We were very disappointed in the meal. It used to be so good, but now it has become coarse and flavorless. I suppose it's tough to have real talent in the kitchen only one night a week. The menu is far too shellfish and meat heavy. There really is not much to choose from for a vegetarian or flexitarian or someone allergic to shellfish. And the servings were way too large, as though it's striving to be Denny's. Such a pity. It was so good in past years.

Destination dining at its best. Go for the restaurant experience and get the Getty thrown in for free! A wonderful way to spend an evening or afternoon (restaurant is open Friday and Saturday nights). Walk around the Getty before or after and enjoy one of the most scenic and elegant restaurants in LA. A must when you're showing visitors around.

This is the third time my wife and I have dinned here. This time we took a friend who has never been to the Getty Center, he loved it and wished his wife could have come with us, but she had a prior commitment. My wife and I each had a huge Cobb salad with herb marinated chicken, bacon, apples, bleu cheese, cranberries, pecans, cider dressing and a half bottle of Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir since we are from Santa Barbara. I also enjoyed a bowl of seasonal soup. Our friend ordered an incredible appetizer with figs, cheese, nuts and berries that the chef increased to meal size with the charge the same as the Cobb salad; he also ordered a sampling of four desserts which he shared.

The view is lovely, the food is good, the service friendly. Sometimes the kitchen seems to be a bit slow, and food trots out at unexpected times, usually late. Our soup came before cocktails were served, then wine that should come with dinner, came 35 minutes before the main course, so the chill was off. Otherwise a good place. We'll be back.

Recommended it to my Aunt and Uncle based on a previous great experience but was extremely disappointed. The service was only so so and the waiter impatient with questions about the menus from my Aunt. The drinks were poor, my Uncle began choking on his martini when he reached the bottom and found all the vermouth. My drink also was poorly made and not mixed well. The main course, ravioli for my Aunt, salmon for my Uncle and scallops for me, all came out cold. My Aunt sent hers back to be warmed and it came back only slightly heated. My scallops were rubbery and the flavor of the dish bland overall. My Uncle, who never complains, even commented that his dish was of poor quality. I had recommended the restaurant and was embarrassed.

We were immediately seated at a table that could accommodate a wheelchair bound person, the server had the reservation note I wrote about her food allergy issues, and the kitchen was prepared to serve her a lovely salmon dish she could eat. The service was outstanding and the food for the rest of us was wonderful too. High class service that was relaxed and fun. We're looking forward to our next visit.

My wife and I recently celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at the Getty, which was punctuated with an amazing dinner in front of a wall of windows looking out towards the pacific, which more than makes up for the lack of any type of intimate booths. We were both doubly impressed by the top-notch service, which was very accommodating and friendly, and the amazing meals that we were served. It's not often that a restaurant knocks it out of the park on presentation, portion size and palette delight. They most certainly did. We will return. I highly recommend any couple do the same.

Basically really enjoyable and no complaints. The service was excellent, food was really good and the view is pure LA. They sat us a the corner of the bay window and saw a great sunset. My only regret, is that I couldn't sample the nice wine list as I was driving. It's not inexpensive but in this case you get what you pay for. The museum during the day and then ending here was a a wise move. Well done.

The staff; from the hostess, the waiter, and the kitchen, were somewhere else last Saturday night. Hostess could not figure out where to seat us. Waiter, appeared, disappeared, reappeared, as though he was in a fog. Maybe he was having a bad night. Tried to sell me a dessert when it was on the prix fixe menu? Food was mediocre. Lobster risotto, was fair at best. Tomato salad with buratta on a piece of wood?, tastes better at home. the 5oz steak, was two pieces of meat that were slightly larger than chicken nuggets, and were tough and tasteless. The peach dessert, with chiffon cake? Deconstructed? looked like something from a nursery school arts project and did not work at all. waiter never picked up my AMEx

While traveling to Orange County with my girlfriend, a client recommended that we try the restaurant at The Getty Center. He text me the link in which to make a reservation, and declared that the architecture and view were exceptional. While reserving a table for lunch online, we noticed that there were no real vegan-friendly options for my girlfriend, so in the additional comments section of the form, I indicated that we would greatly appreciate if it was possible to prepare a vegan dish. Our server took notice of the request and put together a vegan platter worth writing home about. We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some great outdoor dining with incredible views.

Had an early lunch so not crowded when we arrived, but full when we left and the noise level never intruded. However, with long, narrow table, I was closer to the next table than to my dining companion, and their conversation did intrude. The food, lobster risotto, was delicious, with lots of lobster claw meat, and perfectly cooked asparagus. It also contained corn, though, which I thought detracted from the risotto itself. Chocolate ice cream with berries was a treat to savor.

NOt sure I spelled that right but the dish wasn't right either. It was missing fish - mostly clams, muscles and a few shrimp in an overly-rich cream sauce. Also ordered a compressed watermelon salad - tasted great and was floating in a wathermelon soup that tasted great but no spoon so the bus boy took it away along with all our dishes before we were even sure we were done. The waiter was very professional but his face showed disappointement instead of pleasure - I mean what did he have to complain about? He has a job in the most beautiful location imaginable - watching sunsets over the pacific from the top of a mountain.

This is definitely a great place to go if you want to get away and be able to converse easily in an amazing environment, Be prepared to park your car several levels down (for $15.00 - the restaurant does not validate) , take a quick elevator ride to the top and board the tram for a pleasant ride to the top. Make a left BEFORE entering the museum. Eat Relax , and Enjoy!!!
