Restaurant MartinFood at it;s best.We are from Louisiana and was looking for a great place to eat. We found it. This place has great food. My wife had the nightly special, Elk tenderloin and Monk fish. Very well presented and very tasty. I had the Lamb. I must say, the lamb cheek was the best tasting lamb this old boy has ever tasted. We finished up with some fantastic Choc. Desserts. Wonderful service, wonderful food, what more could you ask for.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMsweet pea souipwe had a cold sweet pea soup for appetizer and it was spectacular, There were a lot of things in the soup like crab meat. The ingredients were arranged in a series on the bottom of the bowl and then the chilled soup was poured on top of them at the table. I had a dish which was made of very soft fresh pasta and lobster tail and my husband had roast duck and both were great. Then my husband had a very elaborate desert of panna cotta, sorbet, exquisite cookies and other things all very elaborately arranged. This is a restaurant for when and if you have a lot of money and it is a special occasion; The entrees were 30 each, appetizers and deserts12-15 dollars each so for both of us with a half bottle of wine it was $162 plus tip..6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNone better in Santa FeRestaurant Martin is a treasure. The food is delicious and imaginative, the ambience is civilized and sophisticated, and the servers are attentive and knowleadgable. It's our go-to restaurant when we want to impress house guests and visitors to our city. It's pricey, but provides good value for the money.. Also, for you locals, Martin and his wife, Jennifer are very community-minded and big supporters of local charities, particularly the Horse Shelter, which takes care of mistreated and neglected horses.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food!I love this place. Great food, excellent presentation and great atmosphere.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistent excellenceGreat food & service every time. Spring asparagus was a flavor experience. Even the veggie sampler plate is sublime.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperbI have been visiting Santa Fe for over 10 years and have enjoyed the dining experiences the city has to offer. I found this restaurant by chance on open table and was overwhelmed by the experience. We were a party of 3, one local. The food quality and presentation was excellent. Service was outstanding. The wine list was great. Our waiter was knowledgeable in the wines and provided good recommendations. Overall it was an outstanding experience and would definitely dine here again.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb! We have traveled all over the world and dined at highly-rated restaurants. This Santa Fe restaurant was right at the top in every area. Service was perfect and in addition to delicious food, the presentations were beautiful. Do not miss this experience.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic lunchWe went with a party of four and we all left very satisfied. They had a great white wine sangria that was very fruity and refreshing. For starters I had the pea soup which was chilled and a very good palate cleanser. Two of us had the salmon BLT which was great and the others in our party had the fish tacos (which were very lightly fried) but turned out very well. The last one in our party had the crab cakes which she thought was very good. We did not have desert and thought that the price for the qulity of food was very reasonable. We ate outside which was gorgeous and perfect weather. Definitely would go back again. A great lunch spot in Santa Fe for us.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent! The entire experience of dining here is an food experience not to be missed. The plates are works of art and the taste does not disappoint. Thanks for making our visit to Santa Fe complete!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food but underwhelmingWe had high expectations for Martin and while the entrees and appetizers were very good the overall experience was a bit disappointing. The room is ordinary and service is competent but hardly warm or welcoming.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful restaurant2 different people in Pagosa Springs told us about Restaurant Martin. We made a reservation through open table which was so easy and convenient.
This is a great find. Patio seating was wonderful. Food and service excellent. We will definitely be back.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food Excellent serviceWe had a good meal. Our water helped us design a tasting menu by splitting dishes and splitting wines by the glass to accompany ea course..5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperbOne of the best meals we have ever enjoyed. Superb. We sat on the patio.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMService was a bit slipshodWe dined there on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, and had a table outdoors. The wine service was lacking, and there were a couple gaffufels with missing silverware elements on more than one dish, missing spoon for soup, missing fork for entree, etc. that said, the food was, as always, excellent; the ricotta pasta and lobster, the ahi with miso broth, the beet salad all shone, but waiting for implements with which to eat them did not and put a damper on what should have and could have been a memorable meal. Also, at no time did our server notice or attempt to refill the wine glasses at the table; substandard comportment for a restaurant of this stature which we visit whenever we are in Santa Fe.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways great, indoor or out.Consistently good food and great service. Always take our visitors there for either lunch or brunch on weekends.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best dining experiencesMy friend and I were visiting from out of town and ate at this restaurant the last night in town. Everything about the dinner was fabulous. The service was outstanding. We didn't feel rushed at all, our waiter took the time to explain the ingredients included in our dinner, and there was a real team approach by everyone on the staff. The food was excellent and the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food We split the tuna tartare as an appetizer, my friend had the yellow fin tuna entree and I had the halibut. I would definitely come to this restaurant again.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a restaurant should be...Our experience last weekend was terrific. I am quite tired of pretentious restaurants that promise much and deliver little. Martin was the exact opposite. We found the staff quite competent and knowledgeable, the found perfectly cooked and gorgeously presented and the overall experience was excellent. We will be back again for certain. Martin clearly runs a tight ship with well trained people and as a chef is one of the best I've encountered in years - imaginative and dynamic, delivering taste delights that surprise and excite. This man can cook! I wish there were more places around like Martin. It is a true gem.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFine food in the SouthThe chef combines ingredients with imaginative flair and pulls off every dish. We started with the Venison appetizer which was incredibly tasty. The only element that didn't shine was the Blue Cheese Masa since it tasted rather bland. A higher percentage of blue cheese would have improved it. My GF had the Tasting of Colorado lamb and I the chicken breast along with lobster-stuffed thigh. Both dishes were excellent and the accompanying elements worked perfectly with the meat.
Service was very polite and efficient which is always a great combination with excellent dishes. The general ambience is a little low key, which is the only aspect that makes the dining experience a little less special than the quality of the cooking suggests.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMArrived early and they wereArrived early and they were able to accommodate us (better than being late). They had Halibut on the menu and it was outstanding the way it was prepared/paired with the other flavors. My husband had the Spring Pea soup and raved about how good it was served chilled. His main course was outstanding as well, the special of the night which were scallops. We always have a very good meal at this restaurant. Love Martin's food.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAn exceptional dining experience! This meal was The Best during our week's stay...and we had several excellent meals. The chilled pea soup and tuna tartare were superb! The diver scallops with braised pork cheeks and the duck breast were beautifully presented and prepared. The dessert sorbet and ice cream were thankfully modest portions and delicious! This is a culinary experience not to be missed. Yes! We liked it!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the most memorable dinnersWow I can't believe it took us this long to visit this wonderful gem of a restaurant. Expensive but so worth it, from the perfect service by Graciana to the food presentation to the taste! The chef even came out to give us a tour of every plate and all the special ingredients used. Patio dining is so cozy and we felt very spoiled from the whole experience. Definitely a come-back place! I love when a creative menu is also completely delectable!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMA Five Star ExperienceA Santa Fe restaurant that we researched extensively before starting our trip. Prior reviews were very positive so we knew that we were likely in for a great experience. The evening weather was excellent so we opted for a table on the patio - very pleasant. Service was excellent throughout. Choice was very good in that we could have happily ordered most available menu items (and certainly the wine). We ordered Cervena venison and a Garden salad followed by Alaskan halibut and Berkshire pork tenderloin. As a finale we indulged ourselves with a (shared) Bittersweet chocolate truffle cake. Everything was well prepared, well presented and a delight to eat. A five star experience and we will return.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous pairing of flaversVery eclectic food.... Duck was fabulous, chicken stuffed with crab was boring. Everyone enjoyed meal except person with the chicken5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dining experienceWe are always pleased with the food and service. It is consistently a great experience every time we go.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Mother's Day experienceThis is one of the best restaurants in a town with many good restaurants. The food is creative, delicious, beautiful, and well served.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMthis place is AWESOMEStunning food with efficient and knowledgeable staff as well as kitchen staff in the dining room ! I was impressed that the expediter came out to explain our dishes which by the way were fabulous. All to perfection, creative and fun menu with lovely and uncontrived presentations!
Thanks CHEF~~~~! You rock as well as the staff and all it brings to the table!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLovelyThe entrees did not disappoint unlike other Santa Fe high end restaurants. Chef Rios does wonders with fish.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExtremely Satisfied. This restaurant surpassed all expectations. The food was excellent from appetizers to dessert, presentation was an added plus! Definitely a must for anyone in the Santa Fe area. Service is outstanding.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodService and food were outstanding. Very interesting combinations of flavors, imaginative presentation without skimping on portion size. One of the very best meals we have had in Santa Fe.
Ambiance is not really up to the quality of the food - you could call it pedestrian, and the seating was not particularly comfortable. Tables are a bit crowded together, but the net is a spectacular place for its food.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMquality fareconsidering its Santa /Fe.... quality fare at a good price. Asian inspired dishes mainly5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent preparation andExcellent preparation and presentation of unique dishes. Thoroughly enjoyed it.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Brunch! In a town filled with stellar restaurants, Restaurant Martin emerged as one of our favorites during a recent visit to Santa Fe. Food, service, ambience - all outstanding.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMNewer find in Santa FeAn excellent food restaurant. All courses were great.
Limited wine list, no cocktails and slightly noisy but otherwise an excellent find.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, Chef Martin RiosAs always, Chef Martin Rios never disapoints. The menu is very creative and delicious. You cannot go wrong here. Fabulous service as well.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe conciege at our hotelThe conciege at our hotel told us that the chef at Restaurant Martin has been nominated for a James Beard award for the Southwest - and we have to say that it is well deserved. This restaraunt has zoomed to the top of our list as a favorite in Santa Fe (next to the beloved and missed Max's Cafe). The food was inventive, tasty and the portions were just right. I had the tuna tartare appetizer, the duck with maple sauce entre and the "globe" for desert - loved every bite of each course. The service was wonderful and just a great overall experience. If you are going to Santa Fe you must have dinner at Restaurant Martin.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMa Special DinnerWe had a wonderful dinner here. Every course was special, starting with fresh ingredients and ending with inspired cooking. The service also was outstanding. Highly recommended for foodies.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe small house is quaintThe small house is quaint and cozy. Just about every table was occupied and service was a bit slow. The tables are close, which makes it a little noise. The food was quite good. We started with sauteed spinach as an appetizer. It was prepared just so. My wife has sauteed sea bass for her dinner. The fish was fresh and prepared so it was just cooked through. I loved the sauce - my wife wasn't so thrilled with so much sauce. I had the duck breast. It was skinless, so no crispy surface, which is important to me. The duck was cooked through, but still pink inside and moist and very tasty. The wine list offers plenty of choices, but in my estimation a little overpriced compared to some other of the finer restaurants in Santa Fe.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative and Delicious Dishes! We come to Santa Fe often and always enjoy coming to Martin Rios' restaurant. Always good!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for 2The food was amazing and it provided the perfect place for two people to enjoy each other. Service was great, we barely had to wait for anything. I plan on dining here again.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMost memorable dinner in Santa FeWe enjoy several trips to Santa Fe, each year. The dining scene there is dynamic and competitive. Our meal at Restaurant Martin was the most memorable of any dinner, anywhere in Santa Fe, including Luminaria, Geronimo, The Compound, and Santacafe.
The halibut was superb, not too much sauce, perfect spring vegetables with crunch and flavor. Tuna tartare in watermelon reduction was memorable. And thank you for the fairly reasonable prices on the wine list, and the availability of high quality half bottles. Service was spot-on, no hurry, informative, friendly, cordial and professional. Perfection.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing!Food so fresh and thoughtfully prepared is a rare treat.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMVery, very nice restaurant.Very, very nice restaurant. Beautiful table service. The food and service is always wonderful.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMfantastic serviceAs always, the best service we have in Santa Fe- Whitney was our very personable waiter. Were there for Saturday dinner ($140+ tip), had lamb, the vegetarian special and the valrhona chocolate dessert--- everything was perfect! So flavorful!! We went back the next day for Sunday brunch- mimosa, turkey/green chili/avocado/tomato sandwich and duck quesadillo- both big and delicious! We always eat there when we're in town.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMSouthwest Dining GemFantastic food. Wish the wine list matched the quality of food. Excellent service! The staff graciously accommodated our request to move to another table due to an obnoxious diner next to us. A real gem!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentExcellent service and food that is prepared with precision and love. A excellent wine list that would satisfy the most discriminating foodie.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe new menu is amazing. TheThe new menu is amazing. The chilled spring pea soup and garden salad are amazing and a beautiful presentation.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been coming to SantaWe have been coming to Santa Fe for the last 20 years almost exclusively to visit family. We always have taken the occasion to have a nice meal together and on this trip we decided to try Restaurant Martin both because of it's reputation and being within walking distance of my sister's house. The space itself was comfortable and looking at the garden area I wished we were eating a little later in the year so we could eat outdoors. The service was superb. Professional and cordial. Each of the four of us had a first and main course. The highlight of the meal was the Warm Cauliflower Flan which was much more than the name implies-good enough to be a main. The venison and pork belly were also wonderful. All of the main courses were excellent es4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my favoritesRestaurant Martin is amazing. Food was some of the best in Santa Fe. If your a local, you need to have dinner in this place. If you are a visitor, you will be doing yourself a favor eating here while in town.
