Serving Lunch, Dinner and Sunday Brunch, Restaurant R’evolution is the first joint venture of award-winning chefs John Folse and Rick Tramonto, offering modern,imaginative reinterpretations of classic Cajun and Creole cuisine. Steeped in the diverse historic and cultural influences of Louisiana, the menu features not only the chefs’ interpretations of New Orleans classics such as gumbo, po’ boys, and beignets, but also new creations highlighting ingredients from what Chef Folse refers to as “the swamp floor pantry.” Tableside service components play an important role in the dining experience, promoting guest engagement about the history and evolution of the food they are enjoying.Soups such as Creole Louisiana Snapping Turtle Soup and Death by Gumbo play on unusual presentations of these traditional dishes that date back centuries.   • "The service was so confusing and we were quite put off by it. Our "main" waiter was not friendly or talkative at all and all he did was hand us napkins and menus at the beginning and take our order. He did not make us feel welcome but we could overhear him at other tables talking and spending more time with the other customers. Then another lady seemed to take over and she was a little better and seemed to pull it together toward the end of meal. We were practically through our main course before we were asked how it was. The food however did make up for the lack of service!"

  • "Late decision to book based on a visiting chef recommendation. Best decision made of our multiple dining experiences in NOLA. My dining partner and I eat to experience not to stuff and there were almost too many menu choices. From charred oysters to jamon through pasta course and then amazing mains there was never a misstep. My short rib was perfection and the sides of greens, truffle mashed potatoes and a rice were wonderful additions. Lovely desserts, great wine choices, guided perfectly by staff, particularly Sam. Beautiful room, well spaced tables, cozy nooks, great cocktails...all come with a price but worth the superb dining experience. I travel to eat, places come and go on my list, but this is a keeper."

  • "The food, the setting, the décor were all stunning. On top of that the wait service's recommendations were spot on. We tried several top rated restaurants during our 5 day stay and this one was by all means our favorite. Incidentally there are 3 rooms, each with its own distinctive character. But the rooms are quite open to one another so you view the entire restaurant if you are facing one of the other rooms. Take a look at some photos and see which room fits your style the best."

  • "Adventurous sounding menu but remarkably bland for supposed creole, Cajun offerings. Sweetbreads cried out for a lemony or other acidic counterpoint. Flounder filet was dry and its oyster artichoke sauce no where near warren LeRuths' version. Dessert ok. Best dish the jambon iberico but of course all the chef did here was slice the meat. Very expensive."

  • "Reservation was for 8:45, was seated at 9:20. I can understand why they were running late. Everyone before us wanted to linger a little bit longer. Once seated, everything was perfection. During our vacation we tried every top rated restaurant in the city. If we had been seated close to our reservation time, Restaurant R'evolution would have been our number one dining experience."

  • "We went to R'evolution as our first date post baby and they did not dissapoint. The house made cocktails were so yummy. I recommend the Streetcar. The appetizers were a fun take on Louisiana traditional faire. For dinner they were able to make some special modifications to the menu for me (no dairy) and they were just so dang helpful and pleasant about it. They even made an alternative sauce for my vegetables (many people forget butter=dairy). For dessert they bring this jewelry box filled with small treats from the kitchen. It was such fun to open the drawers and see what little candy colored treat would be next. They hit it out of the park with the food - but I'll never forget how wonderful the service was for our special night."

  • "I went recently on the last night of my trip to NOLA with my mom and would go again in a heartbeat! The service was fantastic and our multiple servers were very accomodating of my mom's dairy allergy. For appetizers, we ordered the smoked oysters and crab beignets, both were amazing and some of the highlights of the meal. For the main courses, my mom ordered the bouillabaise and I ordered the lamb shank. Both were delicious but were not really the stars of the meal. For dessert, we decided to wait 20 minutes for the chocolate souffle, and boy are we glad we did, it was absolute heaven! All in all, the absolute best restaurant experience in New Orleans if you're willing to splurge a bit. You must go to this restaurant!"

  • "Showed up with 4 Tulane students in tow, managed to luck into the wine room table, wine choices were amazing for the food, had a couple of French Burgundies, 4 courses, and we knew the staff was clued in when they offered to turn the sweet 16 NCAA game on the TV in the wine room. Great warm and interactive service, didn't look askance at having 4 college guys plus parents, treated us very well. Food was off the charts good through every course. Best meal in this city ever."

  • "The restaurant is beautifully decorated and a nice oasis right off the noise of Bourbon street. Our waiter steered us towards to delicious entrees. My husband had the Hoisin Glazed Hake which he enjoyed. Hake is a local fish similar to a Cod. I ordered the Triptych of Quail, which is quail prepared three ways. The dish was very good & I especially like the southern-fried version which came with a mini biscuit. To complete our meal we ordered a side dish of artichoke-mirliton au gratin and brick oven brussels sprouts with bacon. The au gratin was to die for, very rich and creamy. We past on ordering dessert but we're still treated to some small treats from the pastry chef."

  • "New Orleans for the weekend, celebrating the Wife's birthday. She insisted that we return to the Revolution. Great decision. First off, the service is great. She started with the excellent meaty turtle soup. She loved it. I started with the crab beignets. Prepared four ways. So creamy that they melt in your mouth. We both had great house salads. Our entrees were the quail prepared three ways. I loved the fried the best and she loved the stuffed one the best. All were good. With the addition of a couple slices of cake and cups of coffee,we ended another wonderful meal. If you find yourself in the Big Easy, it is a must try."

  • "This is truly one of the best restaurants we've dined at. The service (Jimmy & Team) were unbelievable. They made us feel at home, even though we had many questions on the fabulous menu, we never felt uncomfortable. Watching the wait staff was like watching a finely tuned orchestra. I've dined at many 4 & 5 star restaurants, but this is the first time that I ever asked where to find the rest room and got a personal escort all the way to the door. The food is indescribably good and the menu has something for everyone. Try the venison appetizer--it's amazing! If you want an elegant night out, this is the place."

The waitstaff was robotic, food was well presented but not spectaclar, and the wines by the glass selection was sparse. We will stick to the traditional New Orleans restaurants. We had a blast at Gallatoire's the previous night."
