A word from The Restaurant at Alderbrook
Our location brings out the best in fresh local seafood, dry aged beef, world-class wines and waterfront views - making The Restaurant at Alderbrook a destination in itself.

The interior setting of The Restaurant at Alderbrook takes its inspiration from the outdoors with warm colors of chocolate brown and sage green representing the gardens and lawn of the resort. Floor-to-ceiling windows and multi-levels amplify views of the brilliant shore and snow-capped peaks of the Olympic Mountains.

The cuisine showcases local seafood harvested from Puget Sound and Hood Canal. After all, our shores are encrusted with oysters, our docks lined with mussels, and our sea teems with salmon.

Our server was able to answer all our questions and our food came in a fair amount of time. there was a mess up on the type of drink we ordered and when we told her she immediately took it back to the bar to be fixed. the problem was it took almost 15min to get another one back and we were almost done eating. at the end she was gone for a very long period of time and all we wanted was the check and to go back to our room.

We were at the resort for a special occasion (anniversary) and there aren't many (if any) alternatives that I'm aware of. We dined there two nights. In both cases, service was very good. Overall, everything we tried was very good, but it can be a bit overwhelming -- maybe a little out of balance. Portions are large, and the offerings tend to be pretty rich. That's where I think the balance could come in. My main dish the first evening was duck served over fettuccine, it was great but huge and overwhelmingly rich with butter and cream. It needed some acid or something to help cut into the richness. As the room fills up, it gets very noisy. I know that many restaurants think that's a good thing, but I don't get it. It's pricey.

THIS WAS OUR FIRST VISIT TO ALDERBROOK RESORT. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK , AND MAINLY FOR THE FOOD. WE HAD BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER. THE HALIBUT FISH AND CHIPS WERE ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER EATEN. THE DINNER MENU MADE IT HARD TO CHOOSE, BUT FINALLY SETTLED ON PRIME RIB, WHILE MY BETTER HALF ORDERED THE VEAL CHOP. 5 STAR QUALITY FOOD ALL AROUND. I HAD THE CONTINENTAL FOR BREAKFAST, BECAUSE I WAS STILL FULL FROM DINNER THE NIGHT BEFORE, AND WAS GLAD I DID. THE SCONES WERE SUPERB, AND I COULD ONLY EAT ONE, SO GOT TO TAKE ONE HOME FOR BREAKFAST THE NEXT DAY. THE SERVICE COULDN'T HAVE BEEN BETTER. SO LOOKING FORWARD TO DOING THIS AGAIN SOON. WE ARE RECOMMENDING IT TO EVERYONE WHO ASKS ABOUT OUR TRIP, (AND EVEN THOSE WHO DON'T ASK!).

My fiance and I have been meaning to come here forever and we finally made it a year and a half later. Between the food and view, it's just about the best getaway restaurant around. Sunday has sort of a brunch/lunch menu, but we both opted for lunch. I have the Kobe burger and she had chicken sandwich, both of which were perfect. We started with the crabcakes, which are pretty pricey, but totally worth it. Make sure if you come all this way for food you take the time to walk around the beautifully landscaped ground, and stay the night if you can! It's an amazing place.

The food was very good. I had steamer clams and salmon. I enjoyed the atmosphere very much at both the indoor and outdoor restaurants. The servers in the outdoor restaurant were superior to those working inside which is odd as inside is more formal. After reading the mixed reviews on your web site, I had concern about my reservation, but turned out to be very surprised at the negative reviews. The service was great, the food was excellent, and the view was spectacular. We would highly recommend anyone to have dinner at Alderbrook and look forward to going back ourselves. We were very pleased by the quality and quantity of food. I have paid a lot more, for a lot less at “top restaurants”. We had the cooked oysters for an appetizer, they were excellent. My wife had the crab cakes for dinner and loved them. I had the sea scallops and they were perfectly prepared (and I am picky). Before our meal was finished, we were already planning return trips and who we would bring with us.

We came in for breakfast for 3. We asked to be seated outside, but they said that didn't start until noon, even though it was 72 outside at 9:45 am. They offered to have us order to go and we could take our food out there and eat?? Really? So they sat us by the window with a view of the sun shining on the outdoor patio with the people who chose the to go option....whatever. The food was ok, nothing spectacular. We drove from Elma so it was a long drive for ok food. I had the garden omelet w/ a side of apple dumpling. just ok. My mother built her own omelet ordered spinach in it but didn't get any. All around just ok. We may eat here again if we actually stay at Alderbrook.

My daughter and I had dinner there for a special occasion. A large party arrived just prior to our reservation so our meal was very late. Thankfully, we didn't have a rushed time frame for dinner. The waitress and the scenery made up for the long wait. I was surprised how loud it was, but I don't think my daughter noticed.

The food was incredibly overpriced for what it was. Had it been less expensive, I might say it was better, but close to $40 for a chicken dish is kind of crazy. The waitstaff were very cheerful and pleasant, but the restaurant had little or no ambiance. They are the only place around and know it, if you get my drift.

We have had two memorable brunches at Alderbrook this year, Easter and Mother's Day. Easter was a wonderful day and the hotel is to be congratulated for making it such a wonderful time for the kids. The egg hunt and decorating made it extra special and the events were enjoyed by all. The buffet was wonderful and the seafood (shrimp, oysters, salmon, mussels) was particularly good. Because of the great time we had on Easter we returned for Mother's Day and we were all glad we did. The food was as good if not better than before and we were delighted to have the same server, Aleiha. She was extremely personable and helpful as before, keeping our drinks topped off and readying our table for the next serving- many thanks!

Over the years we have enjoyed quite a few meals at the Alderbrook, where we stay when we visit old friends in the area. This evening was no exception. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, enough that we took a reverent moment to enjoy the visual impact of each dish before digging in. The restauant's setting is incomparable, and we are glad that they work to maintain a menu and service that are worthy of the setting. Our server was attentive, patient, and refreshingly droll. All in all a delightful experience.

Had we been ravenous, we could offer a better review. As it was, we had a late lunch in the lounge earlier and weren't able to try a more robust dinner. It was a fabulous menu, however! The chef must be very inventive and well-versed in cuisines from all over. We had shrimp and Caesar salads and they were very good. The chicken was warm on the Caesar salad, which I appreciate but do not often get when ordering. My husband thought his shrimp salad was excellent, plenty of food there. Tables for two are a bit small-ish, but the view is utterly breathtaking as we watched dusk approach over the mountains and water. Thank you for a delightful meal, served by knowledgeable staff.

With the high prices we were expecting exceptional food. In our party of 6 no one was overly impressed. One of the greatest disappointments was the beet salad. We felt it was completely misrepresented. It was, in fact, nothing more than a plate of spinach with a very few pieces of beet on top. Crab cakes were however, exceptional.

Absolutely beautiful scenery here at the Alderbrook (breakfast & dinner). I ordered the duck carbonara of which was very tasty & a pretty good portion size. I happen to order dessert but was unfortunatley too full to finish (Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp). As for the bar, they were pretty busy but they didn't cut short on the alcohol. Very strong drinks & not for the light hearted. Overall, I had a great experience at the Alderbrook & would attend at a later time.

My husband I loved The Restaurant at Alderbrook. For dinner I started with the coconut black bean soup and had the filet mignon as my main course. Both dishes had amazing flavor and stood out as featuring fresh ingredients. My husband enjoyed his mussels and elk chops. The elk chops were the most tender elk chops he had ever had. The lemon huckleberry tart was good, but not particularly memorable. For brunch we shared the Northwest omelet and blueberry french toast. Once again, each dish had tons of flavor and the freshness of the ingredients really stood out. The service was perfect and the staff were very professional.

It's a nice restaurant that seems to be balancing the need to be a special occasion & romantic restaurant as well as family friendly. We visited the resort for a romantic getaway, not realizing how kid friendly it has become there over the last few years. We sat next to a table with a kid watching a iPad movie while the family was celebrating a birthday, there was another adult birthday a few tables away, and several families with kids, mostly well behaved. The food was really good, but again, they are balancing that line between special occasion, high-end food, with comfortable, family-friendly food. The wine list is extensive... and expensive. Hardly anything under $40. The staff was really friendly, . All the hostesses where friendly.
