  • "We recently had dinner there, and enjoyed it thoroughly. Our food was very good, the service was excellent, and the ambiance/setting was charming and classy while remaining warm and inviting. I would definitely recommend. Our waiter did a good job explaining menu items and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about the food. We had one part of one entree which was slightly over cooked, which is why I held off on giving 4 stars, but overall, the food was excellent. Fun place!!"

  • "I'm used to Michael's in the design district. This was a far cry from the original. The food was fine, but the service was horrible. They couldn't get anything right. It was way too dark as well. This could be a cute, romantic place...COULD! But it isn't. I will continue to go to the design district."

  • "We had planned to eat in the "dining room" but with a 3 piece band playing quite loudly it would have been impossible to have a conversation so we opted to dine on the outdoor terrace. The ambiance outdoors on the terrace was quite lovely. One of us had Hendricks gin on the rocks at $17.00 and the other had Ketel One vodka on the rocks for $16.00. These are outrageous prices for very skimpy drinks! The wine list was also very pricey and limited. Our whole snapper for two persons was overcooked. The brussels sprouts were brunt to a crisp. And at these prices they could at least have put a place mat on the outdoor wooden table. Michael Schwartz can certainly do better than this!!"

  • "Restaurant Michael Schwartz was THE perfect spot for our group of seven girls. It is an AMAZING value. Upon arrival, we were not satisfied with our table location but the hostesses were very accommodating. The atmosphere is romantic but still the glamorous South Beach I love. Prices are extremely moderate, which was perfect for our crowd of mid-20s working girls. Our food was delicious, perfectly prepared and satisfied each individual. Cocktails are fabulous. Food highlights: roasted peppers, crab cakes, octopus, shrimp toast, and rabbit. Rarely does a restaurant deliver a meal to a large group without a glitch."

  • "Magical setting amongst the trees let rung with lights. Tables with comfy sofas intertwine.the trees creating an intimate setting. The food was fantastic! The ceviche was bright and flavorful, and my grilled octopus was incredibly tender and so very delicious! And save room for dessert!!! The lemon meringue bread pudding was outstanding! If you are a chocolate fan, go for the salted chocolate caramel mousse! Service was fantastic!"

Bad- typical young, inexperienced, poor service that has become a staple on South Beach--- even more annoying with the 18% autogratuity. The stinky- great outdoor setting- it's truly magical. But with outdoors comes smoking, and when a table 2 away lit up a cigar, our meal was over."

From there our server Lee took care of us for the rest of evening. A wonderful meal, a magical evening, and level of service was above and beyond. Well done Michael Schwartz! Bravo.   • "Fine food and a lovely location in the back courtyard of the beautiful Raleigh Hotel, one of South Beach's many Art Deco treasures. The menu choices are inspired, adventurous, and nicely done. Great place for a romantic meal, although I was put off somewhat by allowing smoking even if it's outdoors. Just what a gourmet meal doesn't need--eau de cigarettes. C'mon, Miami Beach, this isn't Europe, so don't let smokers inflict their bad habits on the rest of us. Highly recommended, nevertheless."

  • "Amazing! My first time to this restaurant proved worth while. I had to try it because I like his other restaurants, and I am so glad I did. They did a very nice job creating an intimate atmosphere outside. There aren't a lot of tables, so the service is great; they are nice, and do not rush you, or pressure you to order too much food as in other places. I went with my mom, and we got two small plates, a large plate with a side, and a dessert, and that was plenty. You must try it! Great food, great ambiance. Very East Hampton meats South Beach: modern small plates with a very nice vibe."

  • "The setting on the pool deck on a beautiful Night was lovely. The panzanella salad and Ceviche were huge hits while the heirloom tomato salad and the kale Caesar were tasty. Michaels signature roast chicken which we were told takes 30 minutes came out much faster and was excellent. The skirt steak was a bit tough but very tasty. Don't miss the lemon meringue dessert ! The service was very relaxed and efficient, I would definitely recommend this restaurant."

The setting was nice, being by the pool on a beautiful day. It definitely helped the experience. The desserts were pretty good too, but also not amazing."

  • "Most trendy restaurants fail to deliver in all aspects, especially ones in renovated hotels. Not this one. Management was constantly checking. The whole Yellowtail Snapper was perfectly cooked. A garlic allergy was seamlessly accomodated. The heirloom tomatoes and pasta special were delicious. Worth the wait for the valet parking. There was live music in the lobby on arrival. Time flew by."

  • "We dined 3-4 times previously at Restaurant Michael Schwartz at the Raleigh and found it at the high Michael Schwartz standard. The most recent dinner found the entire staff challenged with a group of 75+ people dining soon after we arrived. Unfortunately, our waitress was not prepared for the extra challenge. Had we not dined there before, we would have been totally offput by her brusque, close to rude, demeanor. In contrast her colleagues, who were responsible for the large party, obviously were well-trained and observant and kept our wine poured, etc. Our waitress did not even have time to apologize for an incorrect bill (by $50+). Still, we highly recommend Restaurant Michael Schwartz for a usually lovely dining experience."

  • "Once again I was at a conference and used Open Table to help me find a place to take clients. This was located conveniently to the Miami Beach Convention center so I made reservations. The place was great. We sat outside with a great view of the pool at the Raleigh Hotel which is where the restaurant is located. Our server was delightful and the service was great. The food was outstanding. Many had the rib eye and loved it. Others enjoyed the swordfish. The appetizers were excellent with a table of sharing. Although small, they were good. The side salad was great. The side of potatoes waxman is recommended. Dessert included some homemade ice cream. AWESOME. Cookies n' cream with homemade oreos. I will return when in Miami Beach."

  • "Having a hard time understanding how an award winning chef created this menu. At first blush the restaurant is magical, with old trees, bistro lights and comfy chairs surrounding the pool area. The food unfortunately uninspired and weak execution. The Octopus tasteless cold and rubbery, the Pork Loin amateur. The Fettuccine was decent and prepared very well. The drinks had too much ice, but were good. The Malbec was so uncreative and thin. The service was dull and boring. We were told the Oysters were sold out after we ordered. Not good form at these prices. Overall the sophisticated effortless atmosphere and menu that is trying to be offered here is missed and made the beautiful space goes flat. I hate wasting my money."

  • "I wanted something different while visiting Miami. Michael Schwartz was just that. We walked through the Raleigh Hotel to the outside and were met with a cool and wildly different atmosphere. The trees where lit with orbs, the pool was illuminated and diners chatted. It was like being in a different world!! The service was amazing and the food was outstanding. I highly recommend Michael Schwartz!!"

  • "On a warm and breezy night the restaurant is an oasis in the middle of South Beach. The setting couldn't be more beautiful. The food was surprisingly good. I am not a fan of Michael's Genuine. This menu was lighter, fresher and more current. It had ceviches, crab salads, wondefrful heirloom tomato salads , octopus etc. There was also a nice selction of pastas. Choose a warm night to go and you won't be disappointed."

  • "Very pleasant hotel location with tables overlooking the pool area. Had both breakfast and dinner here when staying across the street. The breakfast was quite nice with cafe con leche and lemon pancakes. Dinner was quite nice including a variety of entrees. We enjoyed a very fresh salad with several local fish dishes. Desert was excellent. Be aware there will be some families with children."

  • "Enjoyed the great outdoor ambience - a nice table nestled among the trees and tropical flora, nice lighting and an interesting menu. The menu has small medium and large entrees - with the large steak being somewhat small and the medium crab cake not much bigger than a poker chip. Nonetheless, the flavor and creativity made up for the minimalist cuisine. Service was at once harried and a bit sproadic. But it was not bad enough to interfere with an otherwise great meal. Prices look reasonable but add up quick with sides, desserts, water bottles and pricey wine. Six of us ate for about $500 with taxes and tip - more than would seem likely with $20 to $35 entrees. Great ambience, great food and reasonable service."
