    The experience at Lupa could have been better if the table they sit us in is not by the toilet.We arrive 15 minutes early and the restaurant seems empty and the room they sit us in has plenty of 2 people table available and they were available till about the time we got up and leave. The 2 ladies behind us has the same time reservationa nd showed up at the same time but they have better seat then us.

    While this was my second visit to Lupa, something did not seem the same as my previous visit. The food was good, but the service left something to be desired. I will return to Lupa, as I enjoy the food, but I hope the ambiance will be better. It was a Monday night, and that might have had something to do with it, but the whole atmosphere seemed flat.

    The whole experience was fantastic, from start to finish. We treated a friend to lunch on her birthday, and our waiter guided us through the extensive Italian wine list to help us choose an excellent bottle that we all loved. The salads and vegetable starters were wonderful, and our three pasta dishes were some of the most delicious in recent memory. The dessert menu is not extensive, but we were so happily sated from the meal that it didn't really matter. The pacing of the meal was such that we were able to linger over each course and truly savor it, unlike some places where the waitstaff tries to hurry you through and turn the table. It was a delightful afternoon for all of us, and the birthday girl felt very well celebrated!

    I had been to Lupa before, love it. I will be honest..a bit diappointed in our waiter, Andre?..He was great, friendly..but when it came to desserts, I feel we were "taken" to up the bill; hence his tip...there were 4 of us..2 women, 2 teen girls..the sorbets & gelatos sounded so good we ordered one for each (which totaled 8 dessert tabs). Usaully your receive small scoops of each..well, Lupa is genreous in its portions, so most of the deesert went uneaten..I feel we should have been told! When I made a comment, a bit jokingly, he said, Well, you've been here before..I said I had never oredered the desserts.. Anyway, you asked..otherwise, as always it was great!     i was disappointed. I have had much better meals at Lupa in the past. The salad I ordered had a mountain of grated cheese on it and the gnocchi was ordinary, not seasoned very well. My bellini aperitif was also nothing special.

    This was honestly the rudest service I have ever had in New York and I can't understand why because the restaurant wasn't crowded and I had heard good things about Lupa's service. Honestly, the waitress who started our order was so rude and unhelpful--probably because she knew she was leaving before we would finish? No excuse for her attitude though and she was unable to comprehend what might have been the simplest question. Then, after she left, the other wait staff ignored our table almost completely. My family visited from out of town and they're all foodies, so I was excited to take them to a great restaurant but even though the food was wonderful, we were all left with a very negative experience. Sad.

    Traveling to Manhattan from San Francisco and had stumbled upon and dined at Lupa last year. Another trip brought us Manhattan and we were set to dine at Lupa again. Generally we like to try new places, though our experience at Lupa was so grand last time, we had to experience the greatness again. BTW - my husband genrally is not a "celebrity" kind of guy, though after dining at Lupa, The Spotted Pig and Otto, he now is a Mario convert. Mario, we LOVE you, your culinary talents, and your business colleagues. You also have an outstanding and incredibly professional staff. Each are very unique and have top talent. Cheers!     The pasta was outstanding as per usual. However we were very much underwhelmed by the Saltimbocca.. a big salty pancake, what should be a light dish of simple ingredients was a big mash of veal, prosciutto and sage, all stamped together in a big unappetising cake. the other main dish, trout, was simple and good however nothing to rave about. I would advise anyone to focus on appetisers and pasta dishes as mains are a bit of an afterthought.

    Lupa was a wonderful little gem that had awesome food. The atmosphere was fun and festive, but also could've been romantic. There were several couples when we were there that seemed to be having intimate dinners. The food was great as was the wine. I can't wait to go back.

    Nice atmosphere, reasonable prices. Our food was good not great. My wife did not like her pasta as it was seasoned with way too much pepper. Waitress did not do anything when we told her, just took bowl which was totally uneaten away. Little things like ordering coffee and dessert and not receiving coffee until dessert was completely finished. Just felt a bit rushed and that the staff was too busy to really serve properly. I am being picky but we left feeling at bit underwhelmed.

    We had a wonderful lunch at Lupa. The portions were very generous(we should have shared a pasta)and the food was very well-prepared. We both ordered fish(trout for me, grouper special for my husband) and it was excellent. The restaurant was very busy(this on a rainy, dreary Friday,late afternoon)but the wait staff was very attentive and friendly. We were very happy with the entire meal.

    The food is fabulous at Lupa. The pasta is unbelievably fresh and innovative. Salads are also high quality. Everything we had was excellent - food and drink. It is noisy which makes intimate conversation difficult, but the food here is definitely worth it. Make reservations far ahead!

    The food was great, the service was even better (the terrific waiter, not the hostess). I brought my daughter for her 16th birthday and we both thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. And the prices were very reasonable. I heard about Lupa from a friend in Toronto, and we will definitely recommend it to any of our Canadian friends who are going to New York. Thank you!

    we should have eaten in the front room. the back room didn't feel very special. but the food and service were among the best in the city. even the foccacia bread served when we sat down was amazing, and i usually do not like the consistency and dryness of foccacia bread. our server made us feel like she was our personal butler, always on hand.

    The food at Lupa is italian heaven on a beautiful plate... the service is great and friendly... and to top it off, the music is amazing - in the course of our meal, we heard our favorite songs from Arcade Fire, The Shins and Interpol! Definitely one of our top 3 favorite new york restaurants, and we've tasted most of the city's top restaurants.
