Restaurant Kevin Taylor will be closing soon (probably before anyone reads this), due to Hotel Teatro's plans to remodel. I read that Kevin Taylor has another project in the works, and his other properties are still open - but this, his signature location, is indeed exceptional. Our meal included a few of those treasured "best bite ever" moments - the snap pea-lime risotto (with a perfectly cooked halibut), that piquillo pepper aioli (accompanied the lemongrass poached artichoke salad), and those bread & butter gnocchi - all amazing. The rest of the meal was "only" delicious...

  • Closing at the End of the Month?

Didn't know that when I booked a table. Three hours for dinner of two people. The wine "pairings" literally was a joke. They served Four Vines Zinfandel with the meat course that you can purchase at Applejacks for $8.99 a BOTTLE. Two others courses were paired with a Pinot Grigio which is by far and away the dumbest of all varietals if they knew anything about wine. Warning: This restaurant should close today not at the end of the month. The food at best was average, the service was horrible and the wine list was a joke. Whomever is buying the wine might want to consider something other than commercial brands from wine conglomerates. Just plain dumb.

Our dinner was delicious and the quiet, calm environment of this restaurant was most welcome. We were very sad to see that this oasis of quiet and fine food will be gone in a few weeks, but we look forward to seeing all the staff again at KT the Opera. Both places have always been our favorites. Thanks for a nice evening.

Everything from the atmosphere and subdued lighting, to the impeccable staff and the outstanding food in this restaurant, is fantastic. They offer various courses that can be customized to your request, a knowledgeable and friendly staff, and an detailed wine pairing for any course. The food itself ranks as some of the best I've ever had. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly. I will be back again soon.

We went here for restaurant week and they treated us just as well as any the highest paying customer. Our waiter Ethan was so pleasant and funny. He made this experience even better. The food was not only presented beautifully but the quality/taste of it was spectacular. If you have a special occasion coming up--This is the place to go.

Hands down one of the best restaurants I've been to. The Halibut was among the best fish I've ever had and only topped by mahi mahi that I caught myself in Mexico and cooked on the beach. The atmosphere was nice, but not stuffy or over the top fancy.

The wait staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about the restaurant, food, and wine. Very classy and educated on food andthe. Denverrestaurant scene. The foie gras was very good, could have been cooked slightly less (I get snobby on foie gras). The duck and duck confit were excellently cooked and delicious. Food was outstanding and a great experience. Great for special dates and a classy woman. One of the best places to eat in Denver.

Kevin Taylor delivered first-rate food and excellent service during a week when many eateries cut corners and rush diners to turn tables. Unlike the typical high-end restaurant, Kevin Taylor wisely used this opportunity to entice new clientele by showing the best it has to offer rather than dishing modestly priced items more in sync with the $30 tab. Restaurant Week is an excellent marketing tool to engender new business. Bravo to Taylor for giving us a memorable meal.

I was really happy with our evening at Restaurant Kevin Taylor. The food was fabulous, the portions were surprisingly generous, and the service was really great. My one (tiny little) gripe would be that our waiter was not friendly at all--never smiled once. We didn't really feel like he was that happy about waiting on us. We have had dinner at this restaurant on several occasions and look forward to returning whenever we are in Denver. On this occasion the food was disappointing, not bad but certainly not what I had expected. We might make it to Denver once a year and this was our go to restaurant but after this past weekends experience I will certainly consider others. The setting and service are still first class but our I had better meal at half the price elsewhere in downtown Denver on this trip.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a elegant restaurant for a special occasion and Restaurant Kevin Taylor fit the bill. We were pleased with our experience at RKT. We waited in the bar while they prepared our table (we were 2nd seating) and enjoyed the lively ambiance. The service was exceptional; the food was unusual and delicious. We paid for the wine pairings. Although we both enjoy wine, I am not sure I would pay the $85 per person to have that option again. Half of the wines were sweet and not to my personal liking. It was worth the experience, although next time I would choose something I would enjoy more. The attention to detail that the chef and the restaurant staff pay attention to is worth the bill.

My wife and I chose to celebrate Valentine's Day a week early and now we both feel like we picked the perfect romantic restaurant. The decor is very classy, with dark wood, a high ceiling and giant mirrors on the wall - something out of a fine English manor. It was quiet with not a hint of kitchen traffic. This set the mood perfectly. The restaurant is located next to the Denver Performing Arts complex, so I imagine most guests finish by 7:15 for a show. Tastes vary, but I can say that we immensely enjoyed our appetizers and entrées, and consider it on par with the best we've had from San Francisco to Venice. The sommelier had us try several wines and the pairings were excellent. Great service. We look forward to next time!

When some chefs describe a dish with multiple flavors, it often disappoints. Not here! The chef is brilliant. What sounds like combos that "push the envelope" end up here as the most perfect merging of flavors that enhance each other. The halibut I had was better than any I have had on the coast. The risotto with it was light and lovely. The amuse bouche was two perfect little potstickers with pork and cauliflower filling with a great sauce. No matter how perfect the food was, we all know that great food can be ruined by poor service. In this case , our server Cameron was as perfect as the food. He is warm and has great grace. In short, he's what you always hope to have for a server on a special occasion. Thanks, KT for a perfect evening.

Kim found this restaurant by looking for 4 or 5 star restaurants in Denver. This was the only one that popped up. It is a Verycozy restaurant but they do not pack the tables in to accommodate more people. Our waiter did a tremendous job. Turns out he had just moved from Orlando (Kevin). He answered all of our questions. We decided to have the 6 course tasting menu plus the wine pairings. We even paid extra for a heavier pour... What can I say, we love our wines. We would not likely have paired those wines with that food but The Pairings were incredible. Wow.

Overall, our restaurant experience was a quality one, but did not meet our expectations. We arrived at 5:30 (the earliest reservation offered) for dinner before our show and the waiter assured us that we could complete the tasting menu with enough time for our 7:30 showtime. So, we ordered a 4 course and 6 course tasting menu with the wine supplement for the evening. Well, there were several courses that were served without the wine, so we had to wait for our wine as our meal cooled at our table. Also, at our 3 and 5th course, we mentioned to the waiter that we would only have enough time for my wife's dessert course, as I was still finishing up my principal course. It took ten minutes for him to present her dessert. Hence, we left (cont

If Kevin Taylor is a 4 star restaurant in Denver, then Denver has problems. While the food was good, it was not great and certainly not worth the fine dining price. The restaurant was fairly empty for such a popular place and the service was horrible. I understand that it's difficult for a restaurant to "control" patrons, but during dinner last night a group of men dominated the noise level of the entire restaurant. There were many times that we could not hear a conversation at our own table. We weren't the only patrons who were annoyed by the noise level of the group, many of us looked over, complained to the staff, but to no avail. The ceilings are high, noise travels, and a rowdy group of men OR women can often dominate an otherwise lovely setting. It's the holiday season, people are celebrating, but it's just as important for a couple to enjoy a special evening out as it is a larger group.

Friends and I gathered to have an early dinner before a Christmas Concert by the CSO. The hostess was very kind as we were 15 minutes late to our reservation due to the weekend holiday traffic downtown. The waiters were very attentive and made sure that we were served in time to enjoy dessert and coffee and make our curtain. All this was done without ever appearing to rush us or our food. We all ordered something different and then managed to share morsels and despite this rather confusing round robin of plates - the waiters brought extra utensils and plates for sharing! All this was done very elegantly! and without of hint of making us feel rather "common" - it was delightful. Last but not least - every dish ordered was magnificent!

We wanted to like this restaurant - based on other reviews we were hoping for a nice dinner. The bar across the lobby in the Hotel Teatro was actually quite nice for a pre-dinner drink. But the restaurant was largely empty on a holiday season Friday night- that should have been our first clue. We chose the four course meal with wine pairings. The service was OK although our first waiter didn't have an order pad and initially wrote our order on his hand, then retrieved a pad. The soup and salad were fair at best - the lobster dishes lacked richness (watercress/ radishes with lobster, with no sauce to speak of). The entrees were barely passable, meats were OK but vegetables/starches were not well seasoned and poorly prepared.
