I ordered the rib eye from the lunch menu and requested medium-rare. The steak arrived and it was done medium. I didn't ask for a different piece. However, the steak was tasteless and rough in spite of the big portion. I won't recommend anyone to go there. The food is not worth the price.

Steak was delicious and juicy. The meat was perfectly red in the middle. Javier, our waiter remembered my opentable comment and brought out dessert with a candle and a happy birthday serenade (and I didnt have to remind him). Food was slightly better than Wolfgang's (which means it was slightly better than great). The restaurant was well-lit and more spacious. Recommend it to all steak-enthusiasts.

We've been going to the Benjamin for almost two years now and without any doubt, I can say it is the best steakhouse in New York City. This is not a NYC scene but more of a real New Yorker type of place. No tourists, very nice decor, great atmosphere, amazing steaks and the best service in town. Make sure you order some slices of bacon to start.

The focus is on food, not decor, ambiance and certainly not about having a quiet meal or conversation. Tables are tight up against each other. Service is exceptionally fine. A terrific choice if you want a great steak, masculine decor and lively environment.

Benjamin Steakhouse had a great atmosphere when you entered. Our server,Charlie, was a true professional. He was courteous but not overly friendly (like some waiters who don’t know when to stop talking,he knew exactly when to come back to the table, and how often. The food was excellent, they truly know how to perfectly cook a good cut of meat. They were aware of my celiac allergy upon arrival and accommodated it.One of our favorites aside from the meat was the creamed spinach side dish. For spinach lovers, this dish is highly recommended. We have been recommending this restaurant to others as it is one of our favorites and can’t wait to visit New York again to make our reservation to dine there again.Definitely worth your time, appetite and money!

Outstanding steaks; sides were less than memorable, but portions were generous. Heat generated by sizzling steak plates made the temp in the room soar once the food arrived, but otherwise a great spot. Service was very good; sometimes too attentive. Great steak, great cold seafood appetizer, great sides... Service was outstanding. Very engaging and friendly with our two boys (16 and 10). Only downer was a mediocre apple strudel for desert. Apples were mealy and bland. My wife's creme brulee was excellent though and the strudel was just a MINOR blip on a great meal. Come prepared w/ a fat wad of cash or plenty of room on your Visa though. Like all the NYC steakhouses, it ain't cheap...
