In our experience main dishes in Turkish (and Greek) cuisine generally struggle to match the delights of the opening act, the mezze. Main dishes were excellent but could not compete with the mezze. Next time, and we hope that there will be a next time, we would mix a few kebabs in with a larger order of mezze and skip the individual main courses.
It was a delight to find our favourite Turkish wines. And what we chose was very good. Prices, per glass and per bottle, were good value.
