Cindy's is a favorite. We had a new server, Erin, and loved her. We were very well taken care of by Phil. He even brought a pillow over when my friend commented that her back was bothering her. Will go back many, many times.

I was very pleased with the service at this restaurant. We come to Cindys everytime we are in Napa, but this visit was exceptionally wonderful. We were late to our reservation due to traffic and were running late to our wine tastings and a gentlemannot the host i believe he may have been a manager really helped us out. He seated us in a private area and served us himself so that we wouldnt miss any of our tasting appointments. Very please with this visit.

Cindy's is by far my favorite restaurant in the Napa Valley. The food is wonderful and the service is the best you can find. For an area where food and wine are the draws, good service is certainly lacking, but not at Cindy's! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and makes you feel comfortable. I can't wait to go back again!!! The Campfire Pie is a must!!!

  • The appetizer Oyster Pablo
    OpenTable Diner Since 2005
    Dined on 4/13/2008
The appetizer Oyster Pablo was outstanding. The Caesar salad was poor, underdressed and hard to mess with as it was whole romaine leafs. Which apparently is the 'in' thing to do with salads now. My meatloaf was good and my husband at first loved his duck but found it almost too much work messing and searching for the meat. So he helped me finish my meatloaf...great bbq sauce. Pineapple upsidedown cake was amazing. So how's that for info? Waitress was good..place was not busy. Don't know if it was the night or what. We went there because we usually love Mustards and thought we would try it out. Would go back for oysters and dessert at the bar.

We had the curry chicken salad and the meatloaf and split the white bean and butternut squash soup. Also enjoyed the campfire pie. Drove 60 miles to try the restaurant, after seeing it on the food channel on Giada's Weekend Getaway. The wait staff was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We would definitely go back, it was worth the drive.

An old favorite disappointed this time. Service was very spotty, our wine bottle untouched for pouring by anyone but us. Felt lost in the shuffle, not the usual Cindy's experience. Lamb chop entre was stingy -- two tiny chops? We'll be back, but not till the memory fades a bit.

The food was wonderful & our waiter was attentive. The one problem we had was there were two teenage girls dining beside us (not much room between tables), they tended to be loud & as we were served our dinner a third teenager arrived which just made it uncomfortable as the table was really for two people, so they were infringing on us. I was surprised to see teenagers spending that much money on a restaurant. (the third girl did not order food, but picked off her friends plate!!). We would dine there again, hopefully this was just a once off thing. Clare

We 3 were there for lunch, the "vibrant bar scene" doesn't start till later. We all ordered salads and shared---a great idea because the dishes are all so good and not like you get anywhere else. Plus we ordered the new flat bread and scarfed that up in no time. Reason to check the scenic view---the garden is lovely and the wine train is a neat sight as it goes by at lunch time.

    Dined on 4/4/2008
Excellent service - she was very friendly and attentive enough but not too attentive. Service at the bar on our first trip was also excellent - Marty was great but the hostess (shorter, petite one was a bit snooty). Oysters were so good at our first lunch that we were planning a trip back to Cindy's just for those! Unfortunately, they were better the first time (too much topping that wasn't cooked enough); rabbit tostadas were really tasty. My hangar steak was ordered medium but came out well, well done and very tough - looked good on the outside but disappointing. The cuban sandwiches were really good, though. We'll be back to try other items - and we'll be sure to leave enough time for dessert

It was just as wonderful. Food was to die for, drinks were yummy & the service rocked. Can we get a Cindy's in Colorado?

    OpenTable Diner Since 2007
    Dined on 3/28/2008
Having eaten at Mustard's, this restaurant didn't meet our expectations. Location, service, and ambience were excellent; however, some of the food items were not. The Ceasar salad was way over-dressed with 'gloppy' dressing. Also, the waitress offered to serve the fish sandwich without the bun when my husband thought it was fish and chips. Unfortunately, the fish was soggy and not what my husband expected. Also, the slaw salad, made of celery root and raw red peppers, was too heavy on the raw red peppers, but the fries were wonderful. My dinner, however was excellent. I ordered three appetizers - the flatbread, roasted artichoke, and oysters. My choices were imaginative and well-prepared, met my expectations, and I enjoyed the meal!

Wasn't sure why we were relegated to the upstairs, since there were plenty of tables down. It would have been nice to be offered a choice upon entering. The waiter was pleasant, but seemed disoriented as if he were high or something. He seemed confused and a bit pompous. The food was GREAT!!! Had eaten there before, and didn't remember how good it was. That was a pleasant surprise. We are not wine people, so we ordered n/a beverages, which were excellent.

Superb comfort food with excellent flavors. Try the crispy flatbread appetizer. Delicious loose leaf tea served in individual iron teapots. If you have a sweet tooth save room for any of the fabulous dessert offerings. Food is served at a leisurely pace so don't expect to rush through a meal here - take time to savor the experience. We loved Michael H., our wait person - he was witty, charming, and very helpful in making menu selections. Don't miss the opportunity to dine at Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen when you are passing through the town of St. Helena.
