Liam's is a great place for a small gathering of 3-4 friends as you can share most dishes and the seating and noise level allows for conversation without straining. They give you a taste of their "wine of the week" when you first sit down which is a nice touch to get you "in the vibe" of relaxing and planning your meal. The food was very good, especially the mussels! Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and let us have extra time without hassle as we were talking so much!

Have had lunch and dinner at Liam's. Food was delicious both lunch and dinner - from the soup and salad to the entrees. The kids loved the Beecher's mac and cheese options especially. Had a lovely waiter for lunch when we were there. It was our first visit and he was very helpful in guiding us through the menu. Took extended family for dinner and while the food was very good, the server we had that evening was a bit on the inattentive side. I can't say she was bad but she wasn't great. Seemed like she didn't really want to be there or something. We will definitely be going back - hopefully will get a waiter who is a bit more enthusiastic.

The food was great! The waiter was not! He brought the wine taste to the table and saw the happy hour menus and took the wine glasses away. He seemed very upset about the happy hour menu and referenced it a couple times. They had no non alcoholic beer so my friend had a club soda with lime, which he never asked her if she would like another. We were really putting him out by being there, very unpleaseant experience.

Food was excellent as was the service. Lots of good choices in a lively atmosphere. Excellent addtion to U Village. I am guessing the section in which we were seated will be used as outdoor dining when the weather permits. Will be a great spot to gather in the summer months, but is well heated and attractive with a fireplace for the fall and winter.

This succeeds as a comfortable and stylish neighborhood place but with highly-capable service, panache, and an excellent kitchen. We discovered Liam's by accident while shopping one day. The décor of the restaurant was appealing to us and we found the brunch menu intriguing, so we gave it a try. The first thing they served us was a small glass of local wine which we have never heard of before but I loved it. If not for Liam's, I probably would never have tried it. The server then enthusiastically introduced all the specialty items on the menu and was friendly and entertaining. The Crab Cake Benny I ordered was SO delicious! If you like Mac and Cheese, you definitely need to come to Liam's. You will not regret it.

Firstly, the restaurant is literally in the University Village Mall, right across the QFC. The maps on phone take you to the wrong place!! Had to call the restaurant to confirm location :-) Ambience = good feel, fairly energetic, not cozy by any means, but dimmer lighting makes it seem relaxed. I would call its ambiance good for dinner when not desiring a cozy place. Food was actually quite good. Had the meatball and was surprised at how light and delicious it was. The cocktails were good too, though not super creative, but good and refreshing. The vegetarian pasta was very good. The sausage pasta, not as much (found it to be a bit heavy, and not as much fun as the vegetarian pasta).

Started with the mushroom tart appetizer. Spectacular!! I had the line caught white salmon and my daughter had the Ribeye steak - both superbly prepared. We ordered the smashed potatoes as a side dish - yummy! We shared the apple fritter for dessert and it was the perfect end to a perfect meal. Let's mention the service too. Kendra L. was sweet and provided just the right amount of attention. As did other servers who stepped in to answer a question or drop off a dish. All very pleasant and not intrusive at all. Wow! What's not to like?! A perfect meal with perfect service. Looking very forward to our next visit.

I'm gluten free and vegetarian, my husband eats everything. The menu seems smaller than it as because, as you start looking, you realize there is just about everything. I had the butternut squash soup (best I've ever had!) and roasted vegetables, my husband had a pasta dish that he can't stop talking about. lovely appetizers and a wine list that focus on Washington wines. Plenty of seating and feels very intimate. We've been there twice and service has been great both times. Parking is easy in the new lot and you can get in some shopping before dinner and some of the great, new shops in University Village.

Food excellent- service was poor- never told you had to ask for bread with meal- when told our server and another never brought it. Charging $8.00 for 1 meatball is outlandish- server seemed indifferent to us - we mentioned we were 1st time customers and she never ever came to inquire about the meal, how we were doing - would not recommend this to our friends and we live near University Village- overall disappointing experience. Great space, great decor, excellent server, creative menu. The mushroom tart was delicious, the kale Caesar was soaked with too much dressing and had 5% kale, 95% other lettuce. We ordered the grilled ivory salmon cooked to the chef's recommended medium but all 3 orders were delivered VERY well-done. I will try this restaurant again in a few months since these kitchen issues will likely be worked out with a little practice.

We had a very nice meal at Liam's - good food and good service. I particularly enjoyed the mushroom tart. The famous mac and cheese is very indulgent and delicious. The night we at Liam's, there were a number of families with small children, including us. It would be great if they had a dedicated children's menu available for the little ones, something beyond the mac and cheese. There are so many families in the neighborhood near U Village that it would be great to have offerings for the little ones too.

Honestly, I would've spent a better time at this beautiful restaurant if the waitress didn't act like we were bothering her every time we asked something of her. when I asked her to split the check, I guess she thought I was trying to avoid the tip percentage that she had to announce, "well I'm still adding the 20% gratitude". Not that I have to explain myself, but seriously did you have to make sure you were getting paid fairly before giving a good service. Anyway, you can count on me that I will spread the word on this terrible service. I eat outside for the experience. Not because I don't wanna cook home. Food is good but then again, there are other restaurants who offer good food and food service. So it's whatever.

The food was good, but it is on the higher end for lunch. I was disappointed in my Dungeness Crab Cobb. It did not have much crab in the salad, was mostly lettuce and for a $21 salad, I expected more. Everyone in our group thought their dishes were average, but did not think it was worth the prices charged. The restaurant was also out of the cioppino and mussels the day that we ate at Liam's.

Had our party of 17 post-Christmas family get-together here and was very pleased with the ambience, food, and attentiveness of our server. The only thing I can think of that could be improved was the "sharable" portion-sizes of the side dishes in comparison to the price which were just right for 1 or 2 people without going broke having to order several. Also, would be nice if more bread came with the mussels to allow the guests to sop up all that yummy broth without it going cold or dishes be cleared away. Overall, I think the food is superb and is a nice addition to University Village.

Despite making reservations weeks earlier incl. a comment that it was our anniversary & we'd like a quiet table, we were seated at probably the worst table, and furthermore the hostess didn't care. We did manage to move to the fireplace area which was fine. Our server was funny & very efficient. A couple of quibbles about the food. The kale Caeser was at least 50% romaine. The red wine on tap (which is a great concept) arrives very cold. Fortunately each table has a lovely Glassy Baby candle which can be used to warm wine. The food was good. It was our mistake to not realize that a bistro is not the best special occasion destination.

This was our very first visit to Liam's. I went with a girlfriend for lunch and then shopping afterward at U-Village. It's a cute space. We really liked it, and loved the closed-in winter patio with the fireplace. The only negative was the service. It was attentive and generally good, but we felt like our server was rushing us - attempting to take plates before we were ready to be done eating. At one point he even waited for me to take my last bite holding out his hand for my plate. We will definitely try it again though.

We've dined here twice now, both times dinner. Excellent food, the servers are well trained and friendly. Just dare you to have an empty plate on your table for long, it won't happen. I have serious dietary restrictions and they worked wi me well to provide a meal I could consume. My husband raved about his pasta dish and ordered it a second time. Salads are fresh and high quality, their tomato soup is fab. They offer a tiny taste of wine to whet your appetite, it's of sufficient quality to entice you into ordering a glass. I think this place is going to constantly be full. It's off to a really good start.
