A word from Montgomery Inn - At the Boathouse
Montgomery Inn at the Boathouse is one of the most popular restaurants in Greater Cincinnati. Our world-famous ribs, our friendly service, and our striking view of the Ohio River, makes us a unique restaurant that you and your friends & family will remember long after your meal is over.

Sports fans will love the upstairs sports lounge with sports memorabilia on the walls, as well as the autographed photos of famous visitors who have dropped by. So come on in and get yourself some ribs and watch your favorite team in a fun, classy atmosphere.

Our world-famous ribs are definitely a hard act to follow but we found a way. For dessert, indulge in another Cincinnati culinary tradition: Graeter's black raspberry chip ice cream.

We found this find last year after recommendation from a friend. Can I say delicious & $$$ priced suitable. If that is not enough, on our visit this time they even have 3/$30 meals. What a deal. If your tight on your budget, 1 order of full slab ribs can feed 2 people. Go enjoy, have a night out. Right for the price!!

We have a friend for whom a trip to visit us would not be complete without a stop at Montgomery Inn Boathouse. We had another evening of great fun enhanced by delicious food. 6 of us ordered Ted's Platter - and everyone cleaned their plates but me because I couldn't squeeze in another bite.

My wife and I went to Montgomery Inn at the boathouse for dinner and we asked for a window table to look at the river. We were seated at a great table looking out at the river. Our server was attentive and nice. The food was great . We will definitely be returning.

As always the restaurant was lovely and the staff attentive and professional, but for whatever reason, our food was slow in coming which for us wasn't a big problem. Two of us got the large slab of ribs and they were dry and not up to the usual high standards of this restaurant. Fortunately the rest of the food and side dishes were wonderful as always, so we would come back.

We were sat out in their Beer Garden which would have been fine if they didn't also have a server station out there (right next to our table) where they threw all the dirty dishes. It was soooooo noisy. They weren't just setting them down in the tubs I saw one server toss a plate which made everyone jump. The servers were not overly friendly which I would expect at a moderately expensive restaurant. Most seemed they were just there to do their job. My steak came out waaaay overdone and my husbands chicken was bland. I feel like they might have made some changes to their food because the Mac n cheese was a lot different from a couple years ago. The noodles were soggy and the cheese was disgusting. And I used to be a big fan of that dish.

Be aware, the reservation through OpenTable is not an actual reservation, but just pulls you to the front of the waiting line when you arrive. We still had to wait 15-20 min. Luckily, we had time, but don't count on your reservation time if you have another engagement. Meal was enjoyable tough and tasty though.

Came here with coworkers before flying out on a Wednesday night. Awesome place right on the river. The service is semi formal but the clientele attire ranged from jacket and tie to business casual to reds and bengals gear. I was very comfortable in my dress shirt and slacks and ordered the single order of ribs which were fantastic. Sauce was sweet and tangy with a tomato base and the meager fell right off the bone. I won't be getting rubs for some time because anywhere else after this will surely be a let down! My experience at the Montgomery inn was great overall.

As out of towners on a road trip, we dined here on the recommendation of many people. Boy were we disappointed! The service was okay, however our server seemed very stressed and didn't have time to make suggestions for us. Based on reviews I read, I decided to order the ribs. I think there may have been some meat under the pool of sauce on my plate but I'm not sure. Anyone who knows real BBQ knows that the meat should stand on its own. We also ordered "Saratoga Chips" based on reviews we read. The plate of kettle chips came out and I was sure they just opened a bag from the supermarket. To make things even stranger, they served the chips with. . . you guessed it . . . more BBQ sauce. For what we paid and what we got - thumbs down.

The "3 for 30" special is the way to go. Blue Cheese Lettuce Wedge is fresh, cold and loaded with bacon. Very appealing. Ribs have a legendary reputation, and they lived up to it in every way. Tender, meaty and smothered in Montgomery Inn's unique "Ribs King" sauce. Sides are ok. The profiterole was rich and delicious. It was a special treat to be seated Bob Hope room. This is a must-visit on any trip to Cincinnati.

The only bad thing is they pretty much force you to Valet park, as street parking is very minimal. They could easily just let everyone park in the parking lot for free like every other restaurant you go to. Valet only cost $4, but it is the principle of the matter. Otherwise food, service, and view is good.

Montgomery Inn was recommended to us by a friend. It was an excellent choice. The location was great - an excellent view of the river! We ate inside but it was nice to know that on a warmer night outdoor dining would be available. The food was very very good and the server was quite attentive. He allowed us to share a rack of ribs and even split it into two portions for us. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who was visiting the area.

This was our second time visiting. Jerry was our server and he was very engaging and friendly. The ribs were delicious and we also had the Saratoga chips as an appetizer, which is a must have. The view was very nice. Only thing that could have been better was our greet by the hostess. She was a a little rude when we came in and was quick to say there was a long wait for a window seat. It is understandable to be the wait, but the way we were told was just rude. Other than that it was another wonderful experience!

Diner started out slow with having trouble finding a parking spot. Opted to valet park, well worth the $4.00 price(you can even elect to put it on your dinner bill) server was a little slow to loosen up, but once I got him engaged in some conversation, he loosened up. Pork chop was great, ribs were ok.Lots of neat nostalgia from different sports venues from around town. Well worth the trip, but pack your patients when it comes to parking.

The restaurant itself is nice and in a great location looking over the water. The prices are high and the portions are small for the price. They probably have to keep the prices higher since it's in a good location. The food is good but nothing really special. You can get larger portions, better food, and better prices at other BBQ restaurants in the area but the view is nice and the service was good so it just depends on what you are looking for.

When we checked in on-time for our reservation, we were told it would be 15-3 min.same as everyone else w/out one.it only took 10 min and we got a great table, so all evened out! Onion straws were a great starter. My Mac and Cheese side was barely warm and I wanted to send it back.our waiter was always in such a rush, he did not take time to check on our satisfaction with our meals. He did keep dropping off fresh beverages, but never really asked us if all was OK. Annoying. The rest of our food was fantastic and prepared better than MInn Columbus. The pork chop was grilled to perfection. Biggest drawback was the temp of the restaurant. It was freezing! Had to buy tshirts to warm up.maybe that was their master plan. Boathouse is the best.

On the Ohio River with a great view, their signature food is great, especially barbequed ribs; other items good. Very loud, not impossible but not the best place for a business meeting or other event where talking is desired. Now take "reservations" they aren't real reservations but it get you ahead of the walk-ins. Better than nothing which was their past policy.
