A word from The Restaurant at Alderbrook
Our location brings out the best in fresh local seafood, dry aged beef, world-class wines and waterfront views - making The Restaurant at Alderbrook a destination in itself.

The interior setting of The Restaurant at Alderbrook takes its inspiration from the outdoors with warm colors of chocolate brown and sage green representing the gardens and lawn of the resort. Floor-to-ceiling windows and multi-levels amplify views of the brilliant shore and snow-capped peaks of the Olympic Mountains.

The cuisine showcases local seafood harvested from Puget Sound and Hood Canal. After all, our shores are encrusted with oysters, our docks lined with mussels, and our sea teems with salmon.

We had a canal view table which was very nice. The food was better than we remember from eating at the restaurant a couple of years ago. The ambiance seemed to improve as well. Overall, we had a positive experience and would recommend the restaurant to family and friends.

  • Beautiful water / mountain
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008

Beautiful water / mountain views from most tables in restaurant - has two levels to maximize this feature. Food was well-prepared and attractively plated. Some indoor flies (this is a resort on a lake in the woods) were a bit distracting - they buzzed constantly in our view. Seems like they could figure out some controls (hidden flypaper / zappersv/ etc.). The most disappointing was the service. Our waiter was nice but seemed to have too many tables to service. One of our drinks set on the bar for over five minutes - we could see it from our table. We finally had to catch the waiter's attention and ask him to bring it to us. Service seemed delayed most of the evening. At breakfast the next day, we had much better servie.

  • It was a special occassion

It was a special occassion for us, in that we were celebrating our 11th Wedding Anniversary. I had emailed the restaurant to let them know and requested a window table. They honored that request and we were seated at a window table in front of the outside lunch grill. We started off with the Crab Appetizer which was salty and bland. We then ordered the Alaskan Halibut and needed to send it back because it was completely cold and raw on the inside. After about 10 minutes they came back with a new entree, without much of an apoligy. I love fresh halibut but the dish was so overpowered with spices I had a tough time actually tasting the fish. We ended the dinner with a complientary custard dessert and they wished us a Happy Anniversary.

Though we were seated by the window (a plus!), our view was mostly blocked by the tent cover of the outdoor kitchen/deck. Very disappointing!

Although the menu is not particularly vegetarian friendly, the chef was very accommodating! During a busy time, he was very kind to make me a spectacular veggie dinner! Very good. And, as always, the staff was wonderful. Thank you!

For the price, the food was not done very well. I had copper river salmon that was very expensive and very dry!
