They went out of their way to accommodate our large group and were very attentive to all our needs. The food was great and the atmosphere is intimate. You can't beat the prices for a great meal with a gourmet flare. The menu is fresh and has something for even the pickiest of eaters. Thanks for a great night =)

Stopped in on the way to a show at the Masonic Auditorium. This small neighborhood spot is worthwhile for the well-tuned menu and wine list. The staff is pleasant, the service is speedy and attentive. Prices are fair. Can't ask for more!

I was excited to read great reviews for Olea AND they have a vegan and vegetarian entree that's NOT mushroom risotto. Service during dinner was excellent, ambiance was nice and cozy. We ordered the leek soup and also the salad for starters- both were good; soup a tad salty and salad a tad peppery. My non-vegetarian husband ordered the Scallop with chanterelle mushroom risotto (ha!) and I ordered the vegan pasta. The scallop dish, I'm told, was better than my veggie pasta (can't be helped), but not by much. The veggie pasta was not bad, again quite peppery, but nothing to write home about. I give them an A for their effort. Overall, it was a decent experience. I'll give them another chance for brunch next time.

I can't believe I've never been here before! I live in the neighborhood and had family in town and I realized that reservations are accepted for dinner. It felt like we had been invited to a formal dinner in someone's home! The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I'm looking forward to going back many times.

My friend and I had dinner there before going to a concert at the Masonic Center ( walking distance). The food was delicious and quickly brought to the table after we announced we were limited in time. The scallops with chanterelles and ricotto dish was very tasty even for someone like me who typically doesn't like ricotto. The quinoa bowl was also full of various flavors and my friend enjoyed it very much. Overall we had a great time there and we will certainly go back next time we are in the city.

We ate here the night before the Nike Women's Half Marathon. The food was excellent, the wine was great, and it was a fun little neighborhood spot perfect for our casual group. The restaurant manager called to confirm and explained the cancellation policy clearly letting me check with my group before confirming. He asked if we were running and even called to ask if we wanted an earlier reservation when an earlier table opened up! Excellent service! I would highly recommend to friends and I would return on another visit to San Francisco.

Service was very good, food was quite good and reasonably priced. Portions are not too big, not too small.I wished I had a better selection but that's just me. We were a group of 12 and the restaurant is very small but they accommodated us well. They answered all our questions since some of the group members were quite picky. Overall was a very good experience and I would go back anytime. It is an intimate atmosphere, very simple, nothing fancy, fit for a small group getaway or a romantic dinner.

I was staying at the Gateway Holiday Inn for a conference and wanted good food close by. Olea was an unexpected delight! The food was delicious. I had veal meatballs and pappardelle pasta. Every bite was superb. My son had the couscous salad which was full of flavor and not to be missed. He also had pork belly and it was savory, crisp-tender and with the amazing sauce it was a stellar dish. The wine list was impressive, with a great selection by the glass. Service was professional and friendly. The room is small and welcoming. You feel like you have stumbled upon a neighborhood gem. Definitely will return.

Better brunch than dinner experience. I had to ask for the wine list 3 times, they brought me the wrong dish, and it took awhile to get my check. I'd still come for brunch though and they were very apologetic for bring me the wrong dish and made me what I ordered :)

My husband and I were going to a show at the Rengency Ballroom and wanted to find a place close by for dinner. When we got to Olea and saw this cute little place with the "Hobbit" door (my husband's name for it, he's tall) and got inside and liked the ambiance, we were hoping the food would live up to the first impression. And it did! We shared their take on a caprese salad, the duck and the pork belly. It was all delicious. Staff was friendly and gave us just the right amount of attention. We struck up a conversation with the owner, Phillip, and he mentioned their brunch. We went back for brunch yesterday and it was great as well. The ambiance is more cozy for dinner and we didn't have to wait, but that French toast was fantastic.

The food at Olea is phenomenal. Just a few choices on the menu, but everything is stellar. Simple recipes, using amazingly fresh, nutritious ingredients that aren't too filling. It feels like a real treat without being an overindulgence. Small wine list but excellent pairings. The place is small enough to be intimate without trying too hard, and the cozy atmosphere also means that the servers never seem overextended, which makes the whole experience feel very personal. I have been to this place for brunch a few times since I live in the neighborhood, but recently had dinner there for the first time. I can't wait to go back.

This is a stellar find. The menu, short as it is, kept us away a month ago, but we decided to stop by on a whim this past Friday. The food is unbelievable: we had the braised beef, and pasta w/ veal meatballs, then the scallops. The entrees are all under $20, and while the portions are not huge the food is among the best we've had in SF. The service was fast, discreet and pleasant. The jazz music was audible but not loud and the conversations nearby were not intrusive - the restaurant seats about 25 people. We ended the meal with a Petite Fours and Blue Bottle coffee. Hands-down the best overall dining experience we have had in SF. Enter through the hobbit-like door at the corner of Larkin and California.
