MStreet Bar & Grill, located in the St. Gregory Hotel, has undergone a transformation, the décor with a touch of 20’s glamour by introducing a bold Black and White Scheme, plushy upholstered furnishings create an elegant yet casual setting. Fabrics were selected for the nostalgic glamour of classic silver screen with very tailored “Tuxedo” black and white chairs, the look is decidedly sexy, retro-hip and contemporary. We went for the Sunday Brunch and had a wonderful meal, until the desserts came out. They looked and tasted like they sat around in a refrigerator for a few hours/days. Everyone in the group enjoyed everything else. Great location, good service, nice ambiance and a pleasant surprise for a good brunch. We are planning on coming back in the near future.

known for a good sangria at happy hour, the bartenders will also customize a drink from the Happy Hour list to suit you. The menu seems to always be changing. The ingredients are semi-seasonal, and generally locally sourced. This last visit, I had the petit, lamb chops over a lentil stew of vegetables. It was very flavorful and tasty. The berre rouge sauce with the grilled salmon is also a great option.

  • I caught up with a friend
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008

I caught up with a friend for dinner. The openness of the restaurant made it a little noisy for our conversation at times, but the staff did not try to rush us out the door as we lingered after eating. I had the seared salmon which was interesting but overdone. It was somewhat dry, and I thought that "pan seared" meant it would be lightly cooked. They also had food at half price that day, but I didn't see it advertised. They could have had more business if people had known.

Don't let the name fool you, this is no pub and restaurant. This was a very beautiful and elegant restaurant with a great atmosphere for brunch. The food and free-flowing mimosas were excellent. I took my family there for father's day and everyone was very satisfied.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2006
    Dined on 6/7/2008
My wife and I knew nothing about the neighborhood, and were not acting on a recommendation, so we did not know what to expect. Though the crowd was pretty thin for a Saturday night, the food did not disappoint. We each had appetizers and entrees, all of which were excellent. I will give a special plug to the stuffed trout. It was savory. The dessert was just okay, and we would skip it next time. In all, M Street Bar & Grille was an excellent experience, and we would go back.

    PhillyFoodieVIP

This restaurant turned out to be a total disappointment. The hostess had no customer service training and a lousy personality. There appeared to be no management personnel on duty, and the young staff was poorly trained. Although we were the first diners to arrive for dinner that evening, the rug had clearly not been cleaned from the earlier lunch diners. The appetizer was good, but the entrees were tasteless and overcooked. I paid with a credit card, which disappeared with the waiter for some 15 minutes. The next day, I checked my credit card account online and found that over $600 had been charged to this card at the same time as my dinner. Coincidence? I will leave it to my credit card fraud department to decide. DON'T EAT HERE!!!

    Dined on 5/17/2008
I really enjoyed my meal. From a business standpoint, the smaller portions seem to maximize the average check. From a customer perspective and slightly health conscious, I enjoyed the smaller portion sizes. I was able to squeeze in dessert and not leave too full. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the lamb chops. They were both delicious. We plan to visit again. The server was very attentive to our needs.

I did not make it to the restaurant but the rest of my party did and they loved it. The rest of the party is from a rural area and they thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant setting as well as the meal. Thanks for a great dining experience and next time I am in town I will make reservations for M Street Bar and Grill.

Our server was not very pleasant and did not know the wine menu very well. We had to point to menu to show her the wine that we wanted. The there were few items on the menu that we were interested in ordering. Based on our server's behavior and the limited menu items we decided to just have our drinks. We left to eat elswhere. As we were leaving we witnessed a couple at another table sending their meals back to the kitchen. We were glad that we decided to leave. We weren't willing to pay $40-$50 per person for a meal that we weren't going to be satisfied with and lack luster service.

M Street Bar & Grill was able to accommodate a last-minute get together for me and my 13 friends. They sat us right away eventhough our party had not all arrived. The cocktails were OK, although my husband raved about the Bloody Marry. But the Entrees and the dessert definitely stole the show. The NY Strip steak was the winner that night, although the lamb, duck and seafood was quite memorable as well. The Apple crumb had a superb phyllo 'crust' but the chocolate (tart?)was sublime. Love the new decor. The waiter was courteous and accommodating. Although there was another large group before us, the restaurant wasn't too crowded or noisy. I would definitely come back for the food and service! Thanks for making our night-out special, bravo!

A bit overpriced for the quality of the food and wine. The menu was nice but nothing special. I don't mind paying that much when I find especially inventive menus, but this one was not that inventive. I found the cost of wines per glass a little higher than you might find at some restaurants that are much better than this one.

This place was awful... the steaks were fatty, the side dishes were over cooked, the appetizers were cold, the service was "aggressive." Worse, the waitstaff didn't understand their own wine list. Dinner for two was $120 with tax tip - a huge waste of an evening.

We absolutely loved it. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed with the warmth of smooth live jazz, vivid colors and decor and a cozy, classy and relaxed environment. Our server, Rosa, was flawless. The food arrived in a timely manner. By the time we were done with our appetizers, it was not long before our entrees followed. We were at brunch for two and a half hours and our glasses were always filled and we never felt rushed. I have already recommended the brunch to several friends and am considering it for a larger party!

Not only was the brunch menu inaccurate, they simply did not offer half of the items promised. I was incredibly disappointed and will not return! How can you trust a restaurant which posts it "Special Easter Brunch Menu" and then changes nearly the entire menu? I certainly wouldn't send anyone there. Service was pushy and once the food arrived it seemed like a cattle call. Waitress did not know who had ordered what and the dishes were simply called out.

It was my first time visiting this restaurant. I went with a potential client of mine. Half way through our meal, a family with two young kids and a baby were sitted right next to us. The baby screamed the entire time. And, since we were in the "atrium" portion of the restaurant, the screams just echoed. I was quite disappointed. I thought this wasn't a kid-friendly restaurant.
