Diner Reviews
  • "Great and probably best small French restaurant in this neighborhood. Orginal and tasty meals and it is now a BYO wine restaurant; high quality/price ratio."

  • "Beautiful restaurant. Vert attentive staff couldn't be more accommodating. Apologized for having no English menus. Hey we ARE in Quebec Gave me dessert to take home in their own dish. Said that would make me want to come back to return it. No problem there We were 14 and EVERYONE. loved it "

  • "We went on a Friday night. We tried their special menu "martinique gourmande". The food was excellent. The service was very friendly. The local is small, nicely decorated. A great place."

  • "The menu suggested was inspired by spices and textures of the creole culture. The service was efficient and friendly. A good address to add to your favorites."

  • "Those who ordered appetizers didn't get their soup/salad which should have been included with their Table d'Hote. Also, they were charged for their coffee which should have been included. What a rip. It's a shame I won't be going back despite the food being exceptional."

  • "We had a lovely dinner here on a Saturday night in Montreal, we were one of only a couple tables there on a gorgeous summer evening. Our waitress was nice and was polite enough to use English with us (although there were a couple language issues, no big deal). I found her just slightly pushy, although she did steer us in the right direction eventually. We had a divine Foie Gras appetizer (we only eat this about once every couple years) followed by duck breast and steak. We both found our meat just slightly overcooked, but since she didn't ask what temperature we wanted them, we did not complain. We had (erroneously?) assumed they would both be cooked medium-rare. This place is worth a try, but we won't seek it out on our next trip."

Un must!"

  • "Not really a great experience and not the best quality/price ratio. We tried the boar and the sweetbreads but the sauces were too much sugary. Good but not excellent!"

  • "We ate there during Montreal's Restaurant Week. Everything was well-prepared, and tasty, and the visual presentations of the food were excellent. We tried the seal, which was a first for us, and it was really good. We'll gladly return to this restaurant."

  • "The restaurant Carte Blanche was a fantastic experience. We visited it during the event Montreal a table, and we had a special menu. The food was delicious. And the service was excellent. I recommand this restaurant. It's a excellent adress in Montreal."

  • "My spouse and I ordered the same appetizer, with the foie gras; it was far and away the absolute best appetizer I have ever had. The main courses (arctic char and roast beef) were delicious and the desserts mouth watering. The restaurant was packed tight; this was a little uncomfortable and was the source of much too high a volume of noise. But the food overcame the nuisances; it was impeccable and the service as well was superb - attentive, prompt and caring. We are from out of town but would definitely return to the Carte Blanche on a future trip to Montreal."

  • "We discovered the restaurant with the Montreal a table festival, The table d'hote was very affordable ! The dishes were very good, we didn't wait a long time between dishes, we arrived at 6:15 and it was quiet until 7:30 - 8:00, after that we could still here ourselves without trying hard. The decoration is great : simple as a gastronomic restaurant should be, but with a bit of fantasy, And most of all : our waitress was adorable !"

  • "This is really a neighbourhood gem. In this part of town where all restaurants are just average, this was a great find. I was there for the MTL à table menu. The lobster bisque which they started us with was a bit disastrous. It wasn't warm enough and it was way too watery. The main course, on the other hand, (I had the seal filet) was delicious and the dessert (cheesecake-style pear and maple) was definitely the best part of the meal. Service was great and the ambiance is a good chance of pace from other restaurants in the area. Not one of my top picks for Montreal, but good nonetheless."
