Went to 709 for first time recently and was quite happy with the place in general. The service was very good and the place is pretty cool as far as lighting etc. The food was well prepared and was very good. I had a halibut special that was an excellent piece of fish, but the flavor was lacking. The rice and vegetables with it were great and very flavorful. The other dishes also were quite good. The bill for 4 people with only one appetizer (calamari that we shared that was very good), no alcohol and no dessert was $185 including tip which seems a little high to me. All the entrees were over $30. I'd go back, though, I think.

I was there for dinner on NYE. I love that they had the regular menu options vs. a fixed NYE menu. There were also several specials offered that night. I had the Manhattan Clam Chowder as an appetizer and it was delicious. The scallop special I had was extremely good also. I have been to this restaurant several times and have always had a good meal.

We went to 709 for our Christmas luncheon at work. They did a great job - which inspired me to return with my wife. Intrigued by the "Asian grilled caesar salad" I was on a mission to return. We made reservations for an early new years eve dinner. We arrived at 7:00pm sharp and were seated immediately. The bar was buzzing with energy. Our meal consisted of the PoPoh platter - which is an absolute must! Calamari - pot stickers - goat cheese - bread sticks - spicy indian type ravioli $22. We split the caesar salad and it was spot on. Delicately warm, deftly dressed and complimented with asian noodles and roasted cashews. It was bang! The Mrs. elected to have soup for her entree and I dove into thh short ribs. Outstanding!

This was our second visit in a week to celebrate a family members birthday. Kids enjoyed the sushi and soft pretzels for appi's. DH and I enjoyed the pu pu platter which is a meal in itself. Fries are amazing, altho' DD thought they were a bit salty. Everyone opted for the Tres Amigos ( filet mignon sliders) which were delish. One member had a turkey burger, slightly dry but a side of honey mustard remedied that.. Noise level can be a bit high, but over all a nice place close to home with good food.

We went to see our friend's son's band play and were delighted with the service. We had a wonderful, cheerful waitress named Ashley. Food was OK. We had the pu pu platter which was enough for 4 people. Entrees were the short rib special, sliders, fish tacos and lobster roll. Everyone was satisfied with their choices. The kitchen was amenable to substitutions.

We have been to 709 before, and the food is consistently good. Recently we went for Jersey Shore Restaurant Week, and ordered off the special menu, the food was great! I hope they add those items to the menu. The place is modern and clean, the staff is friendly and efficient and the food is consistently good. What more could you ask for...

I heard great things about the restaurant which is why we went for dinner on a Saturday night. The noise level was exceptionally loud in the restaurant area. The menu is very limited unless you are a sushi fan. The food was very good. The overall experience though was okay. If you are a sushi fan, then this is the place for you. If not I would suggest you look at the menu before going as the choices are very limited.

Have been here numerous times and most likely will not be back. Should have realized when neighborhood restaurants had a waiting list and 709 did not there was a problem Very limited menu now with no pasta dishes. Signature pretzels were at best just ok. Not sure what has happened but it is very different from when it opened

The food here is good, but it is a glorified bar. The service was pretty bad; no one filled water glasses, etc. It is not a place to go if you want to have a conversation. It's just too loud. I wouldn't come back. That said, if you have a pack of noisy kids and need a casual place to take them out, I guess this would work. But I think it's just a bar with decent food.

this place billed itself as a nice-er type restaurant at the jersey shore... not... it was very loud. some people were wearing their beach clothes. they don't have bread - and won't even give you the pretzels they offer in place of bread until you order an entree! the food could have been good, but most dishes were over-spiced - i guess to make you notice it over the blaring music... they should keep trying , because it is a nice looking place, and the food is interesting, but...

This is one of our favorite go to spots around town for a girl's night out or luncheon. The sushi is outstanding, as are the appetizers and the infused vodka's are to die for. Our service has always been great and on our last venture here we scored the coveted patio for dinner. Highly recommend.

My husband and I dined at 709 in Pt. Pleasant Beach. Overall our meal was good but expensive which we expected. The ambience is the best. Unfortunately our hot pretzels (instead of bread) that you pay for - came hard and somewhat cool. We should of sent them back but didn't. We split a grilled cesar salad. Different but not great. Filet mignon was cooked as requested along with garlic mashed potatoes under the filet mignon and julianne veggies. The sangria was very good along with our server. I noticed since I first looked online and heard about the restaurant they have taken away many choices. No longer lamb chops, seafood selections were none except for a special of lobster tails of $54! We would go back but try bar food instead.

First time here. Don't usually like to go to the resort areas during high season, but was able to get a reservation so we decided to check it out. Pleasantly suprised with how much bigger the place was than expected. Good bar area. Food was very good. Service was just as good. Not overly pushed for table turnover which was nice seeing as how it was a Saturday night during the summer season. Will definately go back.

709 is definitely one of the best places to eat at in Pt Pleasant. I wouldn't call it a sushi restaurant but that's what we usually fill up on. If you're not into raw fish, there are plenty of other items on the menu to feed your appetite. The bar scene is always lively and if you're into just watching some sports, the TV's have the relevant game on. You'll never be disappoint with the food or drink at 709!

I went to 709 recently for dinner with my wife. Service was ok. Wasn't a busy night. We ordered soup with our entrees. Our entrees arrived without ever getting our soup. I told the server we never got our soup. He was like a deer in headlights. Didn't know what to do. He asked if we wanted our soup with our entrees. We decided to cancel the soup. I had twin lobster tails. One tail was over cooked. Not sure how you over cook 1 tail and not the other. Overall I wasn't happy with the service and the meal. I won't be going back.

Overall very good - entrees were superb, appetizer (goat cheese) was mediocre, dessert was bland (molten chocolate cake). Service was acceptable but not pleasant. We truly enjoyed our entrees (asian shrimp and crab cakes) and would likely get take-out meals next time vs. sitting in an uncomfortable setting with lackluster service. The meals also took an exceptionally long time to be served... Not sure what was going on in the kitchen since we were one of four tables in the restaurants!
