It's our tradition to eat at Aspen's every Mother's Day. The buffet brunch is amazing, the food is beyond filling. Wait staff- always does a great job of taking care of us and making sure we have everything we need.

We have dined at Aspen east many times and enjoyed it each time. We went to Mothers day brunch and it was well managed food was good and hot, staff provided there usual great service, but in total it was not 'special'. My party all enjoyed it a lot. I was just expecting something 'special'

This was my first time having dinner at Aspen's. We had a great experience. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine list and menu and helped us with our selections. We started with the Wedge Salad (enough for 2) and my husband had the filet and I had the trout. Don't miss the corn side dish---delicious!!! We will definitely go back.

We took both sets of our parents for Mother's Day for dinner, and it was wonderful! My mom's prime rib was fabulous, and the trout with gouda grits was a hit that my husband and my father both enjoyed. I and my mother -in-law both got the filet with crabmeat Oscar, which was melt-in-your-mouth fantastic. My father in law got the hanger steak, which he enjoyed, but in my opinion, pay the extra bucks to get a premium cut. The apple tart with cream cheese ice cream was a hit -- we shared it as a table and I really wanted my own! Pretty good wine list, we were able to find something that was lovely and not HUGELY expensive. Our parents raved and raved about the meal. The ambience was just right, not to stuffy or pretentious, but private.

We were looking for a great steak restaurant to celebrate Mother's Day, I don't travel out to North Cobb very often but , I did notice that it was conveniently located slightly off my normal route. I am not sure how Aspens has not been on my radar until now. I found the food, service, and attention to detail to be way above par! The wait staff are professional , informed and very concerned with conveying a very satisfying dining experience without being rushed. The noise level was perfect @ Aspens and is a problem in many restaurants. We were able to conduct a conversation over the meal with out having to shout or write notes! The food presentation and preparation were spectacular. I told the manager that we will be coming back soon.

We went for the Early Bird, before 6 p.m. and had a great dinner. We both had the hanger steak...done perfectly and served with blue cheese on top. Delicious! I has a side of giant asparagus and MDH had mushrooms as his side...both generous and beautifully seasoned. Our waiter, Steven, was attentive and helped us pick out a very nice wine. He checked in us often and was never intrusive. Quiet atmosphere where we could enjoy a lovely dinner and conversation.

  • A little disappointed in the food

My family has been to Aspens over the years for special occasions and the food has been excellent. However this past Saturday it was off, mainly on seasoning, my wife had scallops and they were over peppered, her salad was not seasoned at all and my soup was over salted. So we were disappointed by the food quality especially for the price charged. I am sure all restaurants have an off night but Aspens needs to look at the food quality with a more critical eye and not take the loyal customers for granted.

This was our first time at Aspens and we were really impressed. The service was good throughout our dinner, but got truly exceptional when my father got a surprise birthday cake from the house. The restaurant is really nice, very suitable for special occasions (though not too formal, so no problem to go there with young kids like we did). Another thing that stood out was the early dining menu, which offers attractive prices for various items that come of the regular menu (if ordered before 18:15).

Aspens in East Cobb is really a very special restaurant. My wife and I eat there at least once a month and it is always a "special treat". The food is good, the portions are large and they are always "hot" and the service is always great. Also, if you purchase one of their gift cards, you get a special bonus.

  • Disappointing Dinner

We dine at Aspens frequently. One of our favorites was the chicken schnitzel. Unfortunately, it was removed from the menu and replaced with another chicken dish that our server said was even better. On his recommendation, my husband ordered it, and asked for some arugula on the side. The server agreed, but when our meal came out he informed us that they did not have any arugula. Overall, the chicken was not good. He said it was a bit overcooked. The greens that came with it were mainly stems and inedible. He didn't even eat half of the mashed potatoes, which are typically a favorite. Very disappointing meal. Service was average. Will have to rethink going back anytime soon.

First time for brother and self but not the last. This will be our future Go To for Sunday. Our waiter (Tom, Tommy Thomas) couldn't have been better! Best coffee service we have ever had. Buffet was attractively presented and had a good selection of both breakfast and lunch items. Dishes were tasty and bountiful and never looked picked over. Their Prime Beef Potpie (a recent addition) was delicious and we were encouraged to relax and take our time. Without exception a cut above the ordinary!

Overall the food is outstanding but the service was lackluster. Had to wait for refills on our drinks constantly...If the restaurant is charging those price like an upscale eatery the wait staff needs to step up and perform. Though the steaks were delicious they were undercooked. Went there on a Thursday night for our anniversary so you figure a week night service would be great since it wasn't pack. I been to several eatery establishments where service was outstanding. I felt like I was over charged. If the service is not up to par it makes me feel like I should have just gone to a everyday spot. Myself and my wife both left like we just left an overpriced longhorns.

My reason for this review was the bad experience that my family and i had this past sunday April 6 2014. For starts we made a reservation and when we got to the restaurant the hostess could not find it and acted as it if was our fault, no welcome or anything she was very inappropriate, then we got seated and it took more than 10 minutes for someone to come by. Didn't understand as the restaurant was almost empty. The food was not presented well as my steak was very rubbery, It was not a signature steak! This is not my first time here, and in the past we had a better dining experience. I was a little embarrassed for my brother inlay and his wife, as we had told them that we were taking them to a nice rest.

You can get a better steak at Waffle House also the monk fist was over cooked and the prime rib wasn't thick enough to measure it was someone's birthday and they came out with a sliver of cake that was embarrassing 4 people 200 dollars. It's our fault for not saying anything but didn't want to ruin he birthday.

My wife and I debated as we chose among 4 area favorites to celebrate our anniversary. We ultimately chose Aspen's since we were both craving a good steak. I used to avoid eating steak out, thinking I could cook a steak better than a restaurant, but have been proven wrong a couple times at Aspen's -- whether it is the supplier or chef or both -- the NY Strip was simply awesome -- flavorful, juicy and cooked perfectly. Our waiter, Richie, was appropriately attentive -- we were never wondering where he was, but not bothered by hovering either. I wanted a side other than a baked potato and he suggested an off-the-menu item -- truffled garlic mashed potatoes -- the perfect complement to the steak.

I went to Aspens probably 7 years ago. I recall the steak being overcooked and nothing overwhelming. Well, I returned with some friends recently hoping for a better experience and unbelievably, nothing had changed. I ordered an 8 ounce filet, when presented, it looked like a 6 ounce filet but that really didn't bother me, because would have ordered a 6 ounce if they had it but still felt a little "ripped off" ($38) The disappointing part was I ordered it medium rare, and it was really more towards medium to medium well. I should have sent it back, but ate it as the others in my party were ready to eat and didn't want to hold everyone up. Our waiter when AWOL for a long time as well. Pretty sure it'll be another 7 years before I return.

We were very disappointed with the quality of the food for the price. It is not cheap and the quality of the beef was only fair. I was extremely disappointed in the service. I felt like they were trying to turn our table really quickly. We were there early and it wasn't that busy. We also had a reservation. The waitress asked several times if she could take my 5 year olds plate. I shared with her the first few times that she was still "nibbling". The last time she asked I finally said, "do you need the plate?" Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

We had a meal of "small plates:" crab cakes, mussels, calamari and the pear salad, to name a few, complemented by a good bottle of wine. The fare was uniformly excellent as was the service. Our server, Thomas, never missed a beat, anticipating our needs and making good recommendations. We couldn't have asked for better treatment. I'd recommend Aspens to a friend or business associate without hesitation.

Good selection of brunch items, covered every area of brunch dining such as waffles and omelets made to order, shrimp cocktail, grits, quiche, salads, veggies, mac n cheese...would recommend to anyone who loves Sunday brunch. We went to Aspens for the early bird specials and enjoyed the meal. We were celebrating the 84th birthday of my father-in-law and my wife's 50th birthday and had 6 people. Aspens had called earlier to confirm the open table reservation and they had our table ready when we walked in. The waitress helped select a good wine (not to pricey) and had good recommendations for the menu. The food was prepared exactly the way we liked it. Between all of us we had fish dishes, prime rib, chicken dishes and even a burger. Great job. The people were universally friendly and helpful. Aspens is a great place to go and the early bird specials make it a very reasonable night out for a high quality meal.
