Last week, we went to Bernie's for the first time. From the outside, it looks like a cool place and the hostess was quite attentive and sat us promptly. There seemed to be way too many staff members milling around the dining room with apparently nothing to do. The dining room wasn't full yet, but do they need to hang out in the dining room? I had a steak and it tasted burnt. The inside was not over done, but the flavor threw off the whole meal. We also ordered brussel sprouts that were so over cooked, they were mush. They did take the brussel sprouts off the check, but I don't think we'll be going back anytime soon. We were hoping for a new hip hotspot in town, but were very disappointed.

This was my 3rd time at Bernie's in the three weeks they have been opened. Each time I have ordered different selections and have yet to find anything that was less that spectacular. The staff is warm and welcoming. It is apparent that everyone truly wants the guest to have a wonderful time. Kudos to all.

We were unknowingly talked into ordering higher priced drinks by our waiter when we were there for their twilight special. Be specific when ordering well drinks or wine.

Nicely prepared food in a classic white table cloth atmosphere. Booths around the edge of the room with tables in center. A duo was playing live music in the bar the night I dined there. They are the perfect distance from the dining room so the music doesn't overwhelm the experience. Not haute cuisine, but really good with appropriate portion size (not too much or too little food).

We simply can't get enough of this place. It is a long drive for us from our home in Indian Wells, but we're willing to pay the price of the drive for the fun, great service and fantastic food. Love having the Chef stop by to check on us each time we're in and we feel like VIPs from the minute we walk through the door. Incredible.

Wasn't expecting too much from a brand new restaurant (opened about 3 weeks ago) but boy was I wrong to short sell them! The staff was outstanding - warm and welcoming. The owners even checked on us personally to make sure everything was perfect - and it was! We were a party of 10 and each guest remarked the food was some of the best they had ever eaten. The service was flawless with all entrees being delivered that the same time and set in front of the proper guest without anyone asking "who had the........." - really a class act. You can count on us to be back over and over again.

This restaurant is clearly suffering through the new opening challenges. Service is poor, food is awesome, a bit pricey but for the food quality and creativeness of the chef worth it. They need more seasoned servers or at least a server who can read a table and the guests. Going through the motions with no personality will not suffice. Good food will bring people back but poor service will not. Glad they kept the pictures from Davey 's. Dining room is packed in like a cattle car. No room for guests or staff to move easily. Outside dining won't improve the room flow. It's horrible.

We've been to Bernie's several times now. Every time we talk about where we want to go for dinner I can't think of anyplace else! The food and service and both top notch. The atmosphere makes me think of what Palm Springs must have been like in the 1950's (in a good way!). We'll be back again and again!

I was not expecting such 5 star service and delicious food. They even called me the following day to see how we liked it. The live music was chill music such as one would expect in a lounge bar - not too loud.

The interior has been cleaned and refurbished and looks quite nice. A jazz group was playing and seemed to be appreciated. But, check out the menu. All of the old favorites are gone, and it is difficult to find an appealing entree. The "wedge" salad suffered from a topping-deficit and was overpriced, as was the beet and tomato salad, with its unappetizing chunks of beets, a few grape tomatoes, a piece or two of feta cheese and a largely invisible kalmata olive dressing. The three (3) small scallops were done to the point of being rubbery and served on a mess of gruel, consisting of watery risotto, with some anoki mushrooms, and some very salty pieces of ham. The pork chop was also way overdone. The prime rib was huge.

This was our first time there and we will return again. The owners and Chef were very visable and interested in you thoughts. We had the pork porterhouse and the Pappardelle duck ragu. Both were very good dishes. Currently the menu is somewhat limited which can be a good thing. It would limit my visits because I like to try everything and of course others with find it great. They have toned up the restaurant and it looks good. The one thing to remember is the valet parking is now on Palm Canyon (follow the cones). Our first time there we were somewhat confused but will know what to do next time.

this place was a long time old Palm Springs place called Davey's. New owners, new name. Its now about 25% higher in food costs and you get less food. Chef is a real hottie, young, ambitious and knowledgeable. Just what the older crowd needs. Use to get a salad or soup with the $38. prime rib dinner. Not now, its extra, $11 for a wedge that's a "slice" of iceberg and not a section--cheap. Spencer's gives you a section for $9. Help is very overly attentive. Also it appears they have was too much staff, because you see them standing around . I can't say the food is not good, it is, but its less of it and more $$$. Same pictures, light fixtures, new carpet and still the smallest restrooms in the world. Not a top 10 in my book.

This was Davie's which we enjoyed for years until it closed last season. Bernie's took it's place and is quite nice inside. Warm and friendly atmosphere with the owners and the help all interested in making your experience a good one. I had the scallop risotto which was top notch. The arugula salad was also excellent. My husband had the pork which he thought was good but not great. Our friends had the prime rib and new york steak both of which were announced as very good. The only item that was below average were the brussel sprouts side. They had live music which was more of a background noise level. Well done

We enjoyed our meal once the seating arrangements were sorted, too small was the original table so they reseated us and the evening went well. The restaurant needs a bit more organization but that will come with time. For Bernie's like many others, try to let people dine and do not squeeze in too many people. Keep the crowd to a workable size and you will do great

This was our second visit to Bernie's and it did not disappoint. We took out of town guests and they loved it. I got a text the next day from one of our guests saying thanks for revealing this wonderful gem to us - we all felt like VIPs when we were there. And the food was amazing. Try it we know you'll like it.

This just opened restaurant is a little rough around the edges from a service aspect, but our server was nice and the food was very good, so all-in-all, our group had a nice time. The cocktails are classic and well done. The vibe is "Sinatra cool" . The night we were there, a jazz combo was playing in the background. We have already told friends about this place and we will be back.

After only opening 5 days ago, we were very impressed with the high level of organization and service at Bernies. The food was stellar. While each of the four salads and entrées that we sampled were excellent, the chopchop salad and lamb entrée were superb! Check out this new restaurant for sure, but make certain to have reservations.

We went for NY's Eve, second night it was open. Loved the atmosphere and energy of this restaurant. The service was great and all the staff were friendly and willing to accommodate all requests. Drinks were good but the food needs some more work on presentation and preparation. We feel confident the food will get better over time once all the little things get worked out.

We went to Bernie's on their opening night, then again for New Years Eve and then again about a week later. Each new experience was even better than the last. The food is excellent, the Prime Rib is the best I have ever eaten, anywhere! The appetizers are amazing, we especially like the chefs special Charcuterie plate, Mario Batali look out, we enjoyed this one even more than the ones we had at both of his high end restaurants in Las Vegas. Truly can't say enough good things about the food, the service, the overall atmosphere of the place, we love it all. Why can we only give 5 stars, I would rate this place a 10. We eat out nearly every night, and are so happy to have found Bernie's. Going back for Valentine’s day and can't wait.
