A word from Acorn
Located within the Source, a reclaimed 1880’s refinery turned new epicurean marketplace in Denver’s River North District, Acorn boasts Chef/Owner Steven Redzikowski’s eclectic, contemporary American cooking in an approachable, family-friendly format, alongside Beverage Director/Owner Bryan Dayton’s ingredient-driven cocktails, and handpicked selection of artisan wines and beers.

Similar to its critically acclaimed sister restaurant in Boulder, OAK at fourteenth, Acorn’s culinary and inspirational foundation is its oak-fired oven and grill, which produce a seasonal, ever-changing menu of craveable, family-style small plates and entrées. Guests will also find a selection of favorite dishes from the menus at OAK.

Steven, Bryan and their team at Acorn are proud to be serving Denver, and look forward to welcoming you.

Absolutely unique atmosphere. The food was served in a in medium portions, and was prepared as we were ready for it. Every dish was superb. The service was excellent. While the price was expensive- $75 per person, that included two drinks each and plenty of excellent food and a nice tip 20%, the value was outstanding. We will definitely go back and recommend this restaurant to friends. Ted

We were so eager to try Acorn after hearing great things about this newcomer. Really interesting drink menu though we chose wine. Menu is mostly small plates. We started out with the kale and apple salad, a very generous portion - delicious with the added pecans. Got three more dishes - the lamb shawarma, a seafood over squid ink pasta - both outstanding and I think generous portions considering small plates. Lastly we ordered the short ribs, which came three over a polenta. They were tasty and tender enough to cut with a fork, though felt the portion was small comparatively. Overall, fabulous meal and we will definitely return!

On the recommendation from a good friend, I took my wife here for one of our "date nights." We were pleasantly surprised. Service was spot-on, and the ambience was energetic. The food service was timely. Server (can't remember his name) was really personable, and his top three suggestions were perfect: scallop/ahi crudo, shrimp & grits (amazing), and the coal roasted beets. We also had the lamb shawarma, fried pickles (so-so), and the tempura red snapper (fantastic). Its location within The Source is also interesting for a good stroll around and maybe a beer or another drink at the farm bar or the Crooked Stave.

Started with great service from the reception desk. Went to the bar where a female employee looked way to disinterested and just pointed at the bar menu when asking her what she suggested. Male bartender was nice but shy. Bar staff should be gregarious, not disinterested and shy. After being seated, our female wait staff was GREAT! She was personable and took great care of us and gave great food suggestions. Food came out quickly and was explained by the runner who brought out food. Not a cheap meal, but you do get what you pay for food wise. I suggest it overall.

The small plates are actually not so small so despite the recommendation to order 2-3 dishes per person you can go less (more like 2 per person). The food was amazing--we ordered 10 dishes for 4 people and every single one was outstanding! Since they are meant to be served family style this is a great restaurant for groups. This is my new favorite dining spot!

My partner and I went to this restaurant on Christmas Eve because it had received excellent reviews. We were very impressed! The food was outstanding, the service was great and the atmosphere was unique. My only suggestion would be to move the tables a little further apart so you don't fell as though you are dining with strangers. We literally could overhear every word that was said at the table next to us. I rated the Ambience poor for this reason. Thanks for the great food and service! Rick

The service was impeccable and our server, Chris, really made it special. For our celebrations they offered complimentary bubbles and dessert! It was very thoughtful and started us out on the right note. The handcrafted cocktail my husband got was fantastic and very original (Warm Welcome). The food was great! We got the fried pickles, crudo, scallops, pork belly and meatballs. The best item was the Foley Fish Crudo. The fish melted in your mouth but had a very warm taste with the melted brown butter. The chives and radishes added the texture without overpowering the fish flavor giving it the necessary crunch. All of our plates were very good and we are excited to visit again, try new items, and order TWO of the crudo! Well done, Acorn.

At the risk of making it even more difficult to get a weekend reservation at Acorn, this is the best restaurant that I have been to in Denver. Every dish better than the last, incredibly cool place. So good that we made another reservation for the following week while we were waiting for desert. Try the bacon/egg salad....the prep on the egg is fantastic. If you have experience with shrimp and grits, Acorn's version will bring joyful tears and restore your faith in humanity. Dishes are meant to be shared, but you won't want to. Really, it's that good.

Though we arrived a bit later than our reservation, when I called to let them know they were cery accomodating. We sat on a small table in the middle of everyone walking to both sides rapidly. I felt like I was in the middle of the highway. They moved us to the chef's bar and that was better. Kale salad delicious, we had the pork belly, lamb, fish, mushrooms, 2 plates per person enough 3 if you are really hungry. Cocktails good quality and creative! This place is on my list to go back again, great place for happy hour and fun dinner with friends!

Wonderful food and service in an interesting location. It is best enjoyed with a small group of people who have adventurous palates as the menu consists of small plates ment to be shared. A huge negative is the noise level, even on a Monday night. We expected it to be noisy due to the architecture of the building. The loud music on top of the general noise made it difficult to hear others at a table for four. I have eaten at Acorn twice and have had difficulty with the intrusive music both times.

Acorn is in the fun The Source building with a brewery, wine shop, bakery, butcher shop, flower shop, etc. Have a great lunch and then walk around and enjoy yourself. Acorn offers "booze free" and "low alcohol" cocktail choices. We had a couple of the low alcohol options and they were just delicious and a great choice when you want to enjoy the rest of your day. I enjoyed the noodle bowl and my husband had the lamb shawarma. Great flavors and very we'll done!

We have now been to Acorn twice. Amazingly our terrific waiter, Chris remembered I have a gluten issue. Took my foodie adult children and granddaughter, loved everything:mushrooms- broth was delish, scallop cruda- amazing, short ribs- yum, I am over pork belly so no comment, duck from first time-smallish but very good, (I wasn't so enamored with the Shwarma and I am out of adjectives). Drinks were good, too. Didn't have time for dessert, grandbaby had reached her limit, but they aren't so gf friendly.

To begin with, our dinner at Acorn was outstanding. The cocktail menu is creative and offers a number of options along with wine and beer selections. The small plates approach allowed us to sample multiple types of dishes. The kale salad was light and refreshing, and the short ribs were melt in your mouth delicious. Our other dishes contained creative and interesting tastes and textures, along with a very nice presentation. The wait staff was very attentive, and responsive to our needs. Enjoyed the shared small plates: apple and kale salad was delicious...strong on citrus flavor. Short ribs especially delicious....but polenta side practically nonexistent. However too tasty not to enjoy on a return visit. Shrimp and grits very good. Half chicken large plate was succulent and beautiful. Extremely noisy so not good if looking for a quiet place to visit. On the other hand, it is lively and vibrant. Will definitely retun for the good food.

Met a friend for lunch this week. The cocktail list is a bit off putting - lots of obscure liqueurs and ingredients, but the waitstaff is happy to explain everything, without a trace of pretentiousness. I highly recommend the Dolomites Afternoon - one of the best cocktails I've ever had, and I've had a few! The kale and apple sad was wonderful, but the kale is very finely chopped, so not a great date dish given the probability of getting little green pieces stuck in your teeth. The double battered fried chicken was also very good- juicy chicken with a wonderful crisp crust with a delicious not too spicy gravy. Portions are not too big, not too small. Service is attentive without being overbearing. Big thumbs up!

The liquor cabinet at Acorn must be 3 miles deep with all of the different libations it takes to fulfill their cocktail menu. I needed a liquor dictionary! Amazing flavors of food ... Kale Salad, Scallops and Snapper were amongst our favorites. Didn't care for the sauce that accompanied the Calamari. The food was very good and service was great but the atmosphere and lighting sucked. I felt like I was sitting in dungeon. I'm all for an industrial feel and vibe but attention to the little details need to be addressed. Also felt like I needed to have a PhD in mixology to translate the cocktail list.; trying way to hard to be hip. Any of the tables for 2 backed up to the main bar and people were hovering over as we had dinner. Again a detail!!! Even though the food was very good I doubt I would go back for dinner.
