Restaurant at The Hotel TidesGreat food and serviceWe had 8 people for dinner, and not one complaint! Outstanding restaurant.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Consistent & DelightfulA gem of a restaurant. Each visit has brought us a nice surprise of menu choices as the chef continually updates the menu. Yet, there are items which are on the menu which are hallmarks of Tides - Shirt Ribs!
The wine menu is not outstanding, but all of teh choices are affordable and you will find wines that will compliment the food at a nice price ($50 or less).
The staff is attentive and friendly.
I highly recommend The Tides if you're planning to be in the Asbury Park area.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had great fun in the bar/lobbyWe had great fun in the bar/lobby and a sumptuous meal in the dining room area. The latter has preserved molded tin on the walls and ceilings which was very unusual. The many windows in the room kept it from being too dark. The fish was superb, and the wine selections very enticing. The hotel looks retro-30s and is located in a residential area a few blocks from the ocean but is well worth seeking out as an alternative to the cookie-cutter places or overblown Italian options located elsewhere in Asbury Park! If "different and excellent" isn't your thing, look elsewhere but if it is you'll have a great time and a superb meal here.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWent there with a group ofWent there with a group of six on my husband's recommendation. He had been there once before and said the food (short rib of beef) was outstanding. I guess it was because everyone that ordered it in our group pretty much licked their plates clean! The restaurant is housed within The Hotel Tides in Asbury. It's off the beaten path away from the boardwalk. The dining room decor is very eclectic with it's tin ceiling and walls. It's very cozy. The service was wonderful as well as the food. I had the rack of lamb and it was melt in your mouth delicious! We will definitely be going back for our wedding anniversary dinner! Great spot, would definitely recommend.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely atmosphere with pleasantLovely atmosphere with pleasant soothing background music. So nice to be able to have a conversation over a wonderful meal. All the dishes were beautifully presented and delicious!! Will definitely return again and again.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Restaurant at the HotelThe Restaurant at the Hotel Tides has now become one of my favorite restaurants in the area. To start, when I walked in (Chris) I assume the host right away knew my name and party, I was very impressed right off the start. The decor is very welcoming, not flashy but has that vibrate Artist feel to it combined with the heritage. There is a nice little bar before you go into the dinning area and the staff at the bar was very nice and know how to make cocktails.
The food was great and all ingredients were freshly made and not some frozen slope you might get at tacky places. I had the 12 oz. Lobster tail with a cilantro butter sauce. For an appitzer I had the calmari which is not fried, it is the whole body. Great place, great staff=)3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
