After entering through the loud packed bar area, I was afraid the restaurant would be too noisy, however I asked for a quiet table and shown one in the rear of the dining room. The food was unique and fabulous. My husband had the special Veal Osso Bucco on Saffron Risotto which was "fall of the bone" tender and I had the Asparagus Soup with Truffle Oil and Poached Egg which was to die for. I recommend highly the Crispy Risotto appetizer which I noticed was served as bar food. It was devine and highly memorable. Service was right on except for one slow to arrive glass of wine. Too dark and romantic for my taste, married age 66, but I can assure you, most patrons were young. Dine after 8 to avoid families w/kids. Bon appetit!

If they use a little less salt, I would rate it outstanding. The service was wonderful and the meals are creative and enjoyable. The gnochetti with lamb ragu was stellar, but it did have too much salt which made it difficult to finish. I would return to give it another chance.

Dinner was fine, service excellent. Wine list on the high side. One downer, while leaving, was the high school girls attending their prom, who took over the Women's room with their various excesses. A word to the wise about this event might have been helpful, but teenagers are nothing if not unpredictable, so what are you going to do? Maybe periodic visits by female hotel staff or a rest room attendant (usually superfluous but on this occasion needed.)

The food was excellent; my only constructive feedback was regarding the menus. They looked like they were photocopied (black & white) on plain office paper and the text was *very* small. So that aspect of the restaurant was unimpressive.

The restaurant was beautiful and the orchids given for Mother's Day were a great ad. The biggest problem I noticed was some marketing person got a bit too overzealous on the menu - the descriptions were over-fancified and didn't match what we got. Also, on one order we got some kind of fried balls (which we thought was white anchovies) - turns out the waiter just brought the wrong thing and presented it as what we had ordered (anchovies). The dish was clearly not - it was fried polenta.

The service was terrible and the food wasn't all that great, either. The waiter ignored us for most of the time. The table was cleared and nobody asked us if we needed any dessert or anything. We sat there for 10 minutes, without anyone coming over to our table. I'd skip this one and save your money for better quality restaurants not fake ones like this! Just say No to Ducca!

I dined here because it was voted as one of SF top restaurants. I found the food very good but there was not one dish that outstanding. I thought the olive oil served for dipping of bread was superb. But that is not a culinary delight, just a good olive oil. The cheese course was very large and served a group of 3 nicely.

beautiful restaurant/bar; interesting combinations of ingredients that one doesn't encounter often (black polenta, pea tendrils, etc). Was dubious about the balsamic and olive oil gelatos, but they were delicious with the desserts served with (chocolate brownie and almond crostini respectively). Was even surprised to find a speciality cocktail (Trident) made from the unique artichoke liquer, Cynar. Waitress was very friendly, informative, directed us appropriately with food selection and explaination of unfamiliar menu items. Excellent cheese plate: blue cheese and blackberry jam, an amazing combination...Great experience!

We went there to celebrate my husband's birthday. We picked it over other restaurants because it had made the Chronicle Top 100 Restaurants. We learned to regret the decision!! Everything was VERY SALTY! We had petrale sole and it was oversalted; we had the pea sprouts and it was oversalted; we had the fried polenta and it was oversalted! NOT a great celebration especially since my husband is on a low salt diet. Have no idea why this restaurant made the top 100 at all! Would not recommend it to anyone.

The food was fantastic. The service was not great. We ordered the cheese platter as an appetizer and a couple of glasses of wine; the cheese came promptly. After trying to flag down our waiter, we begged the bus boy to get our wine for us as the cheese was meant to pair with the wine. The wine finally came but quite late. It may have been due to the very busy crowd at the bar, but the diners should not suffer because the bar is busy. The main course was wonderful. Would definitely dine here again if the service picks up.

I'd give the food an A- and the service about the same. It was an enjoyable early dinner. The only problem we had was that there was a horribly drunk group of gals and guys in the bar lounge (likely on a tourist/convention visit) that were making so much noise (especially the women) that it was painful. I had to yell at them to shut up, which surprised the heck out of them (and me). Otherwise, the dining experience was fine.

The noise level was so bad we could not carry on a conversation. The food was very ,very good but I will not be back until the noise level is corrected. A real shame. Large groups need to be separated from the general dining public as that seems to be the source of the most overwhelming noise.
