  • "This restaurant is amazing! Love the ambience and the food was fantastic! I definitely recommend the truffle Mac and cheese!"

  • "This is a great place - nice atmosphere, wonderful food, and amazing service. It is a must do when in Jacksonville!"

  • "Orsay is at the forefront of the local food scene. Do you deserve to eat well? This place has it all. Delicious pan roasted fish, oysters, cheese, and don't forget the creative cocktails. If you want to impress someone new or old, Orsay is the place to be."

  • "Our waitress did not arrive for more than 10 minutes after we were seated and then admitted that she just forgot about us. Apologized but nothing else. She was less than enthusiastic which is unusual for Orsay. The food was good, even though my appetizers of roasted oysters looked and tasted like they spent some time under a heat lamp. Overall, not a great night. We expect better from them."

  • "It really was a great restaurant. It has a smaller dining room, which creates an intimate experience (if done correctly...and it was). The food was amazing and well priced. The server was very knowledgeable and attentive. The overall experience was fantastic and we will be headed back soon."

  • "I took two friends here as a thank you for their hospitality and to celebrate Bastille Day, it being a French restaurant. There was no celebration; in fact, they didn't know about it! The food was excellent, our wine choice was satisfying, and the service was quite good. We enjoyed our time there and were impressed with the quality of the food, even if the ambience was somewhat austere. I won't be returning as I live in Albuquerque, NM, but I think they might re-visit the experience"

  • "Service and Food were excellent! Favorite Restaurant in Jacksonville."

  • "We entertained two dear friends who were about to re-locate to far-off Colorado. This was their first experience of, "Orsay" & they were, "knocked out"! ( As were we ...again!) Between us we investigated as many different dishes as possible & not a little wine. Across the board, the standard was uniformly splendid & the service courteous, efficient & sensible. I would not presume to recommend particular dishes ...tastes & preferences vary so widely but I do not think anyone could be disappointed with their selection. If you truly wish to embrace all that, "Orsay" has to offer, do as we did ...arrange for someone to take you & drive you home!"

  • "We live in the beaches area-so making the 45-minute drive into town is an investment. Restaurant Orsay shined on Saturday night and was very much worth the drive. We started with a cheese plate and some pate. Delicious! I then had the Orsay salad-which was delightful. All 4 of us had different entrees-including the chicken, trout and pork chop and all were excellent. We had a very good French Chablis -which complimented the food very well. Great service and a memorable evening."

  • "I was expecting to be blown away because of the great reviews and constantly hearing it was the best restaurant in Jacksonville. I was sadly disappointed. We came in for a romantic dinner to celebrate two years of dating. They sat us at a table right next to the hostess stand and the couch. We were looking over their shoulder while they ate. Thankfully the hostess could tell we looked disappointed and asked if we would like to move to the back dining room. MUCH better. The cocktails, wine, French Onion soup and desserts were wonderful, but we were very disappointed with the entrees. The steak was very over cooked and chewy in the steak frites and the beef stroganoff was just ok. I am glad I tried it once, but don't plan to return."

  • "Orsay is a world class restaurant.....very knowledgable waiter....could have ordered 10 different things"

  • "I really enjoyed my dinner here a few nights ago and the surreal elements of minimalist dining came to life in a mix of nouvelle and classic French dishes. I was impressed with the wine list and tasted some of the great combinations at the direction of our superb server. I simply look forward to returning in the future to trying more of the menu."

  • "Orsay is never disappointing. Megan, our server, was terrific. Our food was perfect. They had no problems with us sharing the salad and dessert and were quite gracious throughout the meal. Always a win!"

  • "Every dish, every bite was excellent. We had a hard time deciding what to order because so many things appealed to us. Apparently, we chose wisely, but we'll have to come back to try even more of their dishes because we left absolutely stuffed. We hardly left a bite on any plate, scraping up the last goodness from each. Even the mixed drinks were excellent. We work in kitchens and rarely find a meal we like so much, but Orsay was recommended to us by two former coworkers at Bern's in Tampa and they were absolutely right. Since we recently moved to the Gainesville area from Tampa, we wanted to ensure we found the best place to spend our anniversary and drove 1.5 hours to get there. It was worth it."

  • "This restaurant is close to home in my neighborhood, as are several others. my wife and I enjoy apps at the bar often and dine there fairly often as well. Always good entree choice some better than others. I would suggest order local fish. Staff always attentive and friendly."

  • "We had a wonderful time...Our Server, James, was purrrfect! He made us laugh, took great care of my husband, son and me; best of all....he put up with US! AND, he and the manager provided us with a beautiful free dessert because my husband's burger was over cooked (who orders a burger at such a nice place, anyway? hahahaha!). The food was wonderful...I always attempt to order something I can't easily make myself, this time was no exception. Even my husband ending up eating most of his burger because the meat was tasty!"

  • "Always a great experience, we are hooked on the incredible cheese selections, the country pate and the escargo. We had the steak frites as an entree and that was great too. The hangar steak is melts in your mouth, only negative was th frites were a little too salty. Danielle was our server and she was outstanding. Attentive, friendly and knowledgable."

  • "Orsay has changed since its owners opened adventuresome Black Sheep in Five Points. The food is still excellent, although with so much bacon, I sometimes wonder if it's channeling Cracker Barrel. Kudos to the restaurant for supporting local sustainable farms. Mainly, we have been pleasantly surprised by the drop in decibel level, even on a Friday night. The one flaw was the long wait for virtually every course. The restaurant wasn't full, so there really was no good reason to wait 10 minutes for wine and 15 minutes between appetizers and entrees. Still, the server was pleasant and unobtrusive, and we could converse at a normal conversational level. Polite Southern manners are a plus and more Northern efficiency would be appreciated."

  • "This place is firing on all cylinders. Food was fresh and inspired. The wait staff were as good as any I have encountered including at the Ritz, Breakers, W and Four Seasons. Wine menu was well representative of moderately priced excellent wines from most regions. This was our last stop after Jekyll Island, St. Simons Island and St. Augustine and this was by far the best dining experience of all and Lord knows we tried to find the best."

  • "We chose this restaurant based on open table while we vacationing on Amelia island. We enjoyed our evening, but everything was just a little off. Our waiter was nice and friendly, but seemed distracted. For example, he was so absent that we had to refill our own wine glasses. The risotto was way too salty. The fish was swimming in butter but still bland. The gelee on the dessert was way too firm. Parking was a bear. Still, it was a pleasant evening."

  • "This was the second time my husband and I ate at Orsay. The escargot appetizer was the best I've ever had, with a good amount of mushroom slices too. The trout was fantastic too -- unusual preparation that was very juicy. I can't remember what my husband had because I was so immersed in devouring my meal. As with the first visit, I wish the décor was the same level as the food. Many tables were open, which I bet is because the ambiance is "shabby" and the offices next to the restaurant are all boarded up -- neighborhood is a little scary but we've had no problem parking very close to the restaurant. And we haven't seen anyone milling about who looks threatening."

  • "Went to Orsay for date night with my wife. We started in the vibrant bar and were entertained by the Mixologist behind the bar. He was intense while making various cocktails and was happy to field questions as he worked. I will be back just to enjoy his show and to try and get "The French Mistake" recipe! Next, we were seated in the Dining Room and immediately greeted by our server, Bryan. He was thoroughly educated about the food he was offering and did a great job answering questions and making suggestions for our meal. He was polished, but not snooty. In fact, Bryan added to our evening. The food was delicious and Chef nailed everything that was served. How does he get the Snapper skin to do that? Thanks to everyone at Orsay!"

  • "Orsay was a superb choice! Everything about our experience was amazing. The service, food, atmosphere, everything was beyond anything that we expected. Orsay exceeded our expectations! They use the absolute best ingriedents and really respect the romance and art of fine dinning!"

  • "Great service. Awesome food. Great cocktails. Best filet I've ever had. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood. A little noisy so probably not the best spot for a quiet romantic evening but the atmosphere was nice and the service was excellent!"

  • "The food is amazingly delicious. This was our second time dining at Orsay, and it was just wonderful. Our waiter was fantastic, knowledgable, and friendly. He made wonderful recommendations and was on top of everything. This time we sat in the bar area which was pretty fun and more lively then the more formal side we sat on the previous time. 5 out of 5 here. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Our first experience at Orsay was so pleasant, we have talked about it for days. They have everything right! Atmosphere offering several dining choices along with exceptional service and impressive food made my night memorable. We tried several dishes and from the Hanger steak to the beef stroganoff, we were not disappointed. Our waitress never left us needing anything! We had a group of four foodies that were all super fans of the menu selection from appetizers to deserts and we plan in coming back again for dinner and look forward to having lunch here as well."

  • "The food was delicious, including the steak frites, oysters, and lamb. The oysters were amazing as I was craving them, they met and exceeded my expectations. The only drawback was the cost of the food; however, this service was excellent and the design of the restaurant was warm and inviting. "
