Since 1996 in Cruz Bay, St. John. A Favorite of locals, loyal repeats and new guests. We just moved to our new beach location as La Tapa Plage in the Wharfside Hotel Village in March of 2022, still featuring the same interesting ever changing menu including fresh local seafood, organic greens & herbs form Coral Bay, flavors with a touch of Spain & France (Basque Country), Germany and Caribbean. Our goal is to make you feel welcome, cozy and inspired by our great wines, delicious food, good service in a beautiful atmosphere. ---Open for dinner service at 5PM Friday through Wednesday. For parties larger than 6, please call the restauarant at 340-693-7755.---We will be open for Thanksgiving, but closed on Christmas Day.-**We do not have high chairs or booster seats. If you need either, we do have bench seating in the dining area that work's best for small children. Please request bench seating when making your reservation.**

We’ve been to La Tapa before but this was by far our best experience. The service was impeccable and the food fresh and delicious. The roasted pineapple and Thai ice cream dessert topped off a wonderful meal. A lovely view of the bay wasn’t too shabby either.

We had an ok experience. The food was just ok. Perhaps we ordered the wrong things. The best thing we ordered was the bread. Our least favorite dish that we ordered was the artichoke, it was bland and tough. Our server was super cute and nice but our service was poor. We asked for water several times and finally had to stop the host for refills on water and cocktails. Our fan was barely working and it was very hot. We had lots of great food and dining on St. John but unfortunately this was the only one that was not great. Plus, this was the one we choose for our anniversary dinner. Maybe it was an off night? Definitely an expensive dinner that was not worth the cost.

We had mixed feelings on our first and only experience dining at La Tapa. We arrived right on time for our 7 PM reservation and a woman snuck past us and chatted with the hostess for a solid 3 minutes while we stood there waiting to be acknowledged. Finally, that woman made her way over to the bar and the hostess turned to acknowledge us and sat us. Not the best first impression to make. The view from our table was lovely. Our server was very professional and polite. No complaints at all about our server. We ordered the artichoke with cheese fondue. VERY chewy. Undercooked? The 2 of us shared the paella. It was good… not outstanding. We split a bottle of Cava. $300 for a great view, good (in some cases OK) service, and a good meal. Maybe my expectations were off, but it did not seem worth the price.

We tried to eat the entire menu and everything was fantastic! Service was incredible, the vibes were immaculate and the drinks where the best we had on st john Can't wait to go back one day

We arrived before they were open, and took us in as they opened, we had an opportunity to enjoy the view and the undivided attention of staff. Great drinks, seafood and dessert.
