Diner Reviews
  • "The food was very good, but the service took a lot away from our dining experience. We had two waiters and both were somewhat "arrogant". The other waiters appeared to be more customer oriented. I would hesitate to recommend based on the service we received."

  • "Our first experience here was wonderful. The service was truly outstanding. The cajun fried oyster salad, blackened shrimp risotto and the bread pudding creme brûlée are not to be missed. The extensive menu makes deciding what to order difficult. Would go back again even with all the other choices in New Orleans."

  • "The Thursday lunch specials, beef daube and flounder, were an excellent way to connect with great dishes from restaurants in the past. The remoulade sauce for the shrimp and the presentation for the flounder did not overpower the taste of the seafood. The daube was exceptionally tender and very tasty."

  • "Pretentious. Just give me well prepared food. Not ridiculous red boxes with sweets in them. Lots of wasted movements. Get real!!"

  • "The food, the setting, the décor were all stunning. On top of that the wait service's recommendations were spot on. We tried several top rated restaurants during our 5 day stay and this one was by all means our favorite. Incidentally there are 3 rooms, each with its own distinctive character. But the rooms are quite open to one another so you view the entire restaurant if you are facing one of the other rooms. Take a look at some photos and see which room fits your style the best."

  • "From apps to dessert one of the top 5 meals I have ever eaten."

  • "they have nothing on the menu except eggs and meats--not so veggie friendly. Server seemed very confused by the term "vegetarian." Slow."
    Dined on 4/6/2014
  • "The food was prepared well and the service was very cheerful and helpful from two of our three servers."

  • "I have been visiting New OrleNs a couple of times a year for at least 47 years. I am from Texas and my husband is from northern La. I always try the new in spots if the reputation is good food. This restaurant right now is my number 1 choice for all the right reasons. Tried to go back the following night but they were fully booked. Every aspect of this establishment is superb."

  • "This restaurant is a great addition to the greatest food city in America. Each bite was better than the last."
    Dined on 4/4/2014
  • "Adventurous sounding menu but remarkably bland for supposed creole, Cajun offerings. Sweetbreads cried out for a lemony or other acidic counterpoint. Flounder filet was dry and its oyster artichoke sauce no where near warren LeRuths' version. Dessert ok. Best dish the jambon iberico but of course all the chef did here was slice the meat. Very expensive."

  • "Reservation was for 8:45, was seated at 9:20. I can understand why they were running late. Everyone before us wanted to linger a little bit longer. Once seated, everything was perfection. During our vacation we tried every top rated restaurant in the city. If we had been seated close to our reservation time, Restaurant R'evolution would have been our number one dining experience."

  • "We went to R'evolution as our first date post baby and they did not dissapoint. The house made cocktails were so yummy. I recommend the Streetcar. The appetizers were a fun take on Louisiana traditional faire. For dinner they were able to make some special modifications to the menu for me (no dairy) and they were just so dang helpful and pleasant about it. They even made an alternative sauce for my vegetables (many people forget butter=dairy). For dessert they bring this jewelry box filled with small treats from the kitchen. It was such fun to open the drawers and see what little candy colored treat would be next. They hit it out of the park with the food - but I'll never forget how wonderful the service was for our special night."

  • "I went recently on the last night of my trip to NOLA with my mom and would go again in a heartbeat! The service was fantastic and our multiple servers were very accomodating of my mom's dairy allergy. For appetizers, we ordered the smoked oysters and crab beignets, both were amazing and some of the highlights of the meal. For the main courses, my mom ordered the bouillabaise and I ordered the lamb shank. Both were delicious but were not really the stars of the meal. For dessert, we decided to wait 20 minutes for the chocolate souffle, and boy are we glad we did, it was absolute heaven! All in all, the absolute best restaurant experience in New Orleans if you're willing to splurge a bit. You must go to this restaurant!"

  • "We had a great table near the meat cooler in the back corner for a group of 8. The ambiance and decor is fantastic. The drinks and food were among the best I have ever had. The crab beignets were amazing as was the meat sampler. We also had the Iberico ham - amazing! We all loved our meals - duck, scallops, gnocchi. You cannot go wrong. Truly a remarkable dining experience."

  • "Been a frequent traveler to New Orleans for a decade. Found Revolution to be outstanding and a nice addition to the "top" restaurants in the city"

  • "The staff who assisted us were very attentive and patient. The food was excellent and the menu selections allowed us to try some foods that we always wanted to try but never had he opportunity to. (Roasted bone marrow and Iberico ham) We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our experience."

  • "Outstanding service and food. Best turtle soup I have had since the Caribbean Room was in its prime. Expensive, but for a special celebration it was money well spent."
    Dined on 3/26/2014
  • "Great bar and restaurant ambiance, and great service; Very good food and loved sitting in the dining adjacent to the kitchen. Wine list was extensive and very expensive and with few choices moderate in price and that were good; Expensive dining experience but very good; Will return for special events and occasions, but not on a routine basis."

  • "Showed up with 4 Tulane students in tow, managed to luck into the wine room table, wine choices were amazing for the food, had a couple of French Burgundies, 4 courses, and we knew the staff was clued in when they offered to turn the sweet 16 NCAA game on the TV in the wine room. Great warm and interactive service, didn't look askance at having 4 college guys plus parents, treated us very well. Food was off the charts good through every course. Best meal in this city ever."

  • "Hands down best food in New Orleans, LA. I went back the very next night!"

  • "The restaurant is beautifully decorated and a nice oasis right off the noise of Bourbon street. Our waiter steered us towards to delicious entrees. My husband had the Hoisin Glazed Hake which he enjoyed. Hake is a local fish similar to a Cod. I ordered the Triptych of Quail, which is quail prepared three ways. The dish was very good & I especially like the southern-fried version which came with a mini biscuit. To complete our meal we ordered a side dish of artichoke-mirliton au gratin and brick oven brussels sprouts with bacon. The au gratin was to die for, very rich and creamy. We past on ordering dessert but we're still treated to some small treats from the pastry chef."

  • "Was a great dining experience. Our head waiter, Matt, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and guided us through a unique and delicious dinner."

  • "New Orleans for the weekend, celebrating the Wife's birthday. She insisted that we return to the Revolution. Great decision. First off, the service is great. She started with the excellent meaty turtle soup. She loved it. I started with the crab beignets. Prepared four ways. So creamy that they melt in your mouth. We both had great house salads. Our entrees were the quail prepared three ways. I loved the fried the best and she loved the stuffed one the best. All were good. With the addition of a couple slices of cake and cups of coffee,we ended another wonderful meal. If you find yourself in the Big Easy, it is a must try."

  • "This is truly one of the best restaurants we've dined at. The service (Jimmy & Team) were unbelievable. They made us feel at home, even though we had many questions on the fabulous menu, we never felt uncomfortable. Watching the wait staff was like watching a finely tuned orchestra. I've dined at many 4 & 5 star restaurants, but this is the first time that I ever asked where to find the rest room and got a personal escort all the way to the door. The food is indescribably good and the menu has something for everyone. Try the venison appetizer--it's amazing! If you want an elegant night out, this is the place."

  • "We ate at the Sunday Jazz Brunch. The food and service was excellent. The strolling jazz band was very good and non-intrusive. The service was friendly and attentive. Food choices were very different from typical brunch menus. Will definitely go back."

  • "It was good, but nothing spectacular. Service was amazing. I would not spend the money with so many other places to go."
    Dined on 12/26/2013
  • "This was our third time to eat at R'evolution and the third time we left feeling that we had the perfect dining experience..With this continuity of fantastic food, splendid service, and awesome atmosphere, needless to say, we are already looking forward to our next visit. Five star in every category including the extensive wine list."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "We arrived early and waited an additional 20 minutes after our reservation. The waitstaff was robotic, food was well presented but not spectaclar, and the wines by the glass selection was sparse. We will stick to the traditional New Orleans restaurants. We had a blast at Gallatoire's the previous night."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "I dine out quite often and try different restaurants often. This restaurant by far had the best presentation and professional service. I would have preferred a table in the dimmer, more quiet area of the restaurant, but that is just my preference. Food was exceptional as well."
    Dined on 3/20/2014
  • "The food is as fantastic as the service--which is impeccable."

  • "They didn't wait for me to come back from the restroom to give my boyfriend his birthday dessert. Other than that, everything was great! The food was great. Troy (our waiter was memorable for good reasons). Must go if your in NOLA."

  • "Beautiful restaurant, good service, great little plates and salads, caviar superior and presented nicely, superb wine list at all price levels with many unusual finds, but we should have stopped before the entrees---fish over cooked and just not near the quality of the rest of the meal. Meats and steaks probably much better, but would avoid fish entrees. No reason to return with other excellent restaurants in NO but we're we to, we'd have caviar and champagne and maybe salad and salami plate."
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "It's an experience for the senses - from seeing the kitchen (they have die seats right in front of the kitchen if that appeals to you), to imagining how good the cheeses in the cheese cart must be, to savoring the delectable foods - it's all wonderful without being too much. This is a must-go for any trip through New Orleans."
    Dined on 3/20/2014
  • "Food is very good, the wine list looked great. Very expensive. Brunch for 5 with 1 round of drinks over $550.00."

  • "So glad to have found this restaurant right across the street from our hotel, Hotel Mazarin. Having eaten at several New Orleans restaurants for a few days, found this one to be our favorite of the bunch. The food was superb! We loved the Crab Beignets! Our favorite dish in all of New Orleans! Everything was delicious, service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere beautiful! We wish this restaurant was in our town."
