Food better than a Long Islsnd lobster shack. We sampled widely from menu-- all the standards and more, beautifully prepared with warm, professional service. Very noisy snd boistrous on Sat nite, so not the place for deep conversation. Delicious, casual and fun!!

This modern version of a clam shack is just the thing for Weho. It is noisy, vibrant and has amazing seafood. Did I say noisy? Well, modern restaurants are, alas. All that metal, concrete and hard surfaces vibrate to all that din of voices. Just be careful leaving some of the tables. They warn you sitting down that there is a step up but you are on your own when you leave and can easily forget the step.

This was my second time here. I took my girlfriend for our anniversary. The hot lobster roll is killer! It looks tiny, but that thing filled me up pretty well. My girlfriend said, "It was so good, it made me smile." Great beer choices too! Pistachio ice cream tastes like you're eating an actual pistachio.

This place has a great concept. However, the food needs to try harder to honor the regional dishes of New England. I grew up near Ipswich, MA where fried clams are extraordinarily good. I don't expect perfection, but fried food should not feel dense, salty and tough. Fried clams should be delicate, glistening and succulent. The dinner rolls were amazing and the fresh oysters were fab. There were only two of us eating and the waiter forgot to order my companion's appetizer which he, the waiter, took in stride. Buzz kill. I fear that unless the chef brings heightened focus to a regional cuisine by showcasing every dish's unique virtues, Ted & Connie's will be a flash in the pan. As is, it feels like a novelty experience not worth repeating.

It's great to have three choices of clam chowder styles, and even the opportunity to get a sampler of all three. Fried clams, lobster roll, cod, all were very good. By 6PM the place was packed. We sat outside on the patio, which is quieter.

Fabulous oysters, shellfish marinara, asparagus salad, grilled calamari, wild white Mexican shrimp. Fried offerings looked great but we weren't eating fried food. Stay away from the Portuguese seafood stew-uninspired! Great cocktails (we had vodka martinis and a bourbon cocktail).

The new West Hollywood hotspot was worth the wait! My boyfriend and I went for his birthday. I had to make reservations three weeks in advance to get a table. Everything was amazing! Oysters, fried calamari, and asparagus salad were delicious starters. As our entrees we shared steamed Lobster which was very reasonably priced and delicious. I also got the fish stew which was to die for. Hands down my favorite dish of the night. My boyfriend tried the fresh caught Halibut with seasoned breading. We got three sides, the Mac & Cheese which was great, the buttered rolls which were amazing, and the spinach with bacon which is the only item I would have done without. It was too salty. We are so excited to go back and love our new neighborhood gem.

The steamers were as good as one would find in New England! My husband complained his lobster roll had no flavor. My cold lobster was soggy, as well. I require my burger be served without a bun (I have celiac disease and would suffer for weeks), but they refuse to alter the presentation. Same for lobster roll. I'll stick with steamers and oysters! Seating on the patio adds to the ambience.

I expected a lot more. The food was very good. They gave us a better reservation time than OpenTable so that was very nice. The noise level was WAY TOO LOUD. We could hardly talk to each other. We came to have steamers, we love clams. And we love to have bread with. But they completely ran out of rolls. They charge for the rolls which is a-la-carte!!! I told them it was a birthday, but they did nothing about it. We went to the host to tell them we were here for our reservation, and the waiting area was BEHIND the host. It was awkward to get there, we had to walk through a narrow area. People were standing and talking in that narrow area, so we had to squeeze through. Our food server did not introduce herself, I had to ask her name.

Although not quite as good as The Hungry Cat, I can say that Connie & Ted's is pretty close. Their seafood is very, very fresh and the oysters are a good way to judge that. The fish and chips was the only dish I didn't love. Although it was very clean tasting, it lacked a punch. The service was fantastic, as was the superb ambiance. Their draft beer list was also impressive. We'll definitely be going back.

Since I live down the street, I've been to Connie and teds many times since its opened. I was there just the other night and noticed the level of food and my experience has gone down dramatically My chilled white mexican shrimp went from very fresh tender to chewy and them not all de-vained the coctail sauce is too sweet. as far as all the other food it's very salty and oily, The calamari is over breaded and the rings are so small its like eating fried batter.probably won't be returning unless its for a burger which are good, although you can go to many places for a good burger.

I was very excited to go to Connie and Ted's, had waited for months to go and just read Jonathan Gold's review. The food was good, but not exceptional, which is a let down, especially given the difficulty to get a reservation and the price. Everyone in our group has also lived in New England at some point, and our expectations were very high. The service was disappointing and there were a lot of menu items that we ordered but then were told that they had run out. The Rhode Island style clam chowder and raw oysters were excellent, everything else was not that memorable. The stuffies could be skipped. I might be willing to try it again and order different items, and hope that the service improves, but I was not impressed after this visit.

We started off with a half dozen of the Chef selection Oysters & Little Neck Clams. They were perfectly chilled & served with 3 dipping sauces. A must have is the Rhode island Clam Chowder. We also ordered Fish N Chips which had a light batter & flaky white Cod with crispy fries. Still wanting more, we ordered the Steamers. The drawn butter & clam broth was a hit. Moreover, we ordered the Homemade Dill Pickles. These were crisp & cold. Craving more salt, we dove into the Fried Calamari. For dessert, we split a slice of Peach Pie with Pistachio Ice Cream. The atmosphere was energetic and the music was a little loud but we could still carry on a conversation. The kitchen was bustling while the raw bar employees cut away.

I surprised my boyfriend and took him to C&T's for lunch, and I made a reservation. Once we got there, we realized we'd rather sit at the bar, and it was an incredible experience. We drank delicious bloody mary's and had front row seats to the oyster shucking bar. We had a taste of everything, and my taste buds were amazed. The clam chowder, oysters, and fish & chips were absolutely the stars of the meal, and I can't wait to come back!

Chowder sampler was entirely too salty - and I like salt... fish and chips - how can you screw that up? The fryer was not hot enough, obviously - the batter was soft, the fish mushy and full of oil, as were the chips. A total disappointment, and way over priced.

Clam cakes -true Rhode Island style clam cakes. Good, tartar sauce was tasty. steamers - generous portion and easily shareable. delicious with no sand, Fried clams w/bellies - plentiful, not sandy and not greasy. Best fried clams I've had on the west coast ( I'm originally from Mass' as good as some I've had back east Lobster roll with butter - the person who got this said the lobster was cooked perfectly, wasn't rubbery, unfortunately the lobster flavor was overwhelmed by the paprika and other seasonings. Indian pudding - I loved it and have never seen it out here. It's a cornmeal pudding with molasses and spices served warm topped with ice creAm. Blonde was good, very large with Carmel sauce and ice cream, very good, but very sweet

I wasn't impressed with the food here at all. The crab cake appetizer was ok but nothing special. I had the lobster roll with mayonnaise ("cold") and it was simply average. Just tasted like lobster mixed with mayo. The bun wasn't special either. The fries were nice, but that is the only thing I enjoyed. The lobster roll needed some herbs or salt or something mixed in for some added flavor to make up for the fact that we don't have good lobster out here. The valet parking was way overpriced but you're forced to pay it due to lack of parking in the area. Overall very mediocre food and not worth the hassle of getting into this place.

Great space, albeit a bit loud. It was very busy and the two hostesses seemed a bit overwhelmed, but we received a relatively prompt greeting, and were asked to wait in the "lounge" until our table was ready. Was approached by a lounge server almost immediately and ordered a couple glasses of wine. They won't let you pay the lounge server (?) but "requested" that we give a credit card and they would transfer the drinks to our dinner check. Our server Amy was extremely friendly, and knowledgeable about the oyster selection (which is HUGE). The kumamoto's were the best (IMO), and the grilled octopus was amazing. Excellently done halibut, "plain" style, with great roasted fingerling potatoes. DO NOT SKIP THE BLONDIE!!!

The clam chowder was watery, not creamy, the way clam chowder should be. The hot dog bun in which the lobster roll was served was toasted (yuk), not plain, as it should be. The fried clams did not taste fresh. (Perhaps they may have been frozen.) No, although the decor of the restaurant is very pleasant, I would not recommend Connie and Ted's.

Considering i had to book almost 2 wks in advance, we were expecting A LOT more. The food was good, not great but the service is definitely the sore point.. Firstly, we were ignored at the bar (after 10 mins a waiter rushing past helped us get the attention of bar staff). And then there's our waiter: In the middle of taking our order he went to check on the availability of a menu item and did not return! Not joking, almost 10 min later (and a lot of staring on our end) he came back and resumed order taking. One small pet peeve - if you list 'asparagus salad' as a menu item, there should be more than 2 shafts of asparagus on a huge bed of lettuce. Otherwise, list lettuce in the description. Not terrible, but definitely not worth going back.

... in L.A. thanks to master chef Michael Cimarusti. I eagerly anticipated this restaurant's opening and somehow it managed to exceed all of my lofty expectations. If you're a fan of oysters, lobster rolls, fried clams, fish & chips, great beer, excellent service, and all around world class preparations of seafood then you need to come here ASAP. Just awesome and actually better than the vast majority of seafood joints in the northeast. Cimarusti & Co. have taken all of the best elements of New England-style seafood classics and expertly brought them all together under one roof. Can't wait to go back and work my way through the menu.

The seafood was, across the board, wonderful! The restaurant is warm and light and bright as were the employees who greeted us on our way to the patio. Now, the important part, the food...The lightest fish and chips my boyfriend has ever had. We also loved the chowder (white and fresh, flavorful and not anywhere near the paste versions at many places), the clams, hot lobster roll, wedge salad, cole slaw, mac 'n cheese (possibly the best anywhere?!), bloody mary, one of the house cocktails with coffee was really good, and, thanks to an oversight in the kitchen, we even got to try the calamari. Not cheap but good seafood isn't and at this level of preparation, a steal!

The Fish and Chips are amazing. The price is a bit high, but I can't find better fish and chips so I guess I have to deal. The crab cake however was not that great. I've eater her about 5 times and all I get are the fish and chips so I have nothing else to review on.
    Special Features:
fit for foodies, good for groups, great for outdoor dining, neighborhood gem, hot spot, special occasion
