A word from Montgomery Inn - Fort Mitchell
Upbeat, fun atmosphere – from the Montgomery Inn in Ft. Mitchell, KY, the sweet smell of our barbecued ribs now wafts from a point south of the Ohio River.

Our world-famous ribs are definitely a hard act to follow. That’s why we also offer equally out-of-this-world entrées and combos, signature appetizers, soups and salads, and seriously decadent desserts. And if you have little ones who refuse to eat anything that’s not a nugget, children’s menus are available as well.

  • Ft. Mitchell over The Boathouse!

We gathered for a birthday celebration and all left with positive thoughts and more than enough to eat. The ribs were great as usual, the lettuce wedge was one of the best we've tasted around town, and of course the selections of sides were excellent. Our server handled the requests of all 7 guests expeditiously and with a smile. We all agreed this was our best visit ever and beat our visits to the Boathouse location where it's sometimes hard to feel appreciated.

Tried & true. Prices went up a bit though, and dinner salad keeps getting smaller.

The food & service are good. The servings are generous & probably would satisfy most people's appetite. The Inn is a nice place to eat once in a while. I would not visit more frequently as, in spite of the things already mentioned, I came out of the restaurant feeling like I experienced "mass production", like I just came off the production line.

  • My husband ordered the "special"

    Dined on 12/31/2013
My husband ordered the "special" which was suppose to be a nice steak, topped with mushrooms. It looked and tasted more like Salisbury steak from a can. He didn't even eat half of it and the waitress didn't even bother to ask why. I think she was more interested in getting us in and out so the next table could be seated, working on the tips I guess. When we ask if they had any specials the 35 dollar steak was the only one she told us about, then as we were leaving we saw the board outside and there were two others listed, one which was Prime Rib, our friends that were with us would have ordered the Prime Rib had she told us about it. I don't think we will be going back.

Food was as expected from the famous Montgomery Inn. Everyone enjoyed what was ordered except the WINGGGS. Tasted like hot sauce was just poured on them. Service was not up to the service that you get at the Riverfront/Downtown Cinci location.

Had a 7:15pm reservation, did not get seated until 7:30pm. I almost left, but the wife wanted to stay. After we got seated, everything was good. The ribs were great. The best in Cincinnati. I would go back.

While the food was very good as usual, mistakes were made and it took over 1 hour for our food to arrive. Granted, our waitress had a large party that was served before us, but waiting over 1 hour was a bit ridiculous. We never have that problem at Boathouse and this is not the first time we have had issues with the Ft. Mitchell location. We dine there periodically because it is close to home, but I still prefer the Boathouse! I am not finding fault with the waitress; management must find ways to have extra help for large parties so that other customers are not waiting for long periods of time.

I've enjoyed Montgomery Inn for many years, although I usually only get there nowadays for special occassions - mostly because it's pricey. They still have great ribs and I love the shrimp cantonese with plum/mustard sauce. The service was excellent, too.

Since we don't live in Ft. Mitchell, our family tends to eat at Montgomery Inn on special occasions or during their infinite ribs specials. This time we went due to the infinite ribs special. The ribs are so tender and I love the bbq sauce they use. The service is excellent and ribs are always replenished quickly. it is a good idea to make reservations during these specials or be prepared for a lengthy wait. I can't speak to the flavor of anything else on their menu other than their ribs and pulled pork bbq since I always order one or the other.

In the past this restaurant's food was always great. Lights out delicious! The past two times have been just OK. The salmon dish I had on Saturday night was overcooked and tough and the sauce was a very poor bearnase. The baked potato was under cooked. I can not recommend this location in the future. The service was great, but I go to a restaurant for the food.

Waited 15 mins addt'l & were seated closer to 7:15 pm even tho reservation was for 6:45. Partner ordered full slab of ribs, broccoli, coffee; I ordered bbq chicken baked potato & broccoli with coffee also. Potato was split & both entrees were cooked well with the ribs and chicken both being moist & tender. Ribs came out with a large amount of sauce over the enitre rack, which was too wet. Steamed broccoli was tough & tasted barely blanched versus steamed. Didn't eat hardly any of mine, & partner ate just a few bites. Coffee was hot & rich smooth flavor, which our server kept filled along with our water glasses. Overall we had a nice meal and no leftovers for my dining companion on the ribs, which says it all; they were thoroughly enjoyed.

It is tradition for our visits to Creation Museum. I always get the ribs! A trip to Cincy would not be complete without Montgomery Inn. Best Mac and cheese and chips. Does not serve caffeine free diet though. Missed a drink sale! I have nothing else to say but this review says I have to have a min of XX characters. I should do a review on this review service!
