Went to see the Mayweather fight. The seating uncomfortable and the burgers only so-so. Menu needs more variety and selection.

I always find Personas a nice place to come and hang out. I find it great for the entertainment and food. The portions are the right size, and you do not feel you have over eaten. The music is always good for dancing and listening to.

I ate here for lunch and my colleague and I shared a several small plates including dessert, everything we ate was disappointing. We had the sushi tacos, bacon wrapped dates, ebi mayo prawns, gilled cheese tomato bisque, south beach salad and tomato bocconcini salad. Thank goodness I got the south beach salad easy dressing, it was still drenched. The sushi tacos were fishy, ebi mayo prawns tasted like they were deep fried in old oil that vats hadn't been cleaned and the grilled cheese in the tomato bisque was made with processed cheese! As in the cheap and nasty cheese singles slices. The salads were by far the best of the bunch. Against our better judgement we finished with the deep fried oreos. They were soggy and oil drenched.

Dining at Personas is a favorite of ours. They have a varied assortment of choices. I selected the grilled salmon, which was done to perfection. My husband tried the Spicy Jambalaya and thoroughly enjoyed it. I do have to say we found the noise level a bit over the top. With 6 huge TV screens playing with the volume turned up, it made it difficult to carry on a conversation without shouting.

Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our dinner at Personas. It was a great choice for a date night. We were impressed with the variety of options on the menu and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I would recommend this restaurant and I'm sure we'll be returning soon.

I don't enjoy the type of chairs and table used in this place. Food was OK. The short rib was just cool-warm in the inside. Salmon was still a little raw in the inside. Waitress was very helpful and kind.

  • Not as good as before

For a night out entertainment, it is ok. Food and services are not as good as before the renovation. I used to go often as it had great atmosphere, but now, I feel like this place is trying to be vibrant and modern, but the food is only so so and the waitresses and bartenders are not as friendly as before. The seat plan is very strange and not an open concept...very closed. The patio is nice. For a group night out, this place is still a considerable option, but please improve food quality. I don't go to this place that often anymore as I feel bored by it.

  • A great alternative for FIGHT NIGHT

Lots of parking and most importantly, its FREE! The food is definitely better than the typical downtown restaurant/bar. I enjoy watching the fight and having half decent food. They cooked the steak as I ordered, rare. Will definitely come back here for fight night.

  • Business/social lunch

Our party of 5 had a business/social late lunch here on a Friday afternoon. The noise level was a bit excessive considering we were the only ones there although more people started to stream after 3pm. Sort of a sports bars atmosphere. Our server was friendly. We ordered the sliders, tacos, meat "sticks" and a salad as we wanted to share. Food came out quickly. Overall the food was ok but I was expecting more. Didn't seem as fresh and warm (temperture-wise) as I expected. I had heard good things about the food from a friend so I was disappointed. Although it is a good spot for a group and convenient to work based on this experience if I went there again it would not be for the food but more for drinks and maybe a snack.

First visit to the Burnaby Grand Villa Casino. The Personas bar was really interesting - Tapas concept as in lots of sharing plates, but not Tapas as in not Spanish food. The food was really good - ceviche was superb, Taco sharers nicely presented and very flavoursome, and the dates stuffed with brie and wrapped in bacon will be copied in our house for Xmas. Compact kitchen with 3 chefs who worked relentlessly and accurately to get some big tickets out for groups. Service was a little stretched as the sections were big and more people were sitting at the bar / kitchen once the band came on. Speaking of the band Groove + Tonic were fantastic - great energy, lots of fun and a packed dance floor.

I love the fact that as soon as you walk in, you're in a place of fun. My first time back since the renovations and it looks great. More seating and the setup so you can have a great view of the stage. The dance floor is still big enough to cut a rug. Now to the menu, there is a nice selection of small bites which is the trending thing to have. Order a few small plates to share over a bottle of wine, you can't have it any better than that. We had the tacos and favor the 5 spice duck confit. The braised beef brisket poutine was good as well as the sticks. They have a variety of sliders that I am going to try on my next visit. I really like the fact you can work off the food by dancing the night away.

  • A little overpriced...

A good selection of small bites but some are a little overpriced for what you get. The special for the day was seafood linguine and that was very good and a good size portion for the price. I had ordered a plate of three tacos and had to ask the server where it was as the others had received and finished theirs...it was then brought put quickly and a free dessert to rectify the oversight. We went here as we wanted to hear the band and possibly dance but the dance floor is too small.

  • Way too noisy - band was playing

Way too noisy - band was playing their music too loud with improper sound balance. Couldn't wait for them to take their break so that we could get some conversation or even greetings in among friends without having to scream into each others' ears!
