Restaurant Martin offers progressive American cuisine prepared by New Mexico's most noted and award winning Chef, Martin Rios at a most accessible price point. Restaurant Martin was a semi-finalist for the 2010 James Beard "Best New Restaurant in the US" and Chef Martin was a semi-finalist for the 2011 James Beard "Best Chef of the Southwest". Chef Martin's cuisine was recently featured on Food TV's Iron Chef America (the only Chef from New Mexico to ever receive such an invitation), and the Cooking Chnnel's "United Tastes of America". He has also been recognized as the Best Chef of both Santa Fe and the State of New Mexico, featured as one of the National Pork Association's Top Chefs and named one of the select Robert Mondavi Celebrated Chefs.   • "Great tuna tartare and superb spring pea soup to start, excellent lamb two ways and good duck ... the desert, lemon curd cake, was a bit of a disappointment but could be improved but the new spring menu is interesting and diverse. Great wine list, if a bit expensive. Excellent service by Starr so we look forward to our return soon!"

  • "The appetizer with tuna tartar was amazing and creative! In fact, it was so tasty that my husband and I ordered a second one! The entrees were generous portions. I ordered the lemon curd cake with blueberry sorbet and poppy seed panna cotta. I loved that the lemon curd cakes were tart and paired perfectly with the raspberry and grapefruit sauce that accompanied the cakes. I will definitely be coming here again.. I have a birthday that's right around the corner."

  • "Second time at the restaurant - first time inside - much more crowded, and the menu seems to have gotten more expensive and the portions much smaller.Party of seven, one appetizer, two deserts, two bottles of reasonably priced wine, $550. No liquor license. I would save you visit for when the delightful outdoors and summer weather make it more special. I had forgotten how ridiculous the design of the flatware is, constantly falling off your plate."

  • "It doesn't get the hype of some of the other Santa Fe restaurants, but it consistently has the best food, creatively cooked and beautifully plated. The other so-called good restaurants always have one bummer of a dish and the service inconsistent, if often a little pompous. Restaurant Martin always provides a warm reception and the wait staff is extremely pleasant, helpful and most professional. But in the end, it is the food. A glorious rich deep green pea soup, perfectly cooked lobster on pasta, succulent fresh fish with an unusual sauce, etc. . The wine list is excellent, and the servers know something about the wines on the list. It is my go too restaurant for any special occasion."

  • "We have been dining at this restaurant once twice a year for several years now and we all agreed that our most recent visit was the best so far. Everything, including all of the accompaniments, were simply outstanding. Beautiful ingredients cooked to perfection with a great presentation. Service was spot-on and the wine list and pairing recommendations were great. We ate at the number one restaurant in Santa Fe on this list a few days earlier and our party of 4 agreed hands down that Martin was much, much better. Martin's is in our top 5 restaurants in the world."

  • "We were celebrating our anniversary and dressed up a bit forgetting that in Santa Fe anything goes. My husband had the tuna and thought it was excellent. I ordered the veggie tasting platter and was very pleased. The flavors in each offering were spiced perfectly. And the desserts were very well done. Strawberry shortcake for him and a deep, rich, melty chocolate cake for me. We will certainly return. 4 stars"

  • "Please just try this award winning restaurant. It is kind of tough while they go through renovations. Amazing free parking at the State Parking lot 1/4 block away: Saves your car from dust. The fish tacos, the salmon BLT sandwich, the romaine lettuce salad with chicken. You cannot go wrong with Martin."

  • "We chose Restaurant Martin on the recommendation of a friend. The menu is terrific and fit for foodies everywhere. Our selections' preparation and presentation were excellent. The ambience in the restaurant left quite a bit to be desired. We were confronted with a heavy "fishy" smell when we first walked in after navigating the smoking staff at the entrance. These affronts quickly dissipated as we became accustomed to it. The restaurant attempts to present a contemporary look and feel but falls well short of matching the quality it presents in its menu. For example, there are no tablecloths. (A small issue to be sure.) Overall, when you look past the weak ambience....the menu is worth experiencing."

  • "Restaurant Martin never disappoints. When we visit Santa Fe, we return again and again for a creative fresh flavorful meal and great service. The Hamachi appetizer took sashimi to another level (think kumquats, orange zest, soy caviar). New Zealand bass entree crisped on the outside and moist inside was a delight. Pork tenderloin served with pork belly more great flavors and very tender. Plus compared to LA for the food and wine prices are quite reasonable! A Gem."

  • "The food was disappointing compared to menu descriptions. The beet salad was beautiful but small & lacking in flavor. My filet was just a filet & the potato dish that accompanied it was flat in flavor and texture. The description of the chocolate cake was mouthwatering, however, the texture was spongy & flavorless. The ice cream that accompanied the cake was delightful. The portions are small but more in line with what actual servings should be. It should be noted that this restaurant does not serve liquor. My husband is a connoisseur of fine bourbon & was disappointed to learn that only wine or beer were options. Our waitress was exceptional. She was extremely professional & attentive. The ambience was lovely and quiet."

The staff was excellent - attentive without being overbearing, pleasant, knowledgeable and just very nice people. The food was incredible. One thing we noticed is that there are no condiments such as salt or pepper, on the tables. There was no need for them. The food was prepared perfectly. This restaurant has been added to our "favorites" list."

  • "Didn't think I could afford it but Resteraunt Week got me in. Wow ! I will skip two mediocre meals to come back for this. As a vegetarian I was shocked and awed by the choices and preperation.   • "This was our third time at REstaurant Martin and we loved everything. Our server was very knowledgable and made excellent selections, The range of vegetarian and meatatarian dishes was vast and it was hard to decide. We started with the Caesar and Butternut Squash Bisque that were both perfectly flavored. Our main courses were the black angus and salmon which were both cooked just right and came with wonderful sides like potatoes and the orange with the salmon was a very nice compliment. And the apple tart was a great way to end another fabulous meal."
