Restaurant OrsayGreat as alwaysIt's awesome - they're 4 for 4 in great food and dining experiences - highly recommend5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother exceptional diningAnother exceptional dining experience at Orsay in all respects.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Sunday Mothers Day BrunchHad a great server, excellent cocktails (made by a real professional) and awesome food. The chicken fried Berkshire pork chop is ridiculous along side the fingerling and arugula salad with a tarragon vinaigrette. This has become one of my favorite spots in the city and worth a drive from the beaches.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchI brought my mom, dad and stepmother to Orsay for Mother's Day Brunch and it was their first time experiencing this gem. The entire event was enjoyed by all with comments that they would definitely return maybe for dinner next time. As usual, the staff was excellent and the menu items were awesome for brunch! I couldn't have asked for a better first time experience with my parents.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a great place to celebrateThis is a great place to celebrate Mother's Day. My family had a fantastic time and the food was excellent. I can count on Orsay to deliver a great meal every time.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and serviceMy family and I went to Orsay the night before Mother's Day and had a fabulous meal. My husband ordered two excellent bottles of wine from their outstanding wine list. The server had the sommelier help her to open them and they were perfect! The seafood platter appetizer was huge and excellent. We had an assortment of entrees and everyones favorite was the pork chop. It was cooked perfectly! The desserts were amazing. My daughters got the chocolate molten cake and said it was the best that they had ever had. We had the bread pudding and several of their ice creams and all were fantastic! The service was prompt, professional yet friendly! We had an awesome experience!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPeerlessJacksonville has a number of fine restaurants, but Orsay is head and shoulders above the rest. It's our favorite restaurant in the Jacksonville area.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great visitIn a neighborhood with as many dining choices as Avondale, Orsay always stands out as that someplace special. No reason to leave the neighborhood to spend special time at a special place. The foods great, and their house special cocktails are always a treat. The wine list is solid, and the staff know their business. Try and save some room for dessert as there are a few standouts.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second trip toThis was our second trip to this restaraunt and it was superb. Once we arrived we were seated I the busy bar area next to the lounge. It was not really the atmosphere we were looking for on this outing. The host simply relocated us to a quiet table in the back. Our server david recommended awesome dishes from start to finish as well as great wine. We love this place!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great and ourThe food was great and our server was fantastic. Other staff, however, weren't. One man found several opportunities to come by our table and make comments about the restaurant closing up, such as: "Would you like any coffee before we pour it out? We're closing soon." That was just one of several. Very embarrassing because I had bragged about the place to my out-of-town guest and this is her first experience. We weren't at the restaurant more than an hour and a half. AND, we had a reservation. My suggestion is not to accept reservations 30 minutes before closing. This is supposed to be a more upscale restaurant where people can take their time enjoying their meals and conversation. With as much I paid for meals and drinks, I expect more.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our anniversary dinnerThis was our anniversary dinner - they gave us a free dessert to share. Our waiter was terrific. He was very personable and knowledgeable. He was very honest about menu items and helped make our first visit special. The food was excellent including the Kingfish and Escargot.
The only complaint was the seating, which does not provide much privacy between tables and is distracting when people arrive and depart from tables. It also made it difficult to hear the wait staff at times.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to celebrate our oneWe went to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. We were really anticipating our first visit to Orsay. We've been to all of the really good restaurants from Orange Park to the Beaches and from Ponte Vedra to St. Augustine and this was the best. A lot of great detail in every aspect from food and sauces to wine service. Everyone who worked there had been trained properly in fine dining. The timing of the courses to the presentation of the wines was impeccable!! We will return before our next anniversary!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great time at thisWe had a great time at this local restaurant. The food was prepared well (all beef items were slightly salty but still very edible)and the recommendations were spot on. I would suggest dining here when in Jax!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent restaurant, foodExcellent restaurant, food and service. This is my new favorite place.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOrsay has consistently providedOrsay has consistently provided us with one of the finest dining experiences in Jacksonville.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday BrunchOrsay continues to be the best dining experience in Jacksonville. Our impromptu casual decision to try their Sunday brunch turned into a fine dining experience. The little things like the Bloody Mary garnishes and the deviled eggs make a big difference when differentiating between good and great. Tony also added the professionalism we have come to expect from the staff.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWow! Went for my birthdayWow! Went for my birthday and I must say, after years of traveling and having our favorite restaurants, this one ranks in the top! The roasted oysters were absolutely delicious. Their lamb and my husband's bouillabaise was out of this world! The flavors popped. Chris our waiter helped us with wine choice which could not have been better. Creme Brulee, YUM. What a great birthday dinner and more to come at this restaurant!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was our 15th wedding anniversaryIt was our 15th wedding anniversary. We'd wanted to visit this restaurant for quite some time. Our waitress, Danielle, was awesome. Very informative, and kind. The food was wonderful, especially the butternut squash soup. We will definitely be returning.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOrsay is always a great diningOrsay is always a great dining experience with a fun selection of cocktails and wine, good food, lively atmosphere and attentive service! Tonight we started with the roasted oysters which were exceptional and enjoyed the sea bass special and scallops as entrees. Jarvis, our waiter, had perfect recommendations and pairings to make this Orsay experience one of the best; thanks!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA great find in JacksonvilleIn Jacksonville for business, my colleagues and I found Orsay with Google. The food was quite good, the service impeccable, and the wine list extensive. The beers on tap were a good variety of styles, clearly reflecting the goal of finding perfect examples of each. One of the chefs/owners passed by during our meal to ensure our satisfaction, and we had no complaints.
Desert was incredible as well. Try the pear-jalepeno sorbet if you have a chance!
Most of our local associates from the Jacksonville office had not heard of Orsay. One friend, a foodie, had heard positive reviews of it, but had not yet gone. We highly recommended it.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOur group visited for theOur group visited for the first time on Easter. Clean, comfortable seating, service excellent and the food was incredible.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMrare steak tartareGreat meal. Love the steak tartare. The seats against the wall in the back dinning room are very uncomortable for anyone over 5'6"3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOrsay Jax - Brunch is Topshelf !I've dined at Orsay many times, about 8 times in the last year. I've only been there for Sunday Brunch, and this recent visit for Easter Sunday Brunch was no different. I especially enjoy the choice of raw oysters on the half shell which can be ordered individually with selections from four to five seperate types/locations for oysters. I had my usual four oysters as an app and the Duck Confit Hash. My wife had the Eggs A La Orsay and daughter Shrimp and Grits - all was outstanding as usual, including the service.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was such a pleasure andIt was such a pleasure and dining experience even with brunch with a toddler.the French toast is a must on the brunch.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent FoodEasily one of the best restaurants in Jacksonville. Knowledgeable staff than are both pleasant and timely with service. Lounge area is a little loud so be sure to ask for a table in a quieter area.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMSplendid food, splendid service.Splendid food, splendid service. Orsay just gets better and better. In my opinion it's the finest restaurant in Jacksonville.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOrsay has been one of ourOrsay has been one of our favorite dining spots since it opened. It rarely disappoints. Saturday night we took out-of-town guests who have eaten in fine restaurants around the world, and they raved about it. They especially liked the wine list and that night's special of duck with black truffles. We also appreciated being seated at a relatively quiet table, as I had requested. And we appreciated our server's being helpful but not intrusive.
One change I would request of the chef is that he use only grass fed, organic beef. I would like to try the boeuf Bourguignon and filet mignon, but since they are not grass fed, I have to order the hamburger when I'm in the mood for beef.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent, as usual. The duckExcellent, as usual. The duck confit risotto was amazing! They do need to work on their Caesar salad though. It was tough and too coarsly chopped!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMSpectacular Food This Time! Our theater party dined at Orsay as a special treat for my 13 year old granddaughter who also attended the symphony. This time, our food was absolutely spectacular. I had a pork shank that was just divine. My granddaughter's chicken and stuffing dish was heavenly. The fish with asparagus that another diner enjoyed was beautiful and wonderfully tasty. The PEI mussels were also just wonderful. The snail appetizer was superb. I can't say enough about how good the food was. Dessert . The service was also3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat as always - would goGreat as always - would go every weekend if I could afford it3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMMy New FavoriteOn our previous visit to Orsay a neighborhood power failure limited what we could order from the menu and the dining experience was disappointing. This visit was not in the least disappointing! Our server Jarvis took care of us from beginning to end. He was friendly, competent, efficient, and not the least intrusive. My guest's trout and my cassoulet were both perfectly prepared and presented. Our choice of a Côtes du Rhône red wine by the glass was exactly what we wanted. Our server checked on us through the meal and brought the dessert menu at the right time. Dessert was quite good and together with coffee ended the meal on the right note. Conversation had to be loud to overcome the loud music, the only negative to the evening.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMRestaurant Orsay was a welcomeRestaurant Orsay was a welcome find in jax..recommended by a previous employee we were pleasantly surprised with pretty much everything...from beginning to end the dining experience was incredibly enjoyable. Service was superb, food was like reviews said,
full of flavor, tenderness and creativity. Despite getting appetizers, salad, and entrees, we had to try the mac/cheese; awesome!! The dining area(s) reminded me of
cafe's in france and the menu definitely had a frence flair, although a good mix of
american varietals could be found. Definitely a do-over....3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOrsay should be recognizedOrsay should be recognized as being one of Jacksonville's best restaurants. Orsay's menu offers an assortment of ecliptic items that any palate would enjoy. Great food, great service, moderate price and a great restaurant to dine at.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service. ItGreat food and service. It was a full house and we sat next to a group of 18. it was too noisy to talk and We had a tiny table. Unfortunately, we were celebrating our anniversary, so that particular venue wasn't the best place to have a romantic dinner. We'll definitely come back, but maybe during the week and not a Saturday night.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a New York Soho-ishThis is a New York Soho-ish boutiquey restaurant. A real gem in Jacksonville, FL. It reminded me of being in a fine New York establishment. This is my new LOVE. The food quality and attention to detail is unmatched in Jacksonville.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMVisited with my family forVisited with my family for my son's birthday. First visit and was very impressed. Wonderful selection, fantastic service and most of all great food which means we will certainly be back soon.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the Lamb!Everything I've ordered at Orsay has been delicious, but none more than the lamb ragout with pappardelle. It's now my new favorite. My husband had the fish of the day and it was brilliant. Massive wine list and decadent desserts.2/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
