very delicious salad) and the seafood alfredo (with freshly made noodles, lobster, crab, shrimp and more in a delicate creamy sauce--yum, yum, yum!) paired with a pleasant sauvignon blanc, and a dessert (with custard, pickled berries and mini-meringues). Very satisfying and a good value for the quality of the food and service. Food is locally sourced and the experimentation with sauces and fermentation takes things to the next level. Service is very friendly and professional. Ambience is warm (and cool), very inviting. One of the top five restaurants in Phila.

    Where do I start, Honeysuckle is a never forgetting experience with a burst of flavor profiles that you probably haven’t had before!! Everything tasted fresh like the ingredients were hand picked! Every dish was also explained in “DETAIL” to us by our waiter and food runner from the kitchen. Outstanding customer service at its best it was my first time here and I loved everything about the new experience. Thank you! Honeysuckle for hosting my amazing date night, I will definitely be coming back.

    We chose Honeysuckle for a special celebration—my husband’s 60th—and it absolutely exceeded expectations. The pre-fixe menu was thoughtfully curated and properly portioned, and every dish was a celebration of Afrocentric cuisine elevated to fine dining in a way we’d never experienced before. We left full and satisfied. Standouts included the deviled eggs with blue crab and the perfectly fried plantain to start. The Daily Harvest dip, served with beautifully fresh and unique vegetables and housemade seeded crackers, was both creative and delicious. The service was exceptional—warm, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. The complimentary drinks were personalized to our tastes, adding an extra thoughtful touch to the evening. Honeysuckle is hands down James Beard Award-worthy and deserves Michelin star recognition. We’re already planning our return visit for our anniversary. A truly unforgettable dining experience!

    The only reason value is 4 stars is I'm not sure the drink pairing is worth it since you pick the drinks (vs what goes best with each course). But the food, ambiance were outstanding. Everything is so intentional from the plates to the art and the staff is great

    This is one of the best meals we’ve had this year. The room is beautiful, but the real artistry is in the food. Each dish was delicious! You can’t go wrong here! The most surprising dishes were the Haitian spaghetti and maitake mushrooms—highly recommend both. Also the miso ice cream/benne sundae was unbelievably good. It was just the two of us this time, but this seems like a great place to come with a group—they have a number of tables that seat 6-8 people. The vibes are really friendly and happy. We received a complimentary glass of sake by the young man who actually made it and learned all about how he did so. Our only minor complaint had to do with the pacing between courses; we appreciated not feeling rushed the way some restaurants do, but our dinner ended up being almost three hours long which is a long time to stay seated (though they do encourage you to get up and check out the artworks and cool objects in the space). Next time we might try eating a la carte at the beautiful bar. We felt lucky to have a brief conversation with Omar Tate and he says the menu is going to change up soon—we will be back! This is a very special place!

    The menu at Honeysuckle is as delicious as it is creative. It is rooted in Afrocentric culinary tradition and many many of the delicious dishes are prepared from ingredients grown on their farm in Bucks County. I particularly recommend the deviled eggs appetizer, elevated by crab and scotch bonnets, but everything ordered by our table was perfection.
