"Wonderful suburban restaurant, absolutely loved every little thing about Ava. Waiter was honest with us about the chef having to redo the quail before bringing it out and apologized with a free calamari appetizer. The ravioli was a revelation. The Gouda mac and cheese was delicious."

"My husband and I had our rare date night at AVA's it was one of the best most enjoyed evenings in a long time. The food was excellent, orginal, and fun to eat. The paired wine was awesome. I would highly recommend this for a romantic night out. Service was personal, and informative for the dishes."

"Service initially was attentive later it was slow as was our food on coming out. Ordered filet mignonette medium rare came out medium well. I had a cold so didn't really care as I couldn't taste it. Waiter came by to ask about meal and I said mine was a little overdone. He wanted to replace it but having waited 45 min for our entre I didn't want to bother. After we were done he brought me another plate done right. Still a little done for medium rare. But thoughtful since he knew I would just take it home. The table next to us had his attention more being demanding and silly but I guess the old saying is true... Squeaky wheels ...We also had a $25 gift cert but he wouldn't take it since we got 1/2 off bottle of wine on Tuesday's so?"

"We were anticpating a great brunch. It was not and for the money I would have preferred the Conservatory or the Mansion. Service was slow. I ordered eggs benedict. I asked for the bernaise sauce to be placed on the side and for bacon (they had no ham) instead of sausage. No probel, However the dish came with sauce all over it. Still no problem. Then it arrived totally decompossed..two BISCUITS, two poached eggs, seperated, bacon sep. sauce sep as requested. OK I coposed it myself for $16. We also requested jams for our biscuits - a nice touch that arrives at all tables. They said we only have pear jam...sounded yummy. They brought blueberry - Bon Marie type. good, but they had the nerve to charge $2.00 for a small 1/4 cup serving of jam"

"Restaurant AVA's consistently great food and service make it a real treasure, especially for a relatively small town, and rivals some of the better restaurants in nearby Dallas. There really is nothing bad on the menu, but I recommend anything wood-fired. Also, try something new. These folks can make things one might not usually enjoy delectable. Example: I'm not big on sweetbreads, but had some with my steak on Saturday and they were excellent! They also make the best calamari you'll find just about anywhere. Unless the weather is bad, you'll find it quite busy on weekends, so reservations are recommended. For large groups, request the big table outside the open kitchen."

"Amazing every time. Chef's 5 course tasting with wine is the way to go if you want to experience a "taste of AVA.". Everything is made fresh, in house including breads and ice creams."

"The food was divine. The quarters were a little too close to other patrons for my comfort.
Our server Dustin was extremely friendly and helpful, and had a great sense of humor.
We really REALLY enjoyed ourselves. And I need the white sangria recipe!"

"1. Portions small, took forever to get food, wine prices were sky high, entree prices high for what you got (thank goodness I had a coupon that we had to ask the waiter twice to take off of the bill).
This place is totally off of my list."
