A word from The Pinewood
The Pinewood is a neighborhood restaurant & bar that serves extraordinary cocktails and reinterpreted regional fare in downtown Decatur, Georgia.

We appreciate equally the high-class and the home-spun, and we think a neighborhood hangout ought to be both. That’s why our menu features elegantly inventive dishes alongside creative comfort foods, all of them made from locally sourced ingredients.

Our bar is stocked with not only the top-shelf spirits you’d expect but also house-made syrups, tinctures, infusions and sodas. Our service is friendly and gracious, our atmosphere both comfortable and refined.

The short ribs were very very dry and hard. I suggested they not serve them. I really cannot believe they even attempted to bring them out to a customer. The other items were nothing special. Overall quite disappointed and will not go back.

This reservation was for my birthday, and that was my one request. . .a drink at the Pinewood. Atmosphere is great, food is astronomical, and staff is outta this world! As frugal as I am, I will spend the money for these delectable drinks at the Pinewood. "The Day that I Die" is still my favorite and what I ordered that evening. The hostess was great. She took the time to prep an outdoor table for us (unlocked it and set it up in her cute dress). The staff came by at appropriate times with excellent service for drinks, meals, and checks. Our plates were great!! Grit tots, AWESOME! Beet salad, blew my mind. Chicken and waffles, on my husband's top 2. . . and he orders that at every restaurant. Thanks PW for a great birthday celebration!

So I'm kinda a burger enthusiast. Their 'double' cheese burger beats our General Muir, Bocado, H&F, Bookhouse and is well worth the $14 price tag. Also, this one of a few places tin Atlanta hat does creole/cajun food right. Be sure to get the gumbo and/or jambalaya if you can catch it on their daily specials.

We did the Scoutmob deal for our 10th Anniversary dinner at The Pinewood Tippling Room. The service was laid back and the server was awesome - but I do have a bit of an issue about full, long beards on servers. The food was prepared absolutely perfectly, right down to the seasoning, which often lacks in even the best restaurants. We were impressed with the kitchen's handiwork. We had beet salad, oyster po' boy, beef ribs and pappardelle bolognese - which were all superb. We had Old Fashioneds and a Quadrophenia, both spot on. For dessert we had the chocolate ganache tart, which was amazing and the bartender paired an amaro cocktail with it, which was the perfect pair for the chocolate. It's pricey, but totally worth it!

Downtown Decatur is so full of great restaurants that it is hard for one to stand out outside of the square. Pinewood makes itself memorable with a phenomenal drink menu (the day that I die drink is incredible) and delicious southern dishes. I recommend the Brussels sprouts, catfish and beignets -

We liked the livelyness of the place and the service was really good, but the food was just meh. For the kinds of prices they charge, we were expected to not get grisly short ribs. The accompanying elements was almost non-existent (2 brussel sprouts and perhaps a teaspoon of potato puree). We weren't looking for Cheesecake Factory portions mind you, but these were pretty small for entree portions. Also, Parking is really difficult at this location. They have their own parking but only about 3 spots as far as I could tell. Overall it was fun but a bit disappointing.

I've been eager to try Pinewood, but must say I was disappointed. The food was good, but the service was a bit snotty. The cocktails are supposed to be a highlight. The waitress looked annoyed when I asked questions. She was utterly condescending when I asked if they could add cucumber to a gin drink--a very standard practice in mixology for years.

Had a lovely evening with my lady at The Pinewood. We made a reservation online and ended up having to wait for a few minutes at the bar for a table, but we didn't mind a bit. The drink list was very creative and had something to make almost anyone happy. Due to the short wait, the bartender let us know that our drinks were on the house. This really shows that customer satisfaction is important at The Pinewood. Once we were seated we were greeted by a very friendly waiting staff. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and the staff made sure to inform her of all of the options that were vegetarian friendly. We couldn't have been more pleased with the quality of food. We will both definitely be visiting The Pinewood again!

The food was to die for - seriously some of the best I've had ever. My only complaint, and I can't believe this is an issue, but the food came out WAY TOO FAST. I was hoping for a 2 hour dinner with my boyfriend, and we had a full dinner in just over one hour. Our appetizer took literally 60 seconds from the time we ordered to when we started eating. Main course took about 3 minutes, and I had a steak. Dessert took the longest, at 4 minutes from the time we ordered. Pinewood, if you're reading this, SLOW DOWN. Your food is incredible, but I wouldn't go back if I wanted a relaxing experience.

the cocktails are what they specialize in I guess but as a bartender I found them overpriced and not great. The food was good but not memorable so I wont be back. There are so many good places in the area that this just didnt do it for us. There were 6 of us and we were meeting up with others later, we called them and told us to meet us elsewhere and we just moved the party.

We have eaten at The Pinewood 4 times. Every time has been a wonderful experience. The food is unbelievable. We have tried almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is fun and trendy. The noise level used to be a little too loud, but it seems that they have placed some sound boards along the ceiling that have greatly helped absorb the noise. The drinks are fun, crafty, and delicious. I highly recommend trying out the Pinewood. You won't regret it!

Good food but not excellent. Had the pork 2 ways, the brussel sprouts, the hush puppies, and the fried cheese balls. My friends really enjoyed their cocktails. This weekend, we visited The Pinewood for the first time. I had randomly selected the spot after reading positive reviews online, and I am so glad we chose to try something new. It was one of the most delicious meals I have ever had! Everything ordered at our table exceeded all expectations. I also ordered the Porch Punch from the bar, and I can honestly say that is the best drink I have ever had. The restaurant is hip, cozy, and lively. Overall, it was an exceptional experience, and I will definitely be back soon.

Good drinks, although my husband thought they were on the skimpy size. Great waitress. Loved our table, it was at one of the six person bar height tables. The tables at the front were too close together-would feel like you were eating dinner with the table next to you. Brussel sprout appetizer was good, my trout was too heavily breaded. I would try it again if someone wanted to go there.

This restaurant was clearly focused on making and selling cocktails more than the food. The food was fine (we had the pork and the burger), but more expensive than it should have been for what we got. On the other hand, Drew, our server was excellent. It was good to try the Pinewood, but do not feel the need to go back given the other very good restaurants in the area.

Although the menu is not extensive in terms of main courses I found myself struggling to choose between them because everything sounded wonderful. You could easily make a mean of the small plates as well. I chose the chicken and waffles - which I've never tried - and thoroughly enjoyed it. For those who are curious, it was a savory and herb waffle that matched the crisp, just right chicken. The drink options were substantive and original. I'll definitely be back!

Service was quick and food delivery was very timely. Waitress did have to check with the kitchen on the availability of items ordered which did seem odd for a noon brunch in which they weren't all that busy. Their online menu is not current! Current options look like they're likely smaller portions than the menus offered online.

Drove from Alpharetta to celebrate our friend's recent engagement. Arrived at 6:30, sat in the bar and chatted over the creative and TASTY mixed drinks. The bartender explained the design behind their drink menu (less potent drinks to begin the list, then increasing in potency). The venue is small and was full by 7, so they wisely do not add overly loud music to the experience. I was so pleased that we did not have to shout across the table to hear one another! Food is excellent; fresh and unique in preparation. Something to satisfy every palate, from fancy grouper with lobster risotto to fried chicken and waffles. Only mild quibble is the metal bar stools; slightly jarring when you first sit down. Otherwise, top notch gem in Decatur!

There were only 2 waitress for the entire restaurant and one bartender . We were seated and then another couple behind us . They were served before us and one had fried chicken . Our food was cold so we sent back 1 plate of food and hashbrowns . The waitress returned with a burnt hashbrown which I was furious , thinking the chef was being a buthole . We waited too long for the order to return. She did make a change to bill with taking off 2 drinks and the hashbrown. The couple beside us complained to us that they were not pleased . This is not good on a sunday and when your patrons are very hungry or trying to have a wonderful experience. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Picked this place out of the blue but remembered it had been on Atlanta eats and was big on drinks. Interesting drink menu. Nice selection of appetizers and ordered a few as could not decide. All were good but seemed to be on small size. Had pork belly but was barely two bites, didn't go for scallop as was singular and $12 which seemed high for just one scallop Had chicken and waffles which were excellent, catfish was excellent, ratatouille and polenta which was very good but portion could have been larger. Dessert was good beignet and chocolate cake, coffee was nice as they gave the table a French press will definitely return for more

Service (for brunch on a Sunday) was quite slow and forgetful (getting cream for the coffee took a second reminder, toast for an egg breakfast came when the eggs were practically eaten, the check showed a side item that never did get delivered).-- The food was good, no complaint. -- The ambience is so-so -- like a fast-food diner of old, not where one would really go for a nice sit-down dinner or Sunday brunch.
