   Booked the sushi bar, had to wait 30 minutes for the spot I reserved. Then it took over 30 minutes to get a drink order in. Thank god the foods always good.

   Food at Oishi is always a family pleaser and our waitress was lovely. However, when booking a table for 5 people they will always squash you onto a table for 4, adding a chair at the end. Not ideal. Also be aware that, although the service and food delivery is swift (and some may want that) if you’re wanting to enjoy relaxing for the dinner period, you’re only allowed 90 minutes (even for a group of 5) and that’s provided you reserve your table ahead of time. A walk in group will only be allowed 75 minutes.

   There is so much energy in Oishei, that is could power the neighborhood. With each visit, the place is PACKED! It’s loud, it’s rocking and it’s busy! We had 7 for dinner. And our waiter was doing all he can to keep our sushi coming. The edamame was lightly seasoned and delicious. Add, 43, steak sushi, spring rolls and more and we ate through the menu! Go, eat , enjoy and realize this place a monument to sushi in Dallas

   Have visited Oishi on Wycliff and the one on Preston several times but made reservations at SMU because we had plans nearby. Reservation was for 5 and when we checked in was told at the front desk that limit to stay there was an hour and a half and after that we had to leave. What kind of greeting is that? We wouldn’t ever take that long for 2 people but the fact they greeted us like that was a huge turn off not to mention we were only 2 of 10 people in the whole restaurant. Secondly the waiter asked us if we needed anything else after he brought out our sushi and 5 min later we have our check at the table. Worst experience ever felt rushed from the get go and will never be back
