A word from Acorn
Located within the Source, a reclaimed 1880’s refinery turned new epicurean marketplace in Denver’s River North District, Acorn boasts Chef/Owner Steven Redzikowski’s eclectic, contemporary American cooking in an approachable, family-friendly format, alongside Beverage Director/Owner Bryan Dayton’s ingredient-driven cocktails, and handpicked selection of artisan wines and beers.

Similar to its critically acclaimed sister restaurant in Boulder, OAK at fourteenth, Acorn’s culinary and inspirational foundation is its oak-fired oven and grill, which produce a seasonal, ever-changing menu of craveable, family-style small plates and entrées. Guests will also find a selection of favorite dishes from the menus at OAK.

Steven, Bryan and their team at Acorn are proud to be serving Denver, and look forward to welcoming you.

Recently opened, the trendy Acorn had been on my list from the start. I love their focus towards seasonal cooking and they have a solid sister restaurant, Oak at Fourteenth. They have a good foundation to work from. They've hopped on the shared plates train, which worked well for our group. I enjoy being able to try many things in small amounts. Each plate had many flavors that popped and were memorable. My biggest critique would be that their service needs to flow a little better (or it might have just been our waitress) and they need to pace their dishes. We were bombarded with four of the dishes we ordered all at once, and there just wasn't room on the table. Overall a great food experience. Their logistics just need to be critiqued.

This was our first visit to Acorn and will not be out last. We sampled 6 of the smaller plates and each was outstanding with respect to flavors and cooked ideally. The smaller plates were not miniature plates as seems to be the norm at many places these day and 6 made a hefty meal. We could have gotten away with fewer but there were so many good looking options.

Acorn in Denver's The Source is an excellent place to check out. The Source isn't quite what I was expecting and Acorn is a bit small but they have excellent food. The only gripe I would have is the portion sizes of the shared plates. A tad bit small for the price. Amazing taste of course, just a little too small.

Great food and service - Have tried the majority of the current small plates and never had a miss! Tried the chicken for 2 and it was fantastic! Will try the pork shoulder and know that most of it will go back home with me for yummy lunches and dinners to take to work. Have been twice and will return next week!

Acorn is in a repurposed building in the former industrial area of North Denver. The space itself is very unique and filled with other restaurants, shops and bars. The Acorn space itself has a very tasteful modern/industrial décor with an open kitchen as the center piece. The food is superb, the menu has a selection of small plates and large plates made for sharing. The wait staff will request that you order everything at once, but the plates are staged appropriately. I wholly recommend Acorn for an excellent meal.

This was one of those amazing meals that I'll remember for an eternity. With two carnivores, a vegetarian, and a gluten- and seafood- free diner we weren't necessarily the easiest group to work with, but the server didn't flinch, found tons of food for us to enjoy, and genuinely made the evening quite smooth. The food itself was just astounding. Everything was cooked perfectly, served appropriately, and fully memorable. We ended the evening trying to call out our favorites and basically just reciting everything we ate, which is unusual. Get a bunch of friends together and just order a ton of small plates, it's well worth it.

Celebrated our anniversary here and we're greeted with a champagne toast. We shared 6 small plates and it was plenty of food. Each one was absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere in the Source building. Best food in Denver - coming from a very picky foodie. We will be back soon!

The scallops are to die for. Had a great experience with the shared plates. There were two of us, we ordered five dishes and that was just the right amount of food. Also had room for dessert...the smores were amazing! A great place for foodies for sure the flavors are unique and different.

This "little" Acorn has a lot to boast. Funky setting in a brand new (not yet finished) building. Great vibe and imaginative menu. Love the small plates concept as we get to taste a lot of different items in a single setting. Everything we had was delicious -- we wanted to ilck the plates clean! We asked our waitress for recommendations and every one was a gem. One hint -- we were recommended to order three small plates each -- we ordered 5 for two people and it was still too much food! However, we were able to squeeze in a S'mores dessert. Our table neighbors were intrigued with our orders and commented on every one -- I know they'll be back as we will. One small issue - our waitress was friendly, but mostly unavailable/inattentive.

Was excited to see the new Source space and try Acorn. We were not disappointed. Great drink list and menu was diverse and covered all bases. Favorite dishes were the Octopus and Iberico ham. Cate was our server and she rocked it. Only complaint is lighting - downstairs is a little dark and could benefit from ambient lighting or perhaps pendants for some drama.

Went to Oak in Boulder a little over a year ago. This new place (3 weeks old) is FANTASTIC and fits well with the head chef's other restaurant. The menu changes slightly each week, depending on what is fresh, so I can't recommend anything in particular. If you get a chance to try the octopus though, I would go ahead and do so. The drinks were also fantastic. Expertly crafted. Tasted delicious.

For just being open a few days before we went I'd say they are doing pretty well. The ambience is Interesting high ceilings with exposed beams and original graffiti on the walls. The music this night was a bit different for restaurant I think mostly hip hop/rap. Food was good we had all small plates our favorites were the lamb, and the tuna tataki. Food is seasonal we saw a few ingredients used multiple times which was kind of unfortunate since right now is the time to use everything you can from colorado. The wine list is quite small surprising with an ex Somm from Frasca- but maybe more will come with time. The available selections were priced right though. Dessert was fun a s'more but the graham cracker was so hard I thought it shoot out.

This nut hasn't fallen far from the Oak but has a personality all it's own. From the point of walking into the Source, a huge open air warehouse, we were captivated with the ambiance, the smells and the unique shops that are opening up here. The open kitchen allows the diners to see the 'action' and truly smell what is going on behind the scenes. Our waiter was a gem, walking us through the drink list with suggestions of his own then highlighting menu items based on a few questions to gather our food tastes and adventurous spirts. The scallop crudo was the star of the night with a delicate texture and pop in your mouth citrus flavors.

Best Cocktail list in the country. The food was outstanding. The service was fast & casual yet proper without being overbearing. There are some cool bottles on the well priced wine list. The space is hip which goes great with the service style and the food. For a new restaurant there was not 1 hiccup. Servers recommend 3 small plates, I would stick with 2 and ignore the note on the bottom of the menu asking for your entire order at once.

This restaurant has great small plates. The octopus was good but not a ton of flavor & a lot of beans, the lamb was delicious w/ wonderful but too many peppers & small portion of meat. The pork belly is tasty. The short ribs were wonderful! Shrimp & grits were the best!! The calamari was a wonderful, perfectly tender over a caprese salad. The seared tuna was awesome. Great portion size! I'd pass on the $19 iberaco over potato cakes. It's all potato tot & very little aged meat. Mixed drinks are very good. Beer selection is great. Desserts: peach, blue cheese & cinnamon ice cream over toasted brioche was great! S'mores are wonderful! DO not waste your money on the sorbet. 2 of the tiniest scoops.

Service was top notch, we had small plates and the replacement plates and silverware were very much appreciated as we worked our way through our selections. The drinks were inventive and tasty, every table was looking to see what the other table had ordered and many cheers were made throughout the night. The food...delicious. I cannot say enough about the shrimp and grits and the trout- so tasty!!!! I cannot wait to go back for the ribeye and more small plates. Highly recommend for a fun, different night out!
