    We had a nice time. Food was good. Not a ton of menu options. Service was good but not super fast. It was also quite busy. Our high top table rocked every time a server walked by. Overall a very good experience.

    Food was great with the exception of the salmon bowl, which was very blah! Certainly will not order that again. Our waitress was absent 90% of the time. No one else checked in on us to ask how our food was either. A little disappointing for our Mothers Day dinner.

    Recommend having reservations if there events on at MTC or the Concert Hall. The chicken peanut salad was spicer than my friend expected so they remade it with a plain vinaigrette which was much appreciated and great service.

    Always love dining at the James Ave. Pumphouse! I usually go for the fish & chips, but this time I branched out and tried the Greek souvlaki with salad—no regrets! Our friends hadn’t been there before and really enjoyed the unique atmosphere. I also appreciate the acoustics: it’s lively, but the sound is balanced in a way that makes for easy conversation at your own table—you don’t really pick up on others’ chatter, if that makes sense. 😊
