Various dining rooms have different ambience. Of the 3, the only one that merits the pricing is the main room; but New Years eve is a difficult time to make right.

We tried this restaurant for our New Years Eve dinner and it was a wonderful evening. The menu was created for this event so I cannot comment on their regular menu. This evenings food was very good and service was wonderful. Taste of what we ordered was very pleasant and temperature was great. The courses were served slowly to give you time to relax and enjoy good company and wine.

Dined here near Christmas, and was very disappointed. The menu had some crowd-pleasers: the crab cakes were excellent. However, everything else seemed to pale in comparison to most of the other meals we enjoyed in Sonoma County. Portions were too large, meats were generally cooked well, but vegetables and sides were inconsistent: either undercooked or overcooked. Desserts were overly sweet. Service was mediocre: staff was not as professional as some comparable restaurants, and disappeared for seemingly long stretches of time. I would not recommend.

We stayed at the Bodega Bay Lodge for Christmas and had dinner here. It was delicious. Service was nice. Beautiful views. We had breakfast here a couple times too, the morning views were phenomenal. Coffee was mediocre. I'd definitely recommend.

This is one of the nicest dining rooms in the County. There's a beautiful view of the wetlands and the Ocean if you are seated near a window. One of the things we value most in a restaurant is a quiet room, and The Duck Club has that. Discreet, efficient service too. Worth the drive for a special occasion. I just wish they were open for lunch.

Great meal with appropriate pacing and flawless execution. The halibut on a bed of spinch was outstanding. The only tiny flaw was that the spinach was hidden by the fish and sauce so a tiny sprig of parsley on top would have added to the correct color balance.

A nice but rather expensive dinner with our relatives at the Duck Club. The secluded entrance and the unusual design, (the lounge is on the far side of the dining room), make for an interesting first impression. There's a real log fire (despite it being spare the air day) in the lobby. Good wine list and we enjoyed the Merry Edwards sauvignon blanc with our dungeness crab appetizer. The menu's halibut was off, so we ordered the sea bass and the cod instead. These were more ordinary dishes than the price point would have suggested, but they were OK. Desserts were really good with a fine cherry and apricot crisp and a creme brûlée that really pleased. Dinner for four was just short of $300, even though we brought one bottle of wine with us.

This restaurant is superb when it comes to the quality of food, service and ambience. The only negative is the more casual Drake's is next door and the door is left open. On the evening we were there a couple of less than content (read "screaming") children were there and created a somewhat annoying distraction.

The Duck Club was excellent! From the appetizers to the salad to the entrees - the food was superb. The setting is warm and inviting with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and Bodega Bay. While the service was top notch, I did feel a bit rushed. When dining in such an establishment, it would have been nice to have been able to enjoy the setting and the food at a slower pace. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming!

We received a Christmas gift certificate from our daughter for one night at the Bodega Bay Inn. We had a similar getaway last year at the Monterey Bay Inn, so we already knew the lodge and restaurant would be great. We shared a fine bottle of wine, and dined on the crab cakes, filet mignon, and the apple crisp. Everything about the dinner was wonderful, and our server was excellent. I would highly recommend this place, but only for a special occasion. ...dinner and one night at the lodge can cost over $500.00!

We've eaten at Duck Club three times now. All three meals have been excellent. Duck, two varieties of fish, duck and andouille sausage gumbo, soups and desserts have all been exemplary. Eggs Benedict at breakfast was lovely and the Crab Benedict equally so, with an added little bit of kick in the Hollandaise. Wine list is good, wait staff professional, personable and pretty much everything a wait staff should be. There's a lovely view when it's clear and the sun is out; no view at all at night time. If I have any problem, it's with the absentee hostess, an issue we've consistently encountered. Also, lovely and relaxing as they've attempted to make the place, it does still read as a hotel dining room-- so bear that in mind.

I had made reservations asking for a table with a view. I received an e-mail days prior to the reservation and it was explained that I would have to settle on an earlier time to accommodate my chosen time of 7:15 (already my second choose). I arrived and found only two tables available, both were small and located in uncomfortable seating areas, had we had another restaurant nearby we would have dined there. The dinner was mediocre at best, an Angus filet that was tough and a halibut that was over salted. Desert was “Jeff’s mothers chocolate cake” not be my first choice in retrospect. This will not be a restaurant I will seek out during my next north coast vacation.

I wanted a special place to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the Duck Club restaurant looked like it fit the bill. It did NOT disappoint! Asked for a quiet table with a view and we were seated by the windows with a fabulous view of the bay. Our server was very attentive, but not hovering. The restaurant slowly filled up as we enjoyed our meal but it was never noisy inside. I had cod and my husband had a flat iron steak. Presentations were very, very nice and the food was delicious! We especially liked the nice "by the glass" wine list, which included some very good local selections. We had a wonderful dining experience and have vowed we WILL BE BACK!!!!

All the way from the "no-filler" fresh Crab Cakes to the "light as a pillow" pan fried Farmstead Riccota Gnocchi to the perfectly seared 2' thick Ahi Tuna and the "just caught" local Salmon, every bite was perfection! A comprehensive wine and cocktail list also included a stellar selection of non-alcoholic beverage choices ... A RARITY . The service was outstanding. The view overlooking beautiful Bodega Bay was stunning. Oh ... and did I forget to mention Jeff's Mom's Chocolate Cake? OMG.

We were staying at the Lodge and after a day of running around Sonoma County it was a welcome experience to dine at the Lodge. The food, wine list, views were all outstanding. Nice full menu and the wine list had several bargains of good wine choices, we settled on the Freeman Winery's Pinot Noir, at a very reasonable price, so we had two bottles Highly recommend this place to everyone

We stayed at the Bodega Bay Lodge for two nights and ate at the Duck Club both nights. We were very pleased with the food. A small menu, but surely something for everyone. The food was not gourment or "foodie" level, but very well done, nice presentation and the service was professional. The restaurant is white tablecloth and full china service with nice wine glasses. The restaurant is quiet and there were not children present, which was a good thing. A nice adult dinner. The reeaaallly big treat is the view. It is very reasonably priced and they have an adequate wine list. They do charge to cork your own wine, which many visitors have been to wine country and most high end restaurants allow one bottle to be corked as a courtesy.

We found the food at the Duck Club to be outstanding. The selections offered, the presentation, and quality of food were as good as you might find anywhere. Of special note was the cheese plate. Besides showcasing the delicious Sonoma County cheeses, they did not skimp on the accompaniments: nuts, fruits, honey. However, my ratings don't reflect this because of the service. From being seated to entree was in excess of an hour. We found this to be true also for breakfast, so it seems to be a kitchen problem, as the servers tried hard to please.

Took my husband there for a birthday dinner. We got water right away but waited for someone to greet/ bring bread/ ask about any menu questions. Slow. Ordered 6 Rockerfeller oysters which were very disappointing as they forgot the Rockerfeller! Our empty oyster platter was not removed from our table for about 10 minutes. We split the Gnocchi and finally received 2 bowls with 4 Gnocchi in each bowl with some mushrooms. Very small portions. At $19, that makes each Gnocchi about $2.50 each! Way over priced. More waiting. The Asian salmon was fabulous. My husband ate a loaf of bread to fill up.They did bring a complimentary slice of cake with a candle.Bottom line: Very pricy restaurant for a romantic setting,a great view and delicious salmon.

The food and wait service were excellent--but,while we booked three weeks in advance, we were not given preference to a window seat even though at that time and throughout the evening we saw empty seats--in fact ample empty seats other than window seat. The young lady greeter could not satisfactorily explain the priority window seating reservation policy. Then when we asked if we could eat early we were told no. The evening manager was absolutely no help and never came to the aid of the greeter to explain any policy to us. We went to the lounge and ate there. When we left, there were still many seats available. We spent well over two hundred dollars. They knew it was my wife's birthday. Won't be burned twice--no matter how good the food.
