Diner Reviews
  • "Were seated promptly and proceeded to enjoy an absoutely fantastic meal. The tartare/pomme frites were incroyable and the rack of lamb was inoubliable! All accented with an outstanding Sancerre and the amazing pain perdu dessert. A truly enjoyable experience from start to finish."

  • "The food was great and reasonably priced for the quality of food."

  • "Visited based on a friend, fellow foodie's nod. Food was very good overall: salads were generous and nicely presented, salmon pot au feu was beautiful with fresh herbs and a quality stock as the base, panned veal chop was incredibly tender with chanterelles as a nice touch - while the reduction may have had a little heavy hand on the salt! Service was excellent - attentive (no wine or water glass left unfilled) but not intrusive during what was a business discussion. Overall a very nice experience and one I will look to repeat!"

  • "Locals suggested this restaurant to me back in 2013 and we've never been disappointed. The service is top notch and the brunch menu is fantastic. The selection ensures that there is something for everyone. Look forward to trying the dinner menu next time we're in Montreal."

  • "Unfortunately we had the mussels and they had not been cleaned properly; there still had some grains of sand in them. Have eaten a lot better in this restaurant."

  • "Been to this resto numerous times and never disappointed. Great menu and wine selections. If u r a late night eater, take advantage of their special menu after 10pm. Despite price reduction, they do not comprise in the quality of their food. One of my favorite resto!"

  • "Someone is making these reservations and using my email address. Without a password, I can't unsubscribe her. I did not make the reservation, therefore I can't review it. There is something wrong with this system that there isn't a confirmation email sent out to make sure the email address is correct."

  • "Service was excellent, food was excellent, nice wine selection, a little pricey. Expect to drop two bills at least wine but it was very good and worth the price."

  • "Except noise level everything was great. Excellent gravlax. Nice service. Good price."

  • "I really cannot recommend this restaurant. Given how expensive it is, I was expecting it to be much better. The ambiance was uninviting and the food was very unremarkable and overpriced. I have no issues paying for good food, but was serviced a highly uninspired salad entre, very dry and tasteless ribs, and a dessert that I would expect to see served at a buffet breakfast. The presentation was also lacking any finish. The service was good, and the waiter friendly, but overall it is terrible value for your money. At a third of the price, it would have been reasonable."

  • "Lemeac IS a neighborhood gem. The Bistro menu, the service and ambiance are very consistant and very good. I recommend."

  • "Very pleasant evening. When we told the server that the wine we had chosen wasn't good, it was very graciously replaced with another. Liver was outstanding. Toulouse Sausages & fries very good.. Have been before & will definitely go back."

  • "I came after 10 pm for their special. Escargot for appetizer, though the dish looked creative, the taste was meh. It was not bland but it had many flavors which didn't blend together. Then I had the sea salt salmon, a big pot of salmon topped with sea salt over a veggie broth. The execution is much better and I enjoyed the creativity with it. The soup was also creamy. The portions are generous Service is very bad, no one greeted at the door, I feel like a pedestrian staring at people dining. After the server found out I was not ordering wine, he did not bother to come by again, I guess I was not worth for his service, despite it's a upscale french restaurant. People who brought out the food is more polite than this person - A thumb down!"

  • "Bright restaurant and warm ambiance located in the heart of Outremont, attractive Montreal neighborhood. Well deversified menu and "a la carte". Very professional and effective service. Good choice of wine list and by the glass. A little pricey."

  • "You live in or plan to visit Montreal? You are a french cuisine lover? Don't miss a chance to go at Lemeac then, it is great food without pretention, it is artisitic but not too much, the best salmon and the prettiest terrace. The weekend brunch is awesome! Very nice for kids too! The best french bistrot experience in Montreal."

  • "Go at 10pm. $27 is an extraordinary deal for the flavour explosions they set before you. We enjoyed some bubbly and noticed right away that they were playing some of our favourite songs! The service was impeccable. We had at least four people taking care of us without being obtrusive whatsoever. Our server offered us the dessert menu but we were stuffed from the first two courses so we opted for an aperitif. Our server made suggestions and he let us try a little before we ordered it just to make sure we would be happy. We left feeling full, happy, and well taken care of. Go treat yourself. Eating at 10pm makes you feel very European. I hear the brunch is phenomenal as well. I am planning my return."

  • "Dining at Lemeac is the authentic French dining experience. The food is well chosen, beautifully cooked and served. There are a few regional dishes for dedicated foodies, like blood sausage (boudin). This is real food, deliciously simple, fresh and visually delightful, and, thankfully, the menu keeps well away from today's habit of overloading a plate with far too many colours, textures and foods that just don't complement each other. You won't find chocolate or strawberry sauce on salmon here!"

  • "Leméac is a lovely restaurant, high ceilings, lots of light, a terrace available even in winter (heated, of course!). It has the feel of a Paris bistro. It was a wonderful place to go to for brunch on a cold January Sunday just after the holidays. Although it was a very busy morning, the service remained attentive and friendly throughout, and we never felt rushed. We both had the blinis with gravlax, an excellent choice, we both agreed. The mimosa was just the right accompaniment. I would recommend."

  • "It was my first time at Lemeac and will not be my last. I am a regular of L'Express and Holder and I must say that Lemeac will now become a place that I will return more regularly. My friend that came with me for dinner also informed me that Lemeac offers a great brunch. The service was impeccable probably the best I've had this year. Food was served promptly and properly."

  • "You will get what you went for in this reliable brasserie. The oysters are fresh, the atmosphere crowded, the food is up to your expectations. Even desserts are up to par, specially their renowed "pain perdu". The wine list is well researched and fairly priced too."

  • "Had the mussels very plentiful but the flavor was off due to the taste of fennel . great fries and we all loved our dessert."

  • "Had a great meal at Lemeac, with a flavourful soupe de poisson (fish soup) to start and then delicious scallops to follow. Co-diners had the salmon tartare which was perfect. Energetic ambience and attentive service are added assets."
