We loved cafe martaranos for many years been to all the martaranos this is the original which always was good but it is disappointing that they changed their whole mo they no longer play any music during dinner until 9:30pm they don't play up the great Italian movies and increase the volume to hear famous lines from the godfather or goodfellows that was the original ambience lost the service is abrupt and rushing.even though we know the owner who is a talented warm and welcoming man one of the dihes was so quickly prepared and missing a main ingredient crab when brought to the waiters attention he did not offer to replace or bring some crab to add to the dish and was adamant it was in and it was not

Cafe Martorano is one of our favorite places in Fort Lauderdale, whether we dine or stop in for a drink at the bar. It is always super busy so reservations are recommended and the bar is usually busy. The food is exceptional! I had the Duck Bolognese and it was outstanding! If you love to eat, don't mind a LOT of noise, and can afford a pricey dinner, then give Cafe Martorano a try!

Cafe Martorano does NOT skip a beat in any facet. From the management to the staff I honestly don't know they make it look so easy to run a 10 table restaurant which does an INSANE amount of volume with such ease and control. It was overly apparent that every single employee knew their place and how to make you feel like part of their family. What a refreshing feeling(rare to come across these days.) The place runs like a machine with the utmost respect and hospitality. The food was to die for and the unique variety was noteworthy. We had to wait 30 mins with a reservation but with their enthusiastic and personable bartenders we would have waited 2 hrs. Not to mention their exquisite drink list which seemed to be one of a kind.Be back soon!

If you're not famous & a regular of Martorano's don't waste your time. With a reservation I waited 35 minutes to be seated. I observed the hostess, who openly greeted 2 parties of gentlemen warmly & as they appeared to be regulars. Even though they arrived after me they were seated immediately. I have no issue with paying for great quality food, however, $18 for one famous Martorano meatball with a wilted soggy salad served on the same plate was a little extreme. I have been going to Martorano's for the last 9 years & the meatballs have gotten quite small. I would challenge Steve Martorano anytime to a meatball throw down & I have complete confidence that this NY girls meatballs would win hands down!

    OpenTable Diner Since 2009

The food was delicious as a matter of fact some of the best Italian I've ever had especially the meatballs! However, the dining experience was not good because the DJ came on and we couldn't even hear ourselves talk at the table. I didn't mind the music it was the volume that was disturbing. I asked the DJ if he could lower it just a little and he nodded yes however he didn't. Someone else in my party asked again and the DJ said yes however he didn't. It ruined what was a wonderful evening of good food and friends.

I grew up in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn in the 50's and 60's. There were two great Italian restaurants and one iconic pizzeria in the neighborhood. The restaurants were Carolina's and Gargiulo's and the pizzeria was Totonno's. They were my gold standards for honest, family style Italian food for my entire adult life. When I moved to Manhattan at 18 I would return to Brooklyn to eat in Coney Island. Dining at Martoranos transports me back to those days. The food is truly some of the best of it's kind I've had in NYC, LA as well as in Rome and Sienna. I was surprised that even though Steve Martorano has achieved celebrity status he was still there that night cooking and supervising the staff. You must go to this place and

My husband and I actually visited this resaurant twice during our visit to Fort Lauderdale. Our first visit we had delicious food but the service was very disappointing. We didn't receive our meals at the same time and our server was unattentive. The second time we went - we thought we would give it a try since the food was so good. Our server started off strong -- much better than our first-- but after awhile -it was obvious he had too many tables to deal with and once again-- unattentive.

I would have to say this visit was a disappointment. The waiter was not very attentive, brought the wrong appetizer and did not offer to correct it. The portions are smaller than they used to be, the meat balls and shrimp scampi were significantly reduced from prior years. The pork chop I had was overcooked, tough and dry.

caution - Very Expensive Asked waiter if we could order appetizers while we decided upon entree - he said NO, everything must be ordered at one time. We wanted to experience a few apps before dinner, there were so many interesting choices- but he insisted we had to place order. We ordered a bottle of wine and decided on a SeaBass special - our mistake for not asking the cost $48 ...OUCH! Fish and broccoli rabe...hmm, not a lot on the plate. Although the meal was good it wasn't excellent by any means. We felt rushed by our waiter to turn the table. Overall - the EGGPLANT STACK appetizer was excellent .. the expensive fish...not so much.

People either love Cafe Martorano or they don't. I fall squarely in the LOVE category. Steve Martorano has the best Italian food I have ever eaten-anywhere. The service is always spot on and you are never rushed. We had the meatball app. (Gourmet Magazine called it the best meatball in the world! The Bibzy style calamari (sweet and asiany), and the shrimp scampi bread. The meatball is delicious, the calamari is fresh, cooked perfectly, and not at all chewy, and the scampi bread is the thing I would eat if I was granted one last meal. I kid you not. We also ordered 3 entrees for 5 people. The veal with sweet and hot peppers, the chicken parm and the papparadelle noodles in cream sauce. I swear there is crack in his food-addictive!

It was extremely loud ..customers were yelling across tables .. They were tapping people on the shoulder for their spot at the bar .. The customers were abrasive and the staff were apparently custom to this type of environment. We wasted a 40 minute drive ..luckily we found another restaurant with good food and an enjoyable atmosphere.. Which we were so hoping to find at cafe martarano
