THE BEST CALAMARI I'VE EVER HAD! OUR ENTREES WERE EXCELLENT. (SWORDFISH TOPPED WITH JUMBO LUMP CRABMEAT) WASNT REAL CRAZY ABOUT BACKGROUND MUSIC. IT IS BILLED AS MEDITERRANEAN CUISINE, BUT THE MID-EAST MUSIC KIND OF TOOK AWAY FROM THE OTHERWISE ROMANTIC MOOD. (VOLUME COULD HAVE BEEN TURNED DOWN A NOTCH) OTHERWISE AN OUTSTANDING DINING EXPERIENCE. WE WILL RETURN!

2 of 3 entrees were very good but a shrimp entrée was overcooked, so I would suggest you avoid it. Same with dessert - 2 were good but a cannoli cake was either overdone or kept beyond it's freshness expiry date because it was very dry and needed a drink to wash it down. Our server was mostly absent and not very helpful. Although she answered questions we had, we wish we had the server from the table next to ours because she reviewed the menu with them, gave more information than what was on the menu about each dish, checked with them frequently about their meals, and was very warm and friendly. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant, but service and food could be a bit better.

We eat here throughout the year as it has been one of our few go to places that we know we can always count on. Nothing slips at the Pier House. My wife loves the whole Bronzino and I frequently have the Sea Bass. However, you could close your eyes and throw a dart at the menu and still get something superb.

Words can't adequately describe the flavors, presentation, combinations and outright delicious plates that are prepared. Being from NYC, I have tasted so many good plates, but I was so impressed with the food. Each plate was its own wonderful adventure. Crisp clean flavorful ingredients out together to create a terrific expiernce. Highly recommended !!!

The restaurant was beautiful n it's right on the water. The waitress came by and told us about their daily specials: grilled founders, bronzino and red snapper. She proudly explained that fish is the thing to get here, that is caught and brought to them daily. we were sold n ordered the grilled snapper.however when the fish arrived, it was deep-fried. if they did not charge us such steep price, we would just let it go. The waitress seemed to be very apologetic and quickly she got us the grilled branzino which was very lovely. Later when the bill came, both fish were on there. We questioned the waitress and she quickly bought her manager to our table. The manager can hardly contain her anger when she arrived to our table. will we return? NO!

4 of us dined and had great appetizers including the octopus, tuna and potato leek with crab soup all were outstanding. The watermelon and feta salad was terrific. Entrees included the veal chop, NY strip, Pork Chop and PH Balance their version of surf and turf all were presented beautifully, cooked to correct temperature and tasted great. The service by Carlo was impeccable. Best dinner in a very long time.

Visited as a group of 6 girls celebrating a friend's upcoming nuptials. The martinis were perfection, including a "Grape martini" which tasted surprisingly natural (no artificial cough medicine grape flavor). The "Mango Martini" was a bit too syrupy sweet, but the "Pear Martini" was fabulous (just ask them to go light on the simple syrup). Many of us ordered salads or appetizers as our entrees, and every dish was delicious, especially the Watermelon Feta Salad, the Octopus (our culinary-minded friend from New York City said it was the best she'd ever had), and the Kalamari (so delicately & lightly fried, with 3 intriguing sauces to dip). Nice servers too - we requested a small dessert to honor the bride, and they happily acquiesced.

One of our favorite Cape May restaurants. The noise level was a little loud on Saturday night as the place was packed (with a number of large parties). Still the food outshines the need to raise your voice to be heard. From salads to hot & cold apps, I don't think we've ever had something we didn't enjoy. The Voodoo Pork chop was outstanding, charred on the outside, moist on the inside and full of flavor. As always the whole Red Snapper, flash fried, was fantastic along with the trio of dipping sauces. We keep trying to save room for our own desserts, but wind up sharing something (and not even finishing that - we are so full)! The service staff is outstanding and quite knowledgeable about the menu as well as the preparation of the food.

This was my first experience at the Pier House and I hope it won't be my last. From the time my parents and I entered their restaurant we were treated like gold! The entire staff was friendly, the food was incredibly delicious. I had the "dirty" steak which I recommend to anyone that enjoys a wonderful steak, which was cooked to perfection to my request of well done. The atmosphere was relaxing and the ambiance was delightful.

Love this place. In the quiet part of Cape May, especially in off season (late April) only open Thursday thru Sunday. Food was good, service as always very good. Husband had veal chop, good but mostly all bone!!! I had salmon which was very good. Hard to compare this place with our other favorite restaurant in Cape May, which is outstanding but always seem to go back here when we visit. Like the location and atmosphere.

We have been here before and loved it. I was at work and decided to reserve through open table. Didn't work out well. Reservations were mixed up but Pier House was able to seat us. Next time will reserve directly through Pier House. They told us this wasn't the first reservation messed up by open table. Lesson learned. I would recommend the Pier House but not open table.

My wife and I decided to get out of the city of Philadelphia for Easter dinner and visit a restaurant we frequent when we stay at the Le Mer Inn in Cape May NJ. We love this eatery; service is friendly and accommodating from management, bartender and wait staff. The food is excellent not only in taste but also in presentation. It's been a long winter and going to dinner at the Pier House was a real treat as we look forward to many return visits throughout the summer

I had the crab cakes they were GREAT..My husband had the lamb special he said it left a bad after taste. My son had a shrimp dish 6 shrimp?? Vodka and tonic $10 in a small glass was more than a little pricey. Total bill for 3 people no apps, 2 beers and 1 drink...$105 plus tip. Not worth it. Our server was very good and knew the menu..Not a comfortable place. They put us in a corner booth even though the place was empty. Don't think I will return.

We were a party of seven. The Caesar was good having flavor & was topped with parmesan. The entree's were basic, but tasty with good portions. The only issue we had was one of our orders was missed. It took so long to come out that we all had finished eating but continued to wait easily 30 minutes or more for it to arrive. The waiter kept apologizing. My husband & I shared the key lime pie which was good. My niece and sister shared a chocolate bomb (not actually sure what it was called). They both enjoyed that. Those that had coffee said it was a good cup.We understand mistakes happen, so overall there were no complaints except for the time it took to get our missing dish. Perhaps a free dessert for our niece would have been in order.

We love The Pier House! Often bring guests here, the menu is diverse and food is always perfectly prepared and presented. Service is friendly and competent. Drinks are generous and the bar is pleasant and congenial. The ocean is right across the street, and, weather permitting, the outdoor dining space is roomy and comfortable and the view completes a great meal. My favorite is a long lazy lunch with my Sis or other girlfriend and a long walk followed by a siesta on the beach! Heaven!

The food was very good and we enjoyed the meal; however, our server could have been more attentive and a bit friendlier. He did not return to our table enough to attend to our needs. He was more than happy to bring us more wine, but my husband was drinking iced tea and was never offered a re-fill. My husband told our server that it was my birthday, he brought the dessert tray instead of providing a dessert with a candle. We were a party of 4 and celebrate our birthdays by going to our favorite restaurants and this was the first time that the birthday person has not been wished a happy birthday and given a dessert. A little disappointed.

We had expected that going out for dinner would mean sitting in a dining room. We were not given the option of choosing between the dining room and bar area. We were ushered into the bar area and "told" that "we wouldn't mind" and that the menu would be the same. In fact, we did mind and had to sit through our dinner hearing everyone's somewhat loud bar conversation from our adjacent booth. For what we paid, I didn't feel this was fair. I expected a quiet, pleasant night out for dinner.

We usually visit the Pire House a few times a year. Nothing much has changed (good thing). The Tuna is excellent, the portion is large and the price is very good as compared to other resturants. My wife ordered the whole Branzino which was good, however there were a feww bones to deal with. Probably will not order it again. The resturant will not filet the whole fish for you. The noise is usually at a high level do to the small dining room. The bar is excellent as is the bartender.
