Our crew went for dinner and it was a very good time for all. Food was great drinks were good and service was very good. A problem with the billing but it was taken care of promptly and with a smile Using the Open table reservation on the internet was awesome no waiting. I received an email confirming and a phone call the day of our reservation also confirming. Molly McGuires is on top of it. My hat is off to you and we will be back.

Ate at Molly Maguire's with my family while passing through Downingtown, PA. The food was tasty and filling, the service was warm, and the ambience was authentic Irish Pub (without the customary haze of smoke!) I will go back on my next pass through Downingtown, PA, and will recommend it to my friends!.

We have been to Macgiures a few time before without any problems. This time the food was awful. The coconut shrimp was raw. Our sandwiches consisted of unmelted cheese on beef with a stale roll and a cold cod fish sandwich. The cod fell apart. I don't think it was not cooked properly. Deep fryer issues maybe? We were offered free dessert but after the shrimp we just wanted to leave.

This would have been a wonderful evening had the waiter given us some attention. He was busy helping other tables and could never find the time to follow up with us. Then when the bill came. He charged us for beer refills he never gave us. The food was great. But this server really needs a crash course in providing good customer service.

My wife and I went to dinner here and had a disappointing experience. The food wasn't even as good as a chain restaurant. The staff seems very inexperienced. The ambience is extremely loud. We have learned our lesson, this is a Bar that serves food not a restaurant . It is clear this will be a thriving spot for the community to come and party. In fact we will find a reason to meet friends here and party the night away. But we will not come back with the sole purpose of having a nice meal. That does not seem to be their focus even though they have shoved in as many tables as the place could possibly hold. (We were so jammed packed together, I accidentally ate three bites of a strangers salad next to me.) Ok not really, but close.

First we'd like to sing the praises of our server Byron. He was so personable, pleasant and eager to please. He is definitely an asset to your business there at Molly Maguires. He went the extra mile of getting me a glass of champagne even though we did not order the Valentine special and answered so many questions we had about the menu, etc. We really enjoyed every bite of our meals. The bacon wrapped scallops were awesome. Our entrees - Roast Beef Boxty and the crab cake sandwich were delicious! Then we split the the bread pudding which was very tasty and a very ample portion that could easily be shared by two. Following it up with an Irish coffee made with Jameson - the perfect meal! We will definitely return to Molly Maguires again!

We were there on 1/31 for a friends 40th birthday and Steve was our server and turns out it was his birthday and 27th Wedding Anniversary and he was awesome, very entertaining, sweet and funny, not to mention very attentive. The establishment was kind enough to send him home early to be with his wife which was very cool of them but we were sad to see him go. The server that took over his shift was not attentive at all and screwed up our tabs at the end.

Food was fantastic. Beer selection was solid, though a little limited as far variety goes. I'd love to see some more local craft beers on the menu. Service was outstanding. The only complaint was that we were seated close to the front of the bar area and there was a chilling breeze every time the front door was opened. It wasn't that big a deal and I' m not sure what could be done but I figured I'd mention it

Have been to Molly's now for the second time and first time at a high top table at entrance with an open table reservation, although the food was great the table too close to mobs of people entering, the wait staff bumping into us often, by the end of meal we were ready to go. Second time, again open table, upstairs, our table waiting and it was great, seated immediately and served promptly. We do know that just opening there will be growing pains and proper table locations to be reviewed, but on the whole we did enjoy and we will be back. Happy to have you in the neighborhood, you are our first family/night spot to arrive in Downingtown and we love that!

We met another couple there for dinner & drinks. Place was packed on a Friday around 6:30. Service was great in the beginning but did falter a little toward the end. Food is very Irish Pub-like, but good. Appetizers where excellent - recommend the Spinach/Artichoke dip. Nice wine selection. Approximately 20 beers on tap, mostly local brews. There was a nice mix of IPAs, lagers, wits and porters. The only downside was the noice level. It grew in intensity by 8:00 and was very hard to hear each other across the table.

Molly's DTown is fairly new to the borough and still in the novelty phase in terms of a destination. It gets crowded fast, there is not much parking and local businesses are very protective of their own reserved parking (which is posted). The food is good, standard pub fare, but done pretty well. Good beer selection, staff very nice and service is very good. Nice local gathering spot.

One of our friends recommended Molly Maguire's. We did not know of it prior to the recommendation. Tried it out and had a very pleasant experience. Felt just like an Irish Pub, comfortable elevated seating, excellent beer and good fare (Shepards Pie and Fish and Chips). Service was excellent. Servers were very pleasant. Plenty of parking. Great ambiance. We'll be back.

Went for birthday lunch with coworkers. Only favorable meal was the Irish stew. Shepards pie was irish stew with scoop of mashed potatoes. Do not recommend Irish nachos..waffle fries with minimal toppings. Fried fish sandwich was doughy. French fries good and of course good beer selection. Temperature inside was cold. Everyone had their coats on as they ate.

Went to Molly's on Saturday with the family and my mother. Probably not the best idea on a Saturday at 7 with the family. The atmosphere is great, but when busy, the noise level makes conversation very difficult. The service was slow and our server did a great Houdini... One second she was there then she would disappear for a very long time. Dinner for six took over 1.5 hours and much of that was waiting for either food or the check. We had to call the server over a few times vs the server being attentive. Getting a second drink was almost impossible, and when your out with my mom for dinner... You need a second! The food was ok. One person had the Chop dinner, which advertised a 8oz chop, but what came out was a dry 6oz over cooked chop.

Molly MaGuires moved into the old firehouse in town and the place is "hot." Family friendly in the early evening and bar friendly later on. Menu offers a good mix of Irish favorites - Shepherds Pie, Lamb stew (yum), fish and chips - but burgers, curried chicken, old stand bys, - a nice selection. Service is prompt and attentive. Irish music in the background. Tiffany-style lighting, old bar feel upstairs and down. A terrific new asset to Downiingtown. Lots of parking. I'll go back for casual fun and good food.

When making dinner reservation online with 'Open Table', I asked the establishment to provide a surprise birthday cake for my wife's birthday. I followed up by calling the restaurant. They said that they do not do birthday cake's but would make a note to tell the server to put a candle in any cake that she ordered. When my wife ordered the dessert (cheese cake) she even told the server that it was her birthday. Well the cake came out without the candle so that shaved a few points off the place for me.

Perfect place for younger adults to hang out and eat the delicious Irish food. Good bar scene in the center of Downingtown with great food! It was like hanging out at the bars in West Chester, but without the drive and hassle of parking. There is a band every Friday and Saturday night to add to the entertainment. I will definitely be frequenting this place in the future

I love a cozy, warm Irish pub. Molly's was not. I think Molly's should of spent some more time finishing with opening tasks before opening. The front still needed landscaping (cones, rope and mud), inside there were open holes with wiring and the cook was still green. The calamari was awful (rubber rings tossed in crispy corn meal) and the fish from the fish and chips was undercooked (pasty and doughy -$17-ouch). We went to eat at 8 pm., the noise level was annoying, as if you were eating at an open echoing market. Our waitress seemed preoccupied. Maybe we will give it a try in a year or so, when it has ironed out its kinks. Until then I will go elsewhere.

I discovered this place by accident. I only a couple miles away, but was traveling west on Lancaster Ave. one day and I was amazed at how this restaurant transformed the old firehouse in Downingtown. Although, I have never been to Ireland, I did not feel like I was in PA for a while. The firehouse has been transformed into the old style Irish pub. The wood work of the bar is just beautiful. It felt warm and cozy inside. The beer and cocktails are great. The food is so fresh and has wonderful flavors. Our group loved the scotch eggs, Shepard's pie, Guiness pie, corned beef & cabbage, and bread pudding. Everyone loved their dishes and the great atmosphere of this pub. I highly recommend this place for little getaway.

Our visit was good. We were seated in a recessed area on the 2nd floor and apparently there was a mix-up as to who was waiting our table. We waited about 10 minutes with no one checking on us so I went to the bar to ask someone be sent over. I understand this happens with new restaurants. I wish I could remember the name of our waitress, because she was wonderful and so very attentive. We will definitely return as my wife and daughter (and myself) were very impressed with the food. Thank you!

We had reservations for 5pm and ordered quickly. Our seats were by the front door, which made a very cold evening. Our server seemed overmatched. I had to look him down so we could order. The employees seating the guests seemed unconfident too. After about half an hour of waiting for food p, our server came over to tell us there was an error in putting our order in and our food was now in the cue. I'm led to believe the error was not the computer's fault. Our food came, and was not too bad. The price was appropriate, but because we had to leave quickly , we did not get a chance to enjoy it. I like supporting local restaurants! especially those in Downingtown, but it will be a long time before my wife and I go back.
