For nearly a decade now, you can enjoy at Leméac a taste of classic French cuisine. Our bistrot specializes in traditional fare like steak frites, short rib, home-style blood pudding and cabillaud. The menu also offers an elaborate wine list, a selection of Quebec cheeses and a variety of homemade desserts.
Enjoy all this in a casual ambiance and a sophisticated decor, on the beautiful heated patio on the garden side or through the large windows overlooking Laurier Avenue in Outremont.

Food was very good overall: salads were generous and nicely presented, salmon pot au feu was beautiful with fresh herbs and a quality stock as the base, panned veal chop was incredibly tender with chanterelles as a nice touch - while the reduction may have had a little heavy hand on the salt! Service was excellent - attentive (no wine or water glass left unfilled) but not intrusive during what was a business discussion. Overall a very nice experience and one I will look to repeat!"

  • "I really cannot recommend this restaurant. Given how expensive it is, I was expecting it to be much better. The ambiance was uninviting and the food was very unremarkable and overpriced. I have no issues paying for good food, but was serviced a highly uninspired salad entre, very dry and tasteless ribs, and a dessert that I would expect to see served at a buffet breakfast. The presentation was also lacking any finish. The service was good, and the waiter friendly, but overall it is terrible value for your money. At a third of the price, it would have been reasonable."

  • "I came after 10 pm for their special. Escargot for appetizer, though the dish looked creative, the taste was meh. It was not bland but it had many flavors which didn't blend together. Then I had the sea salt salmon, a big pot of salmon topped with sea salt over a veggie broth. The execution is much better and I enjoyed the creativity with it. The soup was also creamy. The portions are generous Service is very bad, no one greeted at the door, I feel like a pedestrian staring at people dining. After the server found out I was not ordering wine, he did not bother to come by again, I guess I was not worth for his service, despite it's a upscale french restaurant. People who brought out the food is more polite than this person - A thumb down!"

  • "Go at 10pm. $27 is an extraordinary deal for the flavour explosions they set before you. We enjoyed some bubbly and noticed right away that they were playing some of our favourite songs! The service was impeccable. We had at least four people taking care of us without being obtrusive whatsoever. Our server offered us the dessert menu but we were stuffed from the first two courses so we opted for an aperitif. Our server made suggestions and he let us try a little before we ordered it just to make sure we would be happy. We left feeling full, happy, and well taken care of. Go treat yourself. Eating at 10pm makes you feel very European. I hear the brunch is phenomenal as well. I am planning my return."

There are a few regional dishes for dedicated foodies, like blood sausage (boudin). This is real food, deliciously simple, fresh and visually delightful, and, thankfully, the menu keeps well away from today's habit of overloading a plate with far too many colours, textures and foods that just don't complement each other. You won't find chocolate or strawberry sauce on salmon here!"

It was a wonderful place to go to for brunch on a cold January Sunday just after the holidays. Although it was a very busy morning, the service remained attentive and friendly throughout, and we never felt rushed. We both had the blinis with gravlax, an excellent choice, we both agreed. The mimosa was just the right accompaniment. I would recommend."

A variety of appetizing meals to please everyone...from the Raviolis de Champignons to the Poulet de Cornouaille to the Bavette de Boeuf! Definitely a great place to return. It was a shame we had a limited lunch hour, otherwise we would definitely have stayed longer to appreciate the dessert menu and digestives."
