We had reservations for 5pm and ordered quickly. Our seats were by the front door, which made a very cold evening. Our server seemed overmatched. I had to look him down so we could order. The employees seating the guests seemed unconfident too. After about half an hour of waiting for food p, our server came over to tell us there was an error in putting our order in and our food was now in the cue. I'm led to believe the error was not the computer's fault. Our food came, and was not too bad. The price was appropriate, but because we had to leave quickly , we did not get a chance to enjoy it. I like supporting local restaurants! especially those in Downingtown, but it will be a long time before my wife and I go back.

Molly Mcguire's is a fun place to go with friends. It is a very authentic Irish Pub. It has a wide selection of beers and traditional Irish dishes. Our waitress was very attentive. There was a Irish band playing while we were there. We will definitely go back.

A beautifully renovated firehouse with lots of natural light, high ceilings and impressive imported Irish bars. But both dining floors were very loud and fare was average bar food. On the positive side, staff was friendly and accomodating, if a bit overwhelmed by the crowd.

Like having Molly's in Downingtown. Love the menu and food very much, love the bar scene, weekend night Music is terrible. Not sure if it is the bands they choose to play, or the acoustics in the place, but it is too loud and annoying while trying to enjoy some time with friends. People are shouting over each other and you cannot hear the wait staff.

Molly's is new and is in an old stone firehouse, which has lots of charm, but it was cold !!! It was not a really cold night, but the sitting area was still very chilly. There was a small gas fireplace nearby, but it was not finished. I walked around the restaurant, but it did not seem any warmer in any of the dining areas. The food was above average and service was good, but we could not get by the cold. The coffee cups where so cold that the coffee was only lukewarm and the cup handles where cool. On the good side, the server, did bring us hotter coffee when we let her know. I would go back, but I will wait for warmer weather.

Food was fair. Fush tacoscwere poor. Broiled fish with pickled cabbsge not good combo. Chicken was hard and dry in blackend chicken salad. If "Huh? I Can't Hear You!" was a successful pick-up line, everyone would be leaving with a date! The check-in was great, with kind greeters. The service was competent, but at times forgetful. Beers were great, and the food was AWESOME! The appetizers (Potato Balls and Fried Pickles) were really good; the Shepard's Pie and Corned Beef dinner were awesome. We wanted to stick around for a few after-dinner drinks, but unfortunately this place is WAY TOO NOISY! I've been in loud places before, but this was too much. Something needs to be done to absorb some of the noise. So, we went across the street ('80's throwback) for our night-cap. Really a good place, though, and I wish the folks well. Just try to muffle the noise a bit.

Would be fine for a few beers or drinks with a group, but not worth your trouble to go for a meal. The food was incredibly bland and the noise level made it impossible to try and carry on a conversation at a table. Very noisy and decent (not great) beer selection. Our server was friendly but not super attentive. Plus the lighting was on full blast which was odd. Not dimmed at all. Had been looking forward to Molly's opening for months. Disappointing.

I would recommend this restaurant to a friend because, having eaten at the Molly Maguire's in Phoenixville, I know what it can be. There are a lot of bugs to be worked out with the staff. Our waiter was simply weak and we are going to need a better one next time to keep coming back. The portions were small, the pricing high and the food was just ok. We want Molly's to succeed - get it together and become loved by Downingtown!

The food is delicious, but $14.95 for a crock of Irish Stew and two mini irish soda-bread muffins was a little disappointing. Both of us were hungry later. When you're in a pub with an average entree being around $15.00, you expect a slightly larger portion. Molly's needs to decide if they are going to be "fine-dining" (aka art-food) or a hearty pub. Some other pricing examples: Cup of soup is $4.45 and a bowl is $6.45...a little high for the area given that there are so many other dining options within two miles. And, as expected, it's a pub with a large open dining area; conversation is a little difficult. While they tried to section off little areas for more privacy, the din of the room carries everywhere.

Three of us decided to give Molly's a try on a Thursday night. Even though we arrived early, parking was a challenge. They seated us in an adorable little room - perfect for 3 friends catching up! The ambience is wonderful - very Irish - oldy worldy charm! However, the food was a big disappointment. The salmon was overcooked, the Madras Chicken Curry wasn't very flavorful and the turkey Boxty - a house specialty - was filled with deli-grade meat and resembled a burrito. But the french fries were good. Two if us had wine. The pour was small and at $9.00 a glass not worth the price. We all decided we wouldn't rush back but next time we go - we'll simply order a burger and a beer. Great job renovating g the old firehouse!

Molly maguires was a new expirence, it was a little caotic and we waited 20 min past our resorvation time. The restraunt is new so some of the small things can be over looked but there was no waiting area and we stood around in everyones way. Our server was great and polite. But the noise level makes it impossible to enjoy the people you came with. Its more of a themed bar than it is a resturant.the menu had more alchol than food, and not to many traditional irish dishes to choose from.

Molly's just opened a few days ago, so we did not expect a lot-- kitchens need a few weeks to get things right. That said, the table service does leave much to be desired. It was clear our server was inexperienced, although he was very friendly. Molly's - please teach your servers that passing hot plates down a table is not the best way to go. Food is expensive for what you get - and the boxty was awful. Special mac and cheese was excellent. Still, the place is gorgeous and the bar list is good.

We really liked the atmosphere and the building-- it was very creatively renovated and a very neat place. We were unimpressed with the value- a Guiness on "special" was $6.50. We were able to bring our 10 month old there when we went at 5pm and they were accomodating and gave us a very private area so that we felt more comfortable there.

Totally enjoyed our visit to Molly's in Downingtown. The place is beautiful, staff couldn't have been nicer, beer cold and food hot. Only suggestion, maybe some music. We were sitting upstairs, got there fairly early so it wasn't crowded and a little too quiet. It did; however, gives us a chance to meet and talk to Sarah and Mike, two of the bartenders. They were not only very attentive, they were friendly and very easy to talk to. We will definitely be back. Good Luck!!!
