I chose this restaurant in an attempt to find an upscale classy spot to have dinner with some valued friends. We were impressed with the ambiance and everyone really enjoyed their appetizers and main courses. My complaints are that in our attempt to have a quiet adult dinner, the hostess placed a couple with a young child at the table next to us and the kid was annoyingly crying to destroy the lovely evening we were trying to have. Also you have to pay $10 to park in the Getty Lot which you would think would be validated after a multiple hundred dollar meal.

We went for my birthday, and the view was great. The food was good, but the service was a bit slow. The portions were also inconsistent. Two of us got the salmon, but mine was about half the size of the other one. So, the quality was great, but they need to work on consistency and better service.

This is one of the finest restaurants anywhere. The menu is interesting and varied and the food beutifully prepared and presented. I was astonished to find such an outstanding restaurant at a public facility. Of course the art and sculpure are fabulous but I would make the trip just to dine in this restaurant. We started our meal with a delicious seasonal soup and then we both had seafood which was cooked to perfection with great sauce and accompaniments. The service was impeceable and the view spectacular. A dining treasure not to be missed!

Soup, appetizers, and entrees all arrived cold. Server forgot my appetizer; no apologies. Server placed bill at the table as soon as desert was delivered. Server positioned himself where his rear was touching the edge of our table as he was talking to folks at the next table. All unacceptable for this level of Restaurant. Selections are good; taste is OK, view and architecture is amazing.

Such a shame that this isn't a better restaurant. We so enjoyed coming up to the Getty, looking at art, strolling the garden. We didn't expect an outstanding meal, but thought we'd have at least a good meal. We chose the Getty to celebrate our husbands birthdays and we knew it would be quiet - great for conversation. The food was awful! Overly embellished, over-sauced, and just plain boring. All four of us love to dine out and have had many delicious experiences at so many wonderful restaurants - both expensive and not. The Restaurant was way, way, way overpriced for the poor quality of the dishes. The bread was good. The staff was lovely.

We went to the Getty for brunch on our anniversary. The setting is lovely, and the food matches the setting -- beautiful as well as tasty. My husband, a vegetarian, can be picky and thoroughly enjoyed an amazing risotto served in a large edible squash. Diners nearby all asked what the dish was. My crab cakes benedict was not as unusual but was still very good. Dessert (we were too full for more) of chocolate and peppermint ice cream with cookies, served on a "Happy Anniversary" platter, was excellent. Our server made excellent wine by the glass suggestions and was very helpful throughout the leisurely meal. A stroll to the gardens and the photography exhibit completed the afternoon.

Met relatives at The Getty Center and decided in advance to make reservations for Sunday Brunch here. The experience was lovely in every way. Beautiful views through glass walls, excellent attentive and helpful service and wonderful food. The three of us ordered the chicken sausage Frittada which came with greens on top and cherry tomatoes and other veggies cooked in with cheese and chicken sausage. Delicious, and healthy, too! It was a wonderful spot for dining and unhurried conversation. I can't wait to go back with my husband.

The Getty Center is exceptional in so many ways. The restaurant is good, but doesn't match the heights to which the rest of the Getty soars. Our entrees--salmon and swordfish--were superb--and the cracker sticks on the bread plate were top flight as well. The salad would have been perfect--colorfully, flavorfully fresh--except that salty sliced lard has no place in a wholesome salad. The desserts couldn't figure out what they were supposed to be. Someone was trying way too hard to be creative and not focusing on quality. Service was slow, especially when it came time to get and pay the bill. It would have taken little (get the lard out and make delicious desserts--not artsy ones) to have reached the pinnacle of pleasure. Nice try.

One of the highlights of going to the Getty is having lunch at the restaurant. The Prosecco, preferably with splash of St. Germaine is a great way to start. My son loves the french toast, husband the crab cakes and the salad with figs for me. The bread served was warm and tasty. Don't forget to order dessert - they are beautiful and taste as good as they look. I like to sit inside as sometimes it can get a little breezy outside for lunch and I like the white tablecloths. It is quiet so easy to carry on a conversation. A real winner for me.
